Thanks, I was trying to use the asset in 3ds max using Houdini engine, but no success yet. Suspecting that H engine not transfering the CHOP data. there is a way to cache CHOP info to the file and read it in 3ds or UE4, but hevent tested it yet. Anyway always can be exported as alembick.
@@maksimfilipovich this is the conclusion I came to as well. Export as alembic is definitely an option and I think using the setup to create a skeleton might also work. Will test this evening. Either way the tool is fantastic and such a useful way to setup a vehicle in Houdini!

hello there, the HDA will cache the whole animation at once as soon as you do any edits, so I recommend working with a copy of the car model or animation curve, then when you finish editing switch the curve/car

I'm used to start my shots at 1001 to prevent some prerolls. Do you think there is a chance to have an .hda instead of .hdalc ? We are using the core version of Houdini and it switchs our license everytime we drop your hda in the scene. Thanks again !

The "chop("../suspension/OUT_drift/drift") " returns a value =0 as soon as the curve from your demo scene is replaced. I even tried the different curves you set up in case you did something I didn't notice on the curves, but still nothing. If I change the curve then go back to the one from the demo scene, drifting stays broken.
@@maksimfilipovich I found the "mistake". In "suspension_side_rot", the wrangles must be set to "points". Right now it's on "guess" and apparently Houdini is having a hard time guessing, so the @N info is stopped right there.

There is another problem with the HDA : sometimes it bakes in a loop and never stops, when it happens while saving, the save never ends (waited 20mn) and is corrupted when you force close the file. Also, if you happen to render without baking to alembic, this can happen also so my render got stuck at frame 4 because the bake started looping. Would you happen to know why ?
Can this program do anything without these addons? Like anything at all.... I thought this was the program that could do anything but then we need all the plugin to achieve simple things like animating a car along a spline. So infuriating.

nope, jumping will not work yet, still thinking how to implement it without simulation

Thanks, will fix the prerolls in next version, the studio-wide hda should be available soon on orbolt.com (their moderation is pretty slow)

I bought it and drift does not work. It only works in the demo scene with the nodes of the demo scene.
the slope parameter should be greater then 0 to activate drift
