bad news is weather did not let us go as planned in May. Good news is we just got back from spending fathers day week end at cape lookout. Every one had a blast. And my RAM worked like a charm. Had no trouble at all. We're already making plans for when we can all get together and go again.
Great video and channel, thanks for sharing. A buddy and I are heading to Cape Lookout in a few weeks for the first time so it's nice to see and get some tips.
Packing up and headed there first week of april with my dog. My wrangler won’t be ready by then, so I’m coming in a 2022 AWD equinox 😬. I have my truck claws, shovel, and traction boards hoping I won’t have to use them. LoL I’ve never been to this island before and have been watching all the videos I can to curb my impatience.
Evening mate, what can I say but cool mate so cool. Sea su n an fish... Get in. What was the brown tent??. Nice one to Nathan he got it all the way.. Top man 👍💪
Thanks! The tent is fairly new for me... it’s a Helsport Lofoten Pro 2. This was its first big trip. I did a short video using it (2 videos prior) called “Overnight in a Tunnel Tent.” I was pleased, it performed well. 👍🏼
Good stuff, we're headin' there in June. Hoping the winds aren't too bad. We've camped in 54mph gusts before and it sucked, doubt it get's that bad there. (crossing fingers)
Not sure about my buddy Nathan but I use just a cheap Ozark Trail headlamp that costs probably less than $15. Has worked wonderfully for me for a few years. It has a high/low beam and will flash also. I’ve been thinking about getting a new one that has a red light for night but haven’t pulled the trigger on that purchase yet.
It was late March/early April. You just can never tell with the wind on the coast. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best I suppose. In July, I would be prepared for the heat for sure!
Our first night we visited the lighthouse and camped on that southern side - just pitched tents near some high dunes. Second night on the northern side. There were no campsites on the beach. The only rule was to stay between dunes and vehicles should remain on ocean side of dunes.
At the time I was unaware that they weren’t allowed. The lady who checked us in at the ferry never mentioned. We were on the far north side of the island (I knew better than to get around the light house with it) and it was in the air for about 10 minutes total. Definitely will double check that rule if I go back and will not use if prohibited.
Epic trip! that day 2 morning was beautiful! An ultralight cast iron skillet, yes please!
Now, this is a cool video. 😮 who catches a shark like that?? Lol, never have I seen something like that.
Trip looked amazing -this is living life! Great scenery, great food and a massive shark 🤘Brilliant work on the video and to Nathan for planning!
Awesome adventure! I'd love to take my Jeep out there. That looked like paradise.
It’s amazing out there!
I went last year and I ended up sleeping in the car 😂 my tent was filling with a lot of sand. One of my fav places!
This trip video is awesome! We visited there around mid-February this year when it was still very cold!
I appreciate your kind words. It was my first time on the island and I loved every second of it! Thanks for watching 🙏🏼
Planning on heading there this may with some friends. Will be my first time putting my RAM on the beach. Looking forward to it.
You’ll love it. Deflate your tires before hitting the sand and then when you ferry back over they’ll be air hoses available to reinflate. Have fun!

Great video with limited youtube music. Currently planning a outer banks trip. Y'all earned my subscription, thx
Thanks Patrick! 🙏🏼
What kind of head lamps do you have? They seem pretty good.

What time of year? Seeing a ton of wind. Want to go in July with my truck camper hope it’s calmer than

When I researched there were multiple places to go. Where exactly did you go?

Are you using a drone out there? We were told that wasn’t allowed on the cape.
