I purchased a used Electra Glide from a private party and it came with a tour pack and sissy bar but the owner had the four points all messed up and with standard washers instead of the proper chrome spacer. I was wondering why things wouldn't line up. Your video was of great help. Thanks!
Thanks bro. Been trying to force my luggage rack on the docking points but didn’t realize that I had the chrome magnetic caps on the rubber grommets. It’s been 2 months and u just helped me out. Thanks again. Whew!

Looks like I need to buy the right docking hardware. I'm new to Harleys and I bought used docking hardware, sissy bar, and luggage rack. Come to find out its not 09 and up as the guy said. I have a 14 road king and the hardware I need is like you installed. The hardware I was sold, you have to remove all three bolts and and bolt it to the outside of the frame. Thanks for the good video.
yes sir you are correct...09 to 13 and 14 to 19 ...you will find these changes throught the bike...in 14 they changed alot of stuff, forks, radio, bags, lids, lid hardware, switches..too many to list...just remember you want 14 up or Rushmore style and you will be good to go.
@@sikbaggers Thanks Steve! I wish I would've seen your video before I bought. Do you think the sissy bar and luggage rack would fit once I get the correct docking hardware? I'd hate to sell it all off if they will work. I paid $150 for everything shipped and they were all like new condition.

Just bought a 2018 Street Glide, the docking system was dealer installed. I bought a sissy bar and a luggage rack, neither one will fit. Took them back and was told to turn the right side shock absorber upside down. He said this would give me the clearance to install the sissy bar. He didn't have an answer for the luggage rack. I'm ready to pull the whole thing off, take it back and ride it the way it is. My old bike had the docking system on it and no problem. I have a 2000 soft tail, it has docking system with no problem.
Wow...doesnt sound like much of a dealer...if it was dealer installed I would have told him he could take it back and flip the shock. The front of the sissy bar does attach to the shock tower behind the eye, however the shocks should not stop you from mounting it, flipped either way. Unless of course they are aftermarket shocks , some do. The luggage rack should go only to the 4 points on the docking system, same as a tour pack. Send me an email with a picture of your docking hardware as it is now and the shock he is telling you to flip and i'll try to figure out whats going on with your scooter and get you lined out. slhousden@gmail.com
I found the problem, all of the black bushings were on backwards. I turned them around and now the sissybar and luggage rack fit on my bike. And I can easily remove them when they are not needed. Thanks for your video. You can be sure I'll mention this the next time I have to go up to the dealership.
Thank You! I have a 2006 Harley-Davidson Road King Classic EFI FLHRCI. I want to put a tour pack on the back which gets the better backrest for the wife (passenger). Some say it can't be done, but was wondering if it can be done with the addition of the 4 point mounting system? Currently the bike only has the small rest/ rack combination (2 point). Is this possible?
It absolutly can be done..all you need is the 4 point docking for the 08 and older bikes. Here is a video of me on the advanblack youtube channel showing you how to do it th-cam.com/video/UqaJg6LF9qU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LYw1WGanaY7YNwiU and here is the link to the product you need. www.advanblack.com/advanblack-chrome-detachable-two-up-tour-pak-mounting-rack-harley-touring-97-08.html

