My cats knocked over my small colony with at least 40 dubia's, found 5 and like 15 stayed in.. So mow there's 20 dubias running around in my room. Thanks cats.

Sorry, but I laughed! i have two cats and know all too well how cats can tip over stuff they really shouldn't. My 7 Dubai's are in a 12x12x18 Zilla right now but all they do is hide way up on top of the fake background, I'll be moving them to a 5.5 gallon planted terrarium situation (cat proof of course). 😉

Funny thing: I had to switch from B. Dubia to crickets for my Emperor Scorpion. I had no choice. He simply refused to eat them. Point of fact, he made friends with them. As a result, I had several as pets. I ended up buying several crickets, put them in and when they were gone, I repeated the process. I understand where you are coming from with the Dubias. However, I couldn't let my Scorpion starve.

I love dubia.. They're in fact good feeders in terms of meat and shell ratio.. Problem with dubias is that they play possum.. What's irritating about them is they can even stay motionless for hours playing mexican standoffs with your pets for survival sakes! My orange head roaches never does that..

Dubia roaches are definitely clean and great feeder insects. It's a shame I have such a horrible phobia of roaches. Can't do it.

Dubias can be great but they play dead for hours at a time and like to burrow, prompting me to switch to lateralis roaches for my tarantulas.

The only thing I hated about crickets is they all dropped dead in about 2 weeks, I kept them for pets after my praying mantis decided she didn't like eating them (along with Dubia roaches and mealworms, she loves bottle flies though). Crickets were so fun to watch when I first put them in their tank with climbing sticks and food, I always got so sad as they started dropping dead.

I found one in my house. I live in Texas. I had never seen one, I had to Google it to find out what it was. I'm wondering , how did it get here? 😳

Also they live longer so you will have a colony last longer.

I’m trying to figure out a food source for my Tarantula sling without me worrying whether or not it’s food will eat it. I’ve been squishing crickets heads to feed my T. But I want it to get experience finding food too

I believe that is the "egg"
Dubias don't really lay eggs like some roaches.

If you buy an adult mix you will most likely have pregnant females, so the cycle starts very quickly.

i have about a 14 to 17 inch head to tail bearded dragon i also never owned one before its a rescue i got from a friend that they got from a person that should not have owned it.. the day light bulb is an energy saving light that doesn't even make heat...enough said.
anyways i had to make a gofudme cuz i need to wait till i get more money and im eating out of cans to give this lizard a good life and 90% of my money is going to her i refuse to allow an animal to suffer, iam glad she loves her collard greens only 2$ lol anyways what size roach would be good for a dragon her size? i can't afford to get anything wrong and would like to get a size she wont need to eat lots of per day also do they need to be dusted with calcium powder as well?
