I'm a millenial and a mom of three and I enjoy your show and your friendship with each other so much. It makes me miss and fondly think of my college friends and my life pre-marriage/pre-motherhood. This conversation was great, but I think it'll be one you revisit in your minds 10yrs from now because friendships change so much over time as your life seasons change. My very best friends who I have known and been friends with for 15+ years (I'm 35), are now so difficult to maintain relationships with through no one's fault. These are people I always consider lifelong friends, and if I called them in crisis they'd be there and vice versa, but in this season it seems like friendships have taken a pause. I have a handful of girlfriends I'd do anything for, yet we're trying to maintain some sort of relationship through sharing memes and marco polo videos because phone calls are hard to line up between work and kids and in-person time is a far-fetched dream because of distance or life schedules. All of my close friends now have multiple children under the age of 8 and most don't live in my town. I had surprise twins and a toddler and had to disappear for a while friendship wise just to survive. This stage of life feels lonely without a more constant friendship presence, but I am hoping that as our kids get older we'll be able to find our way back to each other. This conversation made me realize I need to prioritize a few close friends who I know are also trying to prioritize me when they're able to, and I might need to let a few go and love them from afar and maybe we'll drift back and maybe not. It also gets hard to prioritize friendships when you have little ones and they take so much time and energy and have to be your priority, but it leaves your spouse with less of you than they deserve, so then you need to prioritize your marriage, and just fitting friends in there too feels nearly impossible unless they live right next door and your paths have to cross. Anyways, thanks for the entertaining and thoughtful content. - Lindsey
