Hey, I'd like to thank you so much for this tutorial , YAAP so far is the best thing for my OnePlus 7 Pro 5g, such a weird and rare phone lol

@@xpexia2594 you know what really sucks about this phone as well as if you use it on T-Mobile in the United States, it still doesn't get 5G. T-Mobile literally bought Sprint, and it still doesn't get 5G lol

Hello, In the vanilla version can I install the Gapps separately?

I just got the oneplus 7 pro 5G sprint version. I would really like to get a custom rom on it. So I guess my first step is rebranding to the EU5G version. I have no idea honestly. I wish there was a video tutorial on that

That's what this is for. The Sprint 5G is the device used in this video

I am working on one of these devices at the moment. Have a bit of an issue with trying to get yaap to boot. I can flash it but when I try to boot i loop into fastboot and the recovery is gone. Any ideas? I already pulled all my hair out lol

The OnePlus 7 pro 5g is such a pain in the ass to flash. It's more annoying than doing the OnePlus 6t. On that device you have to do the slots separately, and they need to match, and if you do them out of order or wipe the device by mistake or any thing like that, just loops
it's been so long since I've made this video that I don't exactly remember what I did so without a device in front of me to diagnose myself would be very difficult to help with
All I can say is maybe start over unfortunately

Yeah I have a 7t pro McLaren that was complicated as well. You had to flash both slots. I just keep trying to see if I can figure it out. At least it's just something to play with and not a daily.

No. T-Mobile turned that 5G off when they merged with Sprint, in the US it is gone forever, and almost no one else uses it, except two carriers in the EU, EE and Elisa. You'll have to check and see if they still do in 2024/25. I doubt it.
      From a Google search:
"Sprint's 5G network was launched in May 2019, but was shut down by T-Mobile shortly after.
Sprint's 5G network used E-UTRAN New Radio-Dual Connectivity (ENDC) to allow devices to access both 5G and LTE on the same spectrum band.
Sprint's 5G coverage maps were initially larger than those of AT&T and Verizon.
T-Mobile shut down Sprint's 2.5GHz midband 5G network to redeploy Sprint's spectrum for its own 5G network. This left owners of older Sprint 5G devices without access.
A lawsuit was filed against T-Mobile alleging that it didn't provide suitable replacement devices for its own 5G network while shutting down Sprint's."
I'd love to know what happened in that lawsuit. I know I never got contacted. Definitely would have joined the suit! Fuck T-Mobile!

I have the non 5G model do I need to go find the ROM for the 4G version? thank you.

    • @TechX1320
      @TechX1320  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

There are several ROMs for the non 5g. You're watching the wrong videos if you're looking up for the 4G variant. If you go to XDA developers, there's a whole section for the OnePlus 7 Pro 4G and everything in that section basically will work for it. Finding stuff for the 5G is the difficult one and why nobody should buy the 5G if you want to root and wrong

It seems that the YAAP zip is designed to be installed on slot B. This means you want to start this process with your updated stock ROM on slot A.
Each update toggles the slot. If things aren't working, calculate which slot to start from the non-updated stock ROM with. For example, I needed to install Android 9 on slot B. I had one OTA update, which went to slot A. If you get two OTA updates, install Android 9 on slot A, then do the updates.
