My girlfriend from south Korea was wealthy. Her dad bought her a £280 k house which she shared with her sister while at University for only 5 years. She told me the parents are willing to spend vast amounts for education and it's common, the thing is she felt the pressure because how can you let them down spending that much money? It was a 4 bedroom and far too big for 2 people. She told me her family would never except to me, imagine that :). Because of status. Was a great 4 years thou, she was free as a bird and took every opportunity for fun.
