I'm 66 and built my last 55 much like you did. crawling around under my car and stuff. since I don't have a good welder, I also took the serious welding to work and used the big welder. Just my word of advice,use plenty of jack stands and PPE.
I'm not sure if there is a right way to mount them, but that's how I did because the research I did is you want the bottom bar as close to zero as possible and if I mounted them the other why it would be harder to get the gasser look
I really do not understand why someone would install brand new floors and then would like to crash the ladder bars on them. Also, he does not want to drag the rear part of the ladder bars on the road but want to install the driveshaft safety loop in an unsafe position upside down so the loop is always hanging so scary low on the road. Then, the safety loop top arch is so low (because of the upside-down installation) that went the rear suspension be in full compression the driveshaft will be damage by the safety loop been so low in the tunnel!!!
By placing the Adjusters in the middle of the Axle Housing you have rendered them useless for adjusting pinion angle and preload....Could have purchased non adjustable bars for 1/2 the price....Good Luck!

Good choice on the 9" 👍 i finally put one in my 57 after i blew up 2 of the old 55p rears.
Did you mount your brackets upside down for your bars?

I was thinking the same thing but I think if you don’t want the car low how he did it is probably better.

Your brackets on your ladder bars are up side down.
