    4 weeks and counting and my daughter and I will be on our first trip there. Hopefully no strong wind and no bugs.

    I have been planning a trip here with my wife in about 2 years. I have been doing a lot of research and watching a lot of videos. Your video was very helpful, I learned several things from it. Great video!

    Great video. You had to pass right by my home to get to the ferry in Davis. We have stayed in the Great Cabins usually in June. It took a while for them to open back up after the last Hurricane.

    Just got a new 4Runner. Some of those roads looked very tight might take the old one because of this.

    How’s the night sky?

      Absolutely stunning! You can still see the lights from the towns, but the sky is beautiful!

    I have the same model Jeep 2 door. What brand is your roof rack? Thanks

      eBay rack for the JL, we went just a generic type, cheapest one, in plans of getting roof top tent at some point. We have been very satisfied with it, it actually does not have a name on rack, but will look back in my purchases if needed for the name.. thank you for asking.. we have enjoyed the extra space it has given us…

    When was this that you went? What month?

    • @LooseGravelOverlanding
      @LooseGravelOverlanding  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mid June… lots of bugs… the workers even said there was more than normal… but it was beautiful weather all but one night… we would not go back in June again for fear of the bitting bugs… they drew blood every bite!

      @@LooseGravelOverlanding as of now I am thinking September. The only issue with that is the hurricane season. What part of the island did you find to be the most secluded? North end or south end or somewhere in between? Also, could you drive all the way to the north point and could you drive all the way around the south point to the end that turns northward (on google maps it says Lookout bight)?

      @@jody7865 Yes, most all the island is drivable on the marked areas, they do mark off for sea turtle nesting and bird nesting and such. We stayed pretty much mid way of the island and loved it. Lots of sites on the island to see.. there is a very small store with a few items and ice has to be bought before a certain time, gas is available also by a certain time if the day. I wanna think it is 3 when most things close.
