Agreed many pop artists of today never seem to give acknowledgement to the songwriters who actually pen the lyrics, EVEN if they are frequent collaborators. Elton has ALWAYS made it clear it's him and Bernie Taupin who make these songs TOGETHER, which is commendable.
@@Allagi22 Elton has never tried to slight Bernie as far as I know. They were a song writing team, and credited on the labels of every record and album just as Lennon/McCartney were.

I got to see Elton John play at Ischgl, Austria about 10 or 15 years ago. But this was no ordinary concert. Ischgl is a ski resort (part of the ski area is in Switzerland). He and his band played up on the mountain, in the middle of the ski area. They started with 'Funeral for a Friend (Love lies bleeding) which could not have been more perfect. The next 6 songs were exactly what I wanted to hear, so after that, I went skiing above the concert area. Elton is a legend and it is very cool that he always gives Bernie Taupin credit as well for his contributions to Elton's success. Every time I hear one of Elton's early songs, I think of my middle brother because he played Elton's music every day on our old console stereo back in the day.
