A few months ago I was lucky enough to record the creature of Enrico Sartori and his crew of the Brill Steel Motorsport, a little Italian company specialized in the importation and sale of all those American cars for sports use, but especially in the creation and preparation of racing cars (drifting/time attack) with strictly American V8s.
The car you see in this video is just a piece of art and a sort of dream of how a perfect drift car should be. The starting point was a Nissan Silvia S14 chassis to which has been associated a 480hp LS3 engine.
After some years and hours of work now the car is ready. The engine now is able to produce 717hp (which become 945 with N2O) at 6500 rpm and 896 lb ft of torque. The body, has you can see, is an all original Nissan S15 body recreated in full carbon with wide wheel arches. Finally, the big spoiler. The central part is from a Lamborghini Super Trofeo to which were then added to the two sides and the very high support.
Unfortunately, even in this video you will not see the car in action, but you can appreciate the beautiful work with a nice in-depth tour and you can also hear the roar of the LS engine with its lovely and addicted idle followed by some furious revs.

@@THESLlCK first of all, it's pretty clearly a time attack build and not a drift build. none of that aero would actually make sense on a drift car. it would get destroyed in seconds. also, the whole running gear setup has grip written all over it rather than "this thing was made to go sideways and scrape walls with its rear end".
second, where do you think drifting on very serious purpose built drift cars (1000hp, wisefab, fully stripped interior etc) is happening? they don't take FD or D1 cars to the streets nor mountain roads (other than maybe to shoot a promo video, shit people like chris forsberg and ryan tuerck do), they take them to race tracks.
@@tommisaarinen2394 Hey clownshow, Brill Steel is the one who said it's a drift car. It's on drift tires, custom wheels, and a setup made for drifting. Not everyone who drifts uses a total hoopla drift missile. The aero you see is to keep it from oversteering at very high speeds. It's a NASCAR hemispherical head V8 built for extreme revs with high torque. You simply don't know what you're talking about. Stop guessing and start learning.

However, that's still besides the main point of argument - I said I want to see this thing on the track to which you replied "it's a drift car" which still as a response doesn't make a whole lot of sense... that second point of mine still stands.
@@THESLlCK Also I'm not expecting that everyone drifts beat up shitboxes, that's a stretch. Look at that massive diffuser and that wing stretching out so far back. Just like that SH article says, the aerodynamic solutions aren't really the most conventional ones possible for drifting - and I wouldn't really see all of that working out all too well at least in a competition setting, but since this thing still seems to be just a show car that is very rarely driven hard I guess whether it's practical to run stuff like that or not doesn't really matter a whole lot.
And by inconvenient I don't mean non-functional, I'm just saying I'd rather go with something else than be replacing all of that after every day spent on the track because it's just bound to hit something and get destroyed. Also, I know very well what aero is used for, you don't need to educate me on that part.

Reid Smith by tuning the original engine, the S14 and 15 both had highly modifiable engines and could make a lot of power without doing much to them, Americans aren’t the only ones who can make powerful engines ya know

they never will at idle the engine is tuned to run high revs not low revs
There is something so badass about an irregular idle and white lettered tires spinning at medium cruising speed

Its a track only car built for time attack racing where aerodynamics come into play, big time. When it come to honest to goodness performance items, they tend to be ugly as hell. Form takes a distant back seat to function. For somebody who actually competes in racing, this car is a thing of beauty. The aggressive cam and fuel mapping on the LSX is music to our ears. The suspension components milled from billet aluminum are artwork. To normal people, yeah. This car is ugly as hell and sounds like shit. That why I'm glad that I'm a petrol head and this car gives me an erection. ^.~

a formula one car has probably more downforce and grip hen this and i love how it looks, a veyron, mclaren p1 ect.....all probably have better aero dynamics then this car but still they are beautifull and imo also sound better so it's possible to be good looking and have it to be functional to so they did a bad job on it.

Of course a supercar is gonna strike a better silhouette of a Nissan S chassis, that's what is was made for, to look pretty and go fast. But, you are missing the point of this vehicle. Time Attack. How "beautiful" a car is the last thing on your mind. Only shaving off time from lap matters. What makes the most Df? A stupid big ass wing with a Big honkin' diffuser and front lip, lol. The Ls motor you don't like the sound of? It's the perfect motor to make big power on for cheap. They could have made it sound like anything. Sounds not a big deal. So you're not thinking of this from a performance perspective, only the aesthetics. So no, they did an amazing job.
