Where is star delta starter used?
In a (squirrel) cage induction motor, the starter is used only to decrease the input voltage to the motor so as to decrease the starting current. It is T.P.D.T switch used to first start the motor with the winding connected in star and then switch for delta connection in running position.
How does a star delta starter work?
During starting the motor windings are connected in star configuration and this reduces the voltage across each winding 3. This also reduces the torque by a factor of three. ... The Star/Delta starter is manufactured from three contactors, a timer and a thermal overload.

I think, power cable for Reverse , those two phase cable "RED AND YELLOW" should be exchanged at R main contactor input end, rather than output end. otherwise, when take reverse action, delta side, cables cannot be exchanged. it will bring short cuit risk.
The power wiring is right. They won't short circuit because in the control wiring (Which is in another video I suppose) you'd have the forward and reverse contactors interlocked to each other by tying the a1 of each contactor to the 1NC of the other contactor (In the exact same manner as you'd interlock the star and delta contactors to solve basically the same issue.). You could also do it the way you said on the input side, it would be doing the exact same thing, but you'd still have to interlock the F and R contactors...othewise, without the interlocks, you'd short.

Delta contactor incoming connection is wrong, just swipe L1 to L2 in Delta contactor incoming side contacts. Else u will get R-phase at U1 and Y-phase at W2, this may burn motor. No matter in what direction u are running motor, motor terminal should have(U1W2- R-phase, V1U2-Y-phase, W1V2-Bphase), for other direction motor terminal should have(U1W2- Y-phase, V1U2-R-phase, W1V2-Bphase), hope u understood. Other connection is ok

In this connection, coil u1 and u2 get yellow phase when reverse contactor energise. For resolving the issue need to make phase change(R and Y) on reverse contactor input side instead of output side.

No need for two overload relays, the load for U1 V1 and W1 will be the same as the current in U2, V2 and W2 unless in case of a short circuit, and in that case the circuitbreaker is the protection.

Power feed to the Fwd and Rev Contactors comes off the motor terminals , ?, All power Feeds should be fed off and linked from the top side of all 5 main Contactors , One of the Fwd and Rev Contactors will need to be energize before the motor can be started in Star Delta .
What was he thinking wiring in an extra , Overload unit , and feeding the 3 phase supply to the Fwd and Rev Contactors off the motor connections , Red to Red and Blew to Bits comes to mind !!!

This circuit is wrong. Phase reversal should be taken before reverse contractor so that in reverse condition, both side of winding will get phase reversed. In this circuit, Yellow phase will be connected to both end of U winding and winding V and W are in parallel with phase R and B connected across. Please correct the drawing. Thanks.
