Put velcro on the corners of the towel and the tray to keep the towel in place. I've had a pup get wrapped up in a towel if I wasn't home that could have been very bad. Also moms often like to make the bed which can cause problems too. I love using towels because they're affordable, very durable, give good traction, absorbent and you can just pop them in the wash like y'all said! I was reading that raising puppies on a slick surface can increase the chances of hip dysplasia. I don't know how true that is but I'd rather be safe than sorry plus I want my puppies to be able to get around easily.

We just had our final litter on Sunday 7 healthy babies. One thing I will say is what do you do with a female that isn’t happy unless all her puppies are huddles together by her tummy 🤷♀️ my girl freaks out if they’re just a couple inches away from her 🤔 yea this definitely wouldn’t work for us 😔

If she is a happy dog probably don’t worry about the discharge specially if it gets lighter and it can take the dog some time to bounce back but normally by time she has weaned othe puppies she should be back to her normal self
