    Ooh something I know....drill small hole in bottom of each plastic half...cover with duct tape on outside...do your normal thing but when ready to pull out remove tape and get your air hose out...little bursts thru hole separates easy from container ❤

    Totally agree, Loctite is far superior foam and doesn't swell up months down the road. I so thought you were gonna throw the first half up in the air like a pizza dough after pulling it outta the bowl,hahaha.

    I love this. I used the Loctite. I think it was too fresh, lol. It took almost 10 minutes to skin enough to be handled. I used a light spray of Pam. No issues painting but I use spray paint. I’ve got a lot to learn about how to handle this stuff. That was hilarious I’m gonna pump you up

    • @StiltbeastStudios
      @StiltbeastStudios  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      what did you use pam on?
      the water helps it skin so spray with water and its ready in about 4 min

      @@StiltbeastStudios I sprayed the bowls with Pam. But I did use the water on the foam it slightly skinned but was untouchable for at least 10 minutes. The can said it was made in March of this year. Maybe it was too cool

    • @StiltbeastStudios
      @StiltbeastStudios  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      was it locktite foam or great stuff foam? locktite is 4 min and great stuff is 8-10 min to skin with water.

      @@StiltbeastStudios it was Loctite. I specifically bought that as great stuff grow too much for my liking. I wish it came out of the straw as smoothly as yours does but it was wild. I did try to do it exactly the way you did too.

    Thank you for these videos, I used your tutorials to make my first loctite mask. If I could return the favor a bit, if you ever want to make a mask that is spherical, try using a punch Balloon as a mold, you can inflate it to the size you want and when the mask sets, slowly deflate the balloon to peel it from the foam.

    I did something similar but hand size. A made a half a mold, used the spray foam and after it had set a few minutes pressed it into the mold so it would be hallow. Then I hot glued the two half’s together and reinforced the seam with blue shop towels with diluted wood glue. I also used the wood glue/shop towel method to make some wrinkles. After they dried I used a dremel to carve the faces and painted them black then dry brushed two different colors of orange over the black and added a small piece of rope hot glued to the top for a stem and a battery operated tea light. I sold them at a hayride event and people went crazy over them. They couldn’t believe they were made out of spray foam. My husband asked me where I got the idea and I was very proud to say from you. Thank you for everything you teach us!

    Once again Mr. Hopps is inspiring me to take a chance & try something new.
    I bought a female half torso mannequin with hanger. It's a hard plastic & doesn't have any under cuts.
    My thought was run some PVC pipe where spine would be in case I can't get it out, it's still useable for my needs.
    I'm hoping it will come out, if I use water as the release.
    Last time I made a weeping angel I used home made paper clay to build the neck, shoulders & collarbone area ( because she was wearing a sleeveless dress) & it was a pain and to labor intensive.
    Release or not released, I will have tried & learned something.
    I wish I could think of a way to update you all, maybe tomorrow I'll figure that out also.
    Thanks Allen, your amazing & I really appreciate your videos. ( We all do!)

Nothing in nature is perfect, so that pumpkin fits in with being an ugly, but realistic pumpkin. I think you may well have stumbled on the best way of creating a pumpkin, cheaply and quickly. I will be attempting my own soon, and hope they come out as good as yours. Cheers.

      whay are people obsessed with balloons lol. you could, but chasing a sticky balloon is not fun or easy, it wants to roll as soon as any weight hits it- it Is going to make a teardrop shaped pumpkin as opposed to a pumpkin shaped pumpkin. with the bowls, I make both halves at the same time, with a balloon you can only make one half (more like a quarter) at a time as it has to rest on the bottom. just use the bowls lol.

