    Docks in the lake of the ozarks have large solid foam cores in the floats. Old docks just have foam without the plastic coating, but it usually breaks apart over time and litters the lake. There's recycling facilities that can probably offer it for cheap or free.

I always wonder how the weather proofing would (or will) hold up to our Canadian winters.Also, I don't have enough shed space to shelter my Halloween decorations. I can wrap them in plastic or put smaller decorations in plastic bins. But they live outside all year round. 35 degrees celcius in summer during heat waves and minus 20 celcius in winter. Snowy wet weather in January and February. Can these pumpins survive two months in a snow bank?

    @HollywoodHaunter ! Love this video! I have a question for you though. In your experience, what would you guys recommend for hardcoating a foam character sculpt, that will still allow me to retain the smoothe surfaces and details of the sculpt, but is still easily sandable and durable? Unfortunately I can't use fiberglass mesh because I'll loose the detail, but I still need it to be durableand sandable. I like how you were able to keep the details on your gnarly Indiana Jones Snakes and was hoping you could point me in the right direction?
    THANK YOU HOLLYWOOD HAUNTER!!!!!

    • @HollywoodHaunter
      @HollywoodHaunter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So out of all the materials we have personally worked with I'd say the EpoxAmite Smooth-On we mentioned. You can apply 2 or 3 thin layers and still keep most of the details. Its going to be pretty hard to the touch and it sands and paints easy. It won't stop like a hammer impact but its worked of sculptures we have done in the past. There are so many options available now but if you really don't want to lose any detail from applying material you may need to make a silicone mold and then cast it with a hard resin, plaster, or something.

      I'd try plaster Paris, make thick paint and brush it on. Can add paint too . It's awesome

    Just subbed, and smashed like on this video. I am in awe, about to ask if you sell these they are awesome, but I was thinking other than turning it into a dog house when it's not the season for such, there would be no where to store it. Though one day I hope to have a nice faux garden scene on my property. I can see a need in my future. I know it would sure turn heads if I needed something to grab peeps attention. Awesome you are guys are so talented. Glad I found the chanel.

    This is so helpful! I’m planning to DIY a pair of bookends (the cloud bookends sold out on west elm), and I think I can use this as my inspo. Thanks guys! ✨

    Another idea for you guys. Make a giant pinecone and acorn to go with your giant pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns. That would be a pretty cool display. 🧡🤎💛🍁🍂

    Thank you for sharing. I do have a question about how much does it cost in matirels to make one of those pumpkins?

    • @HollywoodHaunter
      @HollywoodHaunter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just depends on if you have any materials or if you find free stuff. You could easily spend $200 just on resins or epoxies if you went that route.

    • @shellsmith1737
      @shellsmith1737 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HollywoodHaunter Wow! I figure it would be $$$$ on the resins or epoxies.

    Love your props. I miss doing Halloween but live high on mountain ridge now and now neighborhood kids but did it for 40 years. Where do y'all store your stuff. Happy Halloween.

    • @HollywoodHaunter
      @HollywoodHaunter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We try to make most of our large facades modular so they are able to be broken done and stored. As far as props go we store the largest ones in the garage and then tuck all the little ones everywhere else haha!