Wondering what do I need to do to put a quick connect for my Razorback on an 06 FLHTCUl ultra classic. I have the aluminum bracket for my Razorback. Thanks
You will need a conversion kit that makes your tour pack quick disconnect. HD has them for about 340 H-D Detachables Tour-Pak Conversion Kit Part Number 53303-07A I think that is the one you need. However there are other brands that make it and are cheaper.
@@sikbaggers hey Steven that part won't work I have stretched bags and fender as well. I would have to cut up my fender to make that stock kit fit my bike
I got a 2013 Electra Glide Classic, and my docking hardware on the bike is rusted. I ordered a new one from HogWorks but I can’t get the right wrench for those original Harley bolts which are rounded. I don’t know if it a Hex, Torque or Metric and I’m terrified of stripping it.
more than likely it will strip out if its in that bad of shape..make sure to pick up a screw extractor set before you tackle it. this is the one I use and its a little miracle worker. amzn.to/3WZY1ho
Steven found this video yesterday and received mine today. I had read some of the reviews on Harley’s set and there was talk about the extra wires and how some of the guys were getting there paint rubbed off. Before I take this on do you have any suggestions. You have the best videos I’ve watched, great looking bikes and always good information. Keep them coming and ride safely
What brand of hardware did you use? I see a lot of hardware out there that says they "fit" but that's not the case. I've got a 2012 road king and I'm wanting to install a sissy bar. Possibly a luggage rack later on.
Installing the tour pak rack so that the latches will work is a pain. I've tried rolling the rear docking point numerous times to find out where the latches will both work, but so far, no luck with the right one. The left one does latch. Very frustrating!
they are all like that when they are new. Very tight. Youll be thankful for that a couple of years down the road when it starts getting sloppy from vibration.
Steve, I can't find anyone anywhere that has this setup for my 2017 CVO Ultra with a rigid mount tour pak. I thought most touring bikes with the tour pak were rigid mount and you buy these kits for a quick change up. What am I missing here? Help a Brother out please!!
Only the ultras come with a hard mounted pack because your turn signals are in the tour pack so its non removeable ...sort of...lol ..all other touring models come with no tour pack and you have to add the 4 point docking and quick detach system. 2 issues you will have to deal with if you remove ytour tour pack..the turn signals and the license plate are both attached to your pack...so you can dd filler lights or maybe bag blades, something to add turn signals to your bike and then relocate your plate...HD sells a kit you can buy that has everything you need and it seems expensive at 600 bucks but its on point if you were to purchase all of that separate. Problem is im having a hard time finding one that doesnt say out of stock but here is link to what im talking about www.wisconsinharley.com/harley-davidson-detach-tour-pak-luggage-carrier-conversion-kit-black-53000916/
you can get just the hardware from your local HD...if they tell you they cant they are full of crap and lazy. Every thing HD sells has a parts break down and they can look it up, get the parts numbers and order exactly what you need. Our local HD does it for me a lot.
I am in the market for this system. Why should I get the Advanblack docking system over the HogWorkz one? or are they basically the same thing? Thanks in advance.
118 vs 134 for the same part is a solid 16 reasons. Just messing...but yes its the same part my friend and cheaper...also, not sure about them but I'm always here to help or you can reach me on the Advanblack Tech Support line Monday through Friday if you need help over the phone. (909) 766-1791 Be safe.
Alright guys, looking for some advice. I have a 2015 road glide special, didn’t come with a sissy bar. I bought one but it’s for a 2013, is there a way I can make it fit? It’s not fitting with the docking hardware I currently have on the bike. Did hardware change from 13-14?
No..the docking hardware is all the same from 09 to 24. Make sure you are putting the front 2 parts of the backrest on the top of the shocks and the back 2 go down on the front part of the Docking leaving the rear docking pieces open. A tour pack will mount ot the 4 docking hardware pieces and a sissy bar goes on the shocks and front two points. Please tell me "how" its not fitting and I can help you a lot more.
great vid thanks, very informative, i have a 2018 sportglide but think the docking kit will be very similar so will now be happy to install myself. keep up the good work.
Anyone know where i can get that filler piece if i was to remove the docking bracket? I bought my 2020 RGS and it came with the docking bracket and id like to remove it.
It is called a slot cover insert and there are a ton on ebay..,but here is one..its the first one i saw so it may not be the cheapest but this is what it is and this should help you get a set. www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-09-18-Harley-Davidson-TOURING-MODELS-Saddlebag-Fender-Support-Inserts-Set-/123258211068?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l4275.c1#viTabs_0
No sir....the backrest is designed to go on the shock mounts which is way wider than the docking system. It will only fit the shock mount and the front 2 docking points.
Hey Steve, Well done vid explanation ! I have an 07( a relic to some :-) Ultra Classic that I'm finally getting around to putting the detachable tourpak kit on and a detachable passenger backrest. I know this vid was dealing with the newer generation of bikes after the 07's but I think it probably will help when I go to put pieces on. Harley's instructions that come with the kit are lacking in quite a few places, surprised since they usually were more detailed. I'm wondering on the older bikes like mine, do I need any other docking hardware to put the detachable passenger backrest on, or does the docking kit for the tourpak take care of both ? Thanks for the vid and any tips you might have for doing my 07 !
I'm having the same issue with my '06 heritage. I can't seem to find docking kit for the passenger back rest. I had received the docking hardware thinking that's all I needed. Do I need some sort of docking system similar to what is in the video. Thanks for any help.

This helped me just today. Thank you.

Thank you for a very well explained video... You earned my subscription and a like.
thank you very much!
What brand of hardware did you use? I see a lot of hardware out there that says they "fit" but that's not the case. I've got a 2012 road king and I'm wanting to install a sissy bar. Possibly a luggage rack later on.

Thank you! Do you have a shop in Marion IL? I live in Mt Vernon

@@Big88Country Yes sir and you to as well! Be safe!
Where can I find just the hardware for 4 point docking? the ones I have were stripped out and I cant tighten them up anymore.
you can get just the hardware from your local HD...if they tell you they cant they are full of crap and lazy.
That made perfect sense. Thank you!
Glad to help!
Awesome video! Very informative 👍🏻
Glad to help Jeff!
Anyone tried installing docking kit on older road king with wide fender and extended fender four point docking will not fit between fender and bags
great vid thanks, very informative, i have a 2018 sportglide but think the docking kit will be
very similar so will now be happy to install myself. keep up the good work.
Hey tom sorry I am just now seeing this comment. Im glad the video helped man! Be safe and thank you for checking out the vids.
Is that the same way to install on a 2019 road king special? I'm learning all this as I go so any info is greatly appreciated
Yes sir nothing has changed from 14 up to 19
@@sikbaggers thank you very much
What do you call the magnet

anybody know what the part number is for the T-40 bolts?
excellent video....instructions clear and spot on. Thx
Thank you Edward!
Just did mine. Took less than 30 minutes from start to finish.
SIK Baggers thanks man, I actually ordered some on ebay a little while after posting this comment
Can the sissy bar be installed using the tour pack mounting brackets to give extra room for the passenger?
No sir....the backrest is designed to go on the shock mounts which is way wider than the docking system. It will only fit the shock mount and the front 2 docking points.
Thank you for the quick response sir
Youre welcome Glen...If have any other questions please let me know. Be safe!
Even if it could be done Glen, that would probably too far away from the seat.
Excellent breakdown.. Thanks
You're very welcome!
Thank you.. made the install easy.
What a great explanation
Thank you for checking it out and grateful to help!
Thank you for your thorough video.
Excellent info! Thank you for this very informative and detailed video👍🏻👍🏻🤓
Glad the video helped..i know that parts bag is a puzzle when you get it lol
@@sikbaggers lol sure is. I was looking at my peg mounts and pegs alittle puzzled also even though they have instructions, someones what you need to see in the picture diagram you can’t see, because the image is turned.
Hey steve I am looking to purchase this docking system. But which sissy bar/pad would you recommend that is compatible? I didn’t see one on the advanblack site. Thanks -Lou
I purchased mine from amazon and to be honest it was double identical to the HD one and a 1/4 of the price.
Thanks brother I’ll look into it more
Awesome wish I would have seen this video before I installed mine tried it too many times but finally got it right. Thank you for the very informative little video.