    After watching your Loctite mask clips, I make a form out of a up side down 5 gal bucket with pipe insulation on the bucket. I wrapped it in plastic wrap. I was able to spray Loctite on outside of the form. I created a 3h4 pumpkin. The ridges of the pipe insulation did not show on the outside but I was able to sculpt the pumpkin shape as you have shown. I made several and added a deer motor tilting mec and flame bulb inside the pumpkin. Turned out great. I have heard a rumor that a Loctite Pro gun is in the works. Have you heard anything about that. I wonder if you could do what people use to do with that craft project from years ago (I remember my grandma doing it when I was little lol) with the balloon and the string/glue. Maybe you could use a balloon taped to the table (because a non taped balloon would roll around and be annoying LOL) and spray the foam around it. Then its one piece to start with, you would use less foam only having to do one layer, and don't mess around with the two floppy sides not wanting to stick to one another lol. The hole on the bottom where the balloon was sitting on the table you can use to pop the balloon once the foam is hardened, you can still carve the pumpkin since its hollow, and you have a spot for the candle to go since theres the hole on the bottom. (Fake candles only people! No real fire near foam please).
    I love these pumpkins though! I finally did a project with some spray foam (used great stuff though because I wasn't trying to shape it at all) and made some embers for a cauldron I made. Love being able to use materials that make those kind of crafts so quick and easy and look so good!

    • @StiltbeastStudios
      @StiltbeastStudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      thats possible, this way is pretty easy though, balloons also tend to be teardrop shaped so I think I prefer the shape of the bowl pumpkins. but do whatever is easier for you. Ive tried the balloon method a few years ago and this is a step forward in ease in my opinion.

    Not sure if there is an actual translucency or not, but the camera seems to imply that. Looks like the light somewhat shines through the skin of the pumpkin. I think for the money, this is an awesome option to cookie cutter foam pumpkins. I wonder if you could make a massive one (in one piece) using one of those plastic witch cauldrons? No seams either. Although you may need a spatula or something crafty to get the foam out. Anyhoo, thanks for sharing. 🤘💀

    Perhaps it would help to spray, the pumpkin, have a little higher, essentially to give the outer edge of the ridge which you can marry together and carve away. That might make it easier to unite the two halves. Even if only one side of the pumpkin head that hi edge, it would make connecting them a little easier. Maybe? Also seemed like it would be handy to have a stem or some sort of handle at the top in order to lower the first half onto the second when you are uniting them to make your full pumpkin I was just thinking a hole with a piece of wire stuck through so you could lift it up. Something that would make a little damage, but give you the leverage. This is rad! Thank you for doing this🎉

    I just bought large balloons, and sprayed in sections. With full face shield in case i popped the balloon. Done some huge heads 20"+

    I love your creativity!
    But if it was me making pumpkins I would just buy those black bowls you’re using as a mould and just glue them together with a combination of E6000 and hot glue, then use the foam to create a stem and maybe to accentuate my overall shape. Then I’d paint that sucker up and be done. 😂😂😂
    Easy peasy lemon squeezie!
    We used to make paper Mache Easter Egg Piñatas by blowing up balloons to use as our form. Wonder if that would work with the foam stuff?
    Or…… another idea that came to me was the possibility of gluing the bowls together then cutting it perpendicular to create 2 vertical mould halves instead of your horizontal halves? Might eliminate that weird middle area?

    Allan, if you wanted a smoother pumpkin, could you use the wet fabric method you used in the spray foam tutorial of yours from about 8 years ago? Not with 2 pieces or the beachball, but the last exterior piece wrapped around the pumpkin and twine or electrical tape to make the deep ridges?

      I think its possible, but the locktite forms a pretty stout skin- I think timing would be the key as far as when to apply the fabric.

    • @RicksRants
      @RicksRants ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StiltbeastStudiosI will try it this week and share results with you. I agree that timing and babysitting will be key.

    To release from the bowl you can use compressed air between the foam and bowl to pop it out

    Is it OK to glue gun features to the pumpkin? I was thinking of using old corn Seeds as teeth. I suppose I could scoop some out of potato but that would be a large undertaking requiring greater skill. These old field corn seeds look like Janky teeth already.

    How can I get one of those from you to wear on my head. I would make it myself but my hands are crippled. I like the first one that you made very much. But if I can have one i'd like to show you how I would want his face to be a sweet pumpkin. But they both came out awesome I would definitely put those in front of my house.

      @@StiltbeastStudios I'm sorry to hear that it's slow this year. I normally decorate my yard with props I make. This year I am just not able to. Last year I had over 300 trick or treaters so I loaded up with candy for this year. Now we're going from the 80s to freezing rain and temps in the upper 20s to low 30s for Tuesday night. I know you are going to have the same thing because we aren't far apart. Have a happy Halloween 🎃

      it would, I just dont want to chase a balloon, and they tend to inflate into a shape I dont like for pumpkins.
