Finally an M car for true M fans. As a NA motor fan, I think the exhaust sounds good. My question is how does the steering compare to a hydraulic setup
Finally a review with a manual, so sick of all of them being the stupid ass automatic. I love my m2c, The CS is nice but not worth the price charged for it and I would rather have a fixed suspension
I had an LCI M2 and now have an M2 Competition Things I preferred in my older car - seats were more comfortable (but not as attractive) - sound was incredible, I had FI catted DP and M Perf Exhaust - more power down low - liked the kidney better - interior seemed quieter What I like about the comp: - Mirrors - S55 power ceiling, no mods needed - Gauges - Hockenheim - Breaks are insane I wish I didn't sell the OG. The gap wasn't big enough. With BM3 Stage 2, Wagner Comp IC, FI Catted DP, the car was absolutely amazing as a daily and canyon car. But the Competition has the collectability factor
I always love hearing the opinion of people who have owned/driven both! Do you feel as though the steering is largely improved from OG to Comp? Many people say the updated EPS and more rigid front end (carbon brace) make a significant difference. I haven't driven the OG along enough to compare
@@Reoniz I had a 2018 LCI which I think had some updated EPS logic. As a result I can't tell the difference. If anything I think sport+ may be a little less unnecessarily heavy in the M2C.
Great video! This was the "quirks and features" video I was looking for from Doug. He did a very short video on it and this filled in the gaps. I've ordered I believe the same spec and I cannot wait. I feel even better about my decision now.
Great video. Put my deposit for a manual HS M2c in late Feb. A month later the order was finally accepted. It is still “scheduled for production” now so eagerly waiting while watching every video on TH-cam about this car

The OG is a good car and for the price it just can't be beat, I almost ended up with one but for a bit more you just get so much more and probably also a warranty so imo its worth it.

Great review, I have a 2020 m2 comp in Hockenhiem silver but with the orange stitch, and I love it. Not the best on gas mileage lol but that’s not why I bought it.
In uk manuals with less than 30k miles are rare. 30k plus miles they’re like £40k for 2019 max year. Auto 2021 very loaded are like £40k with 7-10k miles.

My Budget is good my skills driving good, bmw history bad. Audi/porsche/tesla, had and sold. Been wanting a drivers car with HP and handling that gives you that Grin.
Thank you! If you are comparing the F87 (M2) and F80 (M3) I'm taking the M2 forsure! If you are however comparing the M2 to the new G80 generation M3 I'm not sure as I haven't driven the latest gen yet Typically, the M2 wins out because of size alone, but the M3 provides more practicality of course. If you truly have the budget and want a solid drivers car, I'd look at the likes of a Porsche 718 GT4 or the M2 CS!

Good question, it certainly doesn't hurt for headroom purposes, but I also don't love adding 50ish pounds to the highest point of a performance car personally

Thank you!! These are the lighter colored 'bi-color' wheels!! It's a hard choice, and honestly they're very similar aside from the alloy portion of the 'black' wheels being a slightly darker shade... you really can't go wrong. But I think the 'bi-color' works best on HS!!

Ya I think you're actually right, they look to be reflector style, with a single LED bulb. Buuuut, what I said is still true, the DRL dims for the turn signal which is not true on most Adaptive LED units on BMW's
@@nessuno5403 nope, go check out the headlights on the brand new G8X's, DRL doesn't dim for the turn signal... BMW seems to be the only brand to do this, Audi's for quite some time (since around 2013) dim or completely turn off the DRL while the turn signal indicator is on!

Nice review! You should have 200k subs not 2k with this quality of a review. It's a waist not to get an m2c with a dct because it's the last time you'll get to have it. If was just going manual I would wait for the 2023 m2 or just get G series M4
3 detractors for me personally: it takes away headroom, it brings in unnecessary heat, and most importantly it's a chunk of added weight in the place you want least (at the highest point of the car) Obviously just about all these detractors go away when considering say a luxury SUV... but this is of course a sports coupe!
bang for buck og m2 is hard to beat. especially since they are available for low 30's today. m2 comp can be tuned and modded to beyond m2 cs levels that isnt possible with the og m2. but the m2 cs will be the better collectors car 30 years from now
Hahah I don't know about $100k... but these are definitely up from their used prices of $50-$55k a year ago, to around $60-70k now. Sad 😢 Still an amazing sports car though
@@Reoniz 2 pics have been leaked of a silver one in plant. If they're real, which they look like they are, it looks great. That matches up with an unofficial confirmation that they went in the opposite direction with the front bumper design in comparison to their new M cars.
Ya know, maybe it's my F30, but this wasn't terrible at all to me... however to hold it to the E92 standard will always be a disappointment. I used to have one as well and many new Bimmers have been a disappointment but things are trending back in the right direction!

It's a big improvement to the original EPS systems in BMW's, but still doesn't compare to the full analog 'feel' of a hydraulic setup!

Ya the static suspension is pretty solid, especially in whatever ever so slightly modified fashion it is on the Comp
