That’s awesome man! Looks great. My brother is an experienced welder, and he even said that the welds on my HogWorkz backrest are solid! Great company and all around good people.
I was super impressed, my roommate and I were comparing his HD detachable sissy bar to my @Hogworkz and no lie HOGWORKZ is better quality especially in the latch mechanism. It’s great stuff!
Just bought a SOLO tour pack mount from Hogworkz and the lineup between their mounts and the plate is off-size by at least a quarter inch on both sides. Tried everything to get it even close! I wish they would have the jigs calibrated!!! There is no way I'll get the thing on without engineering new bushings/ spacers to align with the plate! If Harley made a plate for the solo position I would spend $1000 before I would put myself through the three hours of WTF I did yesterday! I could have cut apart the Harley mount and re-engineered to a forward position, tig welded it, and been done already, since I'm not so much wanting quick release, just solo forward mounting! To say I am pissed is not even close to how I feel On to the lathe, find suitable stock for bushings, get it to line up, polish and clear coat the bushings ....... damn! Would have been a 15 minute job if the damned plate was within spec to THEIR DOCKING HARDWARE!
That’s very disappointing, everything fit perfectly with my stuff so maybe you received a faulty product and hopefully it’s just a one off thing.. I really do not know but I’m sorry to hear about this quality issue.
Great video. Really shows the quality of the Hogworx and actually bought Hogworx over the HD stuff after originally trying the Amazon China crap! (Terrible idea). Anyway was really torn but watched your vid and chose the Hogworx due to the seemingly flawless quality. My one question is did it listen up a tiny bit after use or at least get a little easier to put on than in the video. This is the only knock I’ve heard on Hogworx, that they are so tight hard to get on. Just wondering if it listens up to a perfect fit like a good pair of boots?
It has loosened up some, honestly I’d rather have it pretty snug than loose so it rattles. I had a HD removable tour pack on my old Road King years ago and that was super loose. About drove me crazy. 😂
I have a 2016 CVO. Awesome videos been watching a bunch of them Saw one later where you I saw the defender was changed and no I was like well done I should have just kept my mouth shut.
I recently picked up a 2017 RK and am looking to get a sissy bar / backrest for my wife. As far as the pricing for the docking mount kit both HD and Hogworkz are priced at $150 USD. I am assuming Hogworkz was cheaper before, but have been impacted by the increase cost of shipping and raw materials we have seen over the last year. With price being equal what advantage does Hogworkz’s kit have over the OEM?
I compared the sissy bar from HOGWORKZ with OEM and personally felt that Hogworkz seemed too be a bit better quality and a little heavier.. I know at least with mine Its a very solid and secure dock with absolutely no wiggle but because of that it Isa little tough to install and remove. Hogworkz Comes with a pad, I don't recall whether OEM did or not. I've used OEM in the past and it's always been fine as well, I think it'll just come down to what you want to do and what seems like the best value for you.
Do you plan on adding “filler” lights on the rear or lights on back of saddlebags to help visibility? If so, do you have light recommendations? Also, I really like your relaxed style on videos. Thanks
Hey I appreciate that thank you Paul. I don’t think I’ll add more lights to the back on this one Just because there’s no place for fillerz on this fender and I’m not a fan of the saddlebag lights that stick on. As far as recommendations go though.. I’ve run custom dynamics and ciro3d and for those applications I think either one is a safe bet and either company is top notch to deal with.
I like that the screw heads are not sticking up…. seems like a simple pleasure but many aftermarket units have the rounded screw heads protruding and to me that looks cheap. Those HW units look super!!

@@Touringmidwest Absolutely! I have an HD one too, and the HogWorkz is definitely better. Bike is looking great 👍🏽
Thanks i got the link from your description page for the frame mounted highway peg!
Awesome, Thank you!
Could you do a video on hooking up the tour pack power (lights/speakers) with the mounting system.
Thanks. Great job. Keep up the great content.
Yeah I think I can work that in somewhere, thank you!
Looks great brother, don’t forget the weight savings good info 😎 New sub
Awesome, thank you Jim!
Bike is looking good man
Thank you 🙏
What about the plate placement? Looking beautiful!!!
I ended up doing the dominator fender from Advanblack and that has a license plate holder built into it.
If you had your seat on it you can lay your tour pack pad on your seat and then lineup your mounting points

Just sucribe. What did you do with the license plate? Do you have a Video on how you relocated it?
Sort of.. I installed a different rear fender that had a license plate holder built-in to it
Also, Thanks for subscribing man

How do you plug up the lights on the tour pak and what do you do with the wiring when not hooked up? Can you show how you do that ?
Yeah man for sure.. I’m actually getting allot of interest in this topic so I’ll try to create a good video about it somehow.
@@Touringmidwest keep going product looks great and you make it all look easy to install.

I am super impressed with the quality of this stuff, I’m very satisfied with the HOGWORKZ parts.
