Lesson 8 - Country & Bluegrass Rhythm Course
Let’s spice up our country rhythm guitar even more! In this guitar lesson, I’ll teach you a classic country rhythm guitar pattern and we’ll practice using a progression in the style of “Choices” by George Jones. I’ll also show you some old school melodic country fills in the Key of D. We’ll break down the entire practice progression with tablature and I’ll give you some helpful country rhythm tips throughout the guitar lesson. Very good lesson. Only question I have is that on the original recording of Choices the D riffs/fills don't start on beat one. Do you agree?
Hey Ray - Yeah, if you listen closely to the original recording, the fills start at all sorts of random places..some are on the 4 count...some you'll hear on the "and" count after 3 count..some on beat one. This lesson here is just "in the style of" to show some cool concepts. I find that riffs starting on beat one similar to the riffs I chose for this progression are easier to transfer to other songs.
