I loved how the two characters are in reversed gender roles without it being too obvious, she was leading with her head all the time, while he was constantly in his own feelings and ego, she's gradualy more and more sexually aggressive and he was avoiding sex and almost like in a deffenssive position right up until the scene in the bathroom where they shortly switch roles and then at the end they switch back and she's so brutal and shows zero mercy.
I felt it could have been intresting if they kept showing that both characters were valid in the way they were feeling which I felt they did up until the third act then they went to much in one direction I am not against coworker relationships but I don’t believe they should happen in very competive environments like hedgefunds
I really liked this one a lot. Fantastic performances, and I really admire the writing in this movie, because while eventually you inevitably end up siding with one of these two characters, you can (at least at first) kind of see both of their points of view. I get the frustration, I understand where it’s coming from - it’s only later where one of these characters actually shows their true colors by handling the situation the way they do.
I like this movie a lot. I think it provides a fresh story, the acting and dialogue are pretty good. Certain plot points are a bit far fetched. I don’t see it being a realistic reactions to someone just jealous of their spouse workplace success. I don’t side with neither of them, but that relationship was doomed to fail day one. Given the competitive and tense nature of their work. Even if the guy gets the promotion first, if they got married, over time the girl can still eclipse him. Marriage is a long commitment with lots of twist and turns. If the guy already acted like this from the get go, there’s no way this union is going to last.

I thought the movie was as a story, good and interesting if it wasn’t for this whole feminist spiel. They covert the whole palette with him being jealous, her being naturally better and the only thing holding her back is evil patriarchy, her earning more, gender supposed to be just a social construct, the abusive „husband“, sexist men, the amber heard make up cover-up reference and of course the s*xual assault scene where she said stop and he didn’t. But the movie kinda showed its color at the end where she wanted him to beg for mercy in that its all about power 🤷🏽♂️

Because the movie's critical acclaim at Sundance, Netflix had the balls the buy the rights for $20 million. That's pretty huge for a movie deal of course. And I think Sanctuary is in Hulu
I really like the acting from the two main leads. The only thing is that I wish there was a twist at the end where one person was actually playing the game one step ahead a bit more and then that would have brought it over the top.
This is dumb I’m a woman and their relationship is toxic she shouldn’t have went to the strip club with coworker to come home telling her partner sex stories she hit him with a glass bottle first she was going out in the middle of the night which if he did so he would’ve been accused of cheating then she even painted him as a stalker wtf!

@@anti4330 - Eh, been tons of these sorts of movies since the 1970s and they’re almost always the same (man = bad, woman = good). They are propaganda pieces that the political Left feminists use to create division and conflict in RL between two (or more) groups of people, in this case men and women. A better movie would have shown this couple both walk away from this firm and the evils of money and power over one another and chosen their love and friendship instead as being more important to them. I feel like the only winner in this movie was “the system.” Surely the government and big corp loves men and women to be divided. Results in more tax revenue for government to have women single and working jobs in competition against men and that also amounts to more money being spent to enrich the lives of wealthy CEOs at the top of Big Corp. Meanwhile the majority of men and women are divided and at odds and living alone and miserable. That’s where we are today in RL. Men are walking away from dating and marriage and women are doing the same and not having kids. Society will collapse because of this so this is why the Left opens the floodgates to illegal immigrants to make up for the failed policies of the Left that have divided men and women and made them competitors and enemies of one another. Anyways, it shows that it ruined this couple’s love and friendship and divided them. If anything, I guess it teaches people it’s best to not work at the same place as someone you’re in a relationship with. That’s always been a bad idea.
