that made no sense. propane lasts several hours while butane lasts a few hours? obviously it depends on how big the flame is set. and the emissions bit is incorrect. combustion of butane produces only carbon dioxide and water. CO2 *is* a greenhouse gas, although it’s not as vile as some others, and the amounts being released by a camp stove are negligible. the empty butane canister, while disposable, is certainly recyclable.
Butane cant be used once the temp drops below approximately 50 degrees or so
