    Important note: the original title of this video included the price tag of $70 because I thought that you could get a 4 x 4 floppy for 70 bucks but I realized that it was without the frame so I’ve changed the title and updated the link so now you can get the fabric and the frame And the title isn’t actually Clickbait lol

      @CinePhotoATL 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I was so excited at first, been wanting a floppy for years but can't justify the $
      I wonder how hard it would be to make a frame for the fabric? I guess at that point I might as well sew my own fabric too lol

      @@CinePhotoATL it’s not hard if you have a little woodworking or metalworking skills. Might be able to just make a frame from pvc pipe or sth. Then just add molton

    Just a quick tip: be mindful of how you position the floppy in relation to the knuckle. Always place the weight on the side that's locking. This way, if the weight pulls downward, it will tighten the grip. Hope that makes sense! Otherwise, great video dude

    We recently hired a pretty established videographer for some BTS work on a documentary I’m working on. When he was roaming around our set and getting some bts and b-roll that might be used, he asked what the heck is this thing(floppy). And unfortunately, this is common with the new guard. Not knowing what a floppy is the same as watching people use lanterns as soft boxes. Do what most of us have done and assist other established working professionals in the beginning. This isn’t a race, some of my best memories/experiences were in the 8 to 12 year of learning on sets. You establish yourself, your look/style from these experiences; so much more than you would going on your own. Do a little research in your city and lean hard into doing anything possible to get hired by Studio’s, working freelancers, etc. (well… not anything 🤓)

    I disagree with the quick text frame. I think the room light on the back of your head helps place you in the room and grounds it. Too often with lighting some poeple forget to integrate their subjects into the environment they're in and it starts to look pretty sourcy.
