3:07 in most states, an uncontrolled intersection is to be treated as a 4 way yield, with the vehicle approaching from the right having the right of way, opposite of that to a roundabout where the vehicles coming from the left having right of way.
11:57 Rahul is an idiot. He's driving quickly through that parking lot and could clearly see the Nissan and what it would likely do far before anything happened. Even if the Nissan needed to yield in that scenario (it varies), he then proceeded to tailgate the Nissan out of the parking lot and make a reckless maneuver by pulling alongside the Nissan immediately. Any competent defensive driver would be likely aware that the Nissan is not very aware of their surroundings and would give them plenty of room. I'm sure most people watching knew what was about to happen as he pulled next to her. Yes, it's technically not his fault, but he sure did put himself in a position for that to happen.
that was my first reaction when I saw that clip. Defensive driving would have easily prevented this while not wasting any time. One silly accident saved, and your many few seconds lost in defensive driving are worth it!
I believe the driver is supposed to yield to the person who was there first even in an uncontrolled intersection. I could be wrong but I think that is what is supposed to happen.
3:25 It’s an uncontrolled intersection, classic 50/50. Dakota should stop blaming the other driver and accept they were both at fault because going through an uncontrolled intersection at nearly 30 mph without slowing down is asking for trouble.
Yea I’ve never seen a fully uncontrolled intersection like this in a neighborhood zone like that, but even if the other sides have stops signs I still slow down😂
“Her car changed lanes for a reason” only for it to immediately move left and go around the car in front of her, putting her back in the middle closer to the crash 😂
I say this again and again. Do not pass on the right at unsafe speed. Pushing your car past another car in less than a second after taking a turn is not good driver's practice. Just don't. Traffic is not a competition and we all have the responsibility to drive in a safe way, at all times.
Your last point is correct. But she was fully in the left lane. He had no way of knowing she would decide to change lanes when if she had wanted to be in the right lane, she should have turned into it. It was perfectly safe (and legal) of him to turn into the proper lane and drive straight.
I don't drive a Tesla, so I use FSA (Full Situational Awareness) to avoid collisions. It's been around since the dawn of time and available to everyone.
Having indepent driven wheels by an electric motor is better than having 4WD on a Pickup but have better tires is always gonna make the most difference so just because they are gas vehicles doesnt me they are worse then a tesla with Battery that took shit tons of emissions to make...
Right?! There are a few in the L.A. area where I grew up and my parents still live, but those are 'T' intersections where the driver whose road ends is required to give ROW to the driver on the through street. A couple of them actually have STOP signs now, but not sure why since we all know who has ROW. These 4 way uncontrolled intersections are just danger zones waiting for a death or paralyzed accidents victims.

Why do people attribute random chance to FSD. There was nothing impressive there except the lack of braking. The grey Nissan has the right idea by slowing down.
@crperformance1 the white sedan in the center lane in the lead braked heavily for seemingly no reason (there might be a reason off camera) but otherwise that braking is likely the cause. The majority of collisions are caused by idiots driving in close proximity to one another on the highway, slowing and braking for no reason. Not speed (unless you count slow impeding dangerous speed).
For the one in Wisconsin he should be glad he’s only 45% responsible. Having grown up with and learned how to drive with many cross streets like that where two side streets cross and there’s no stop sign each driver is responsible for slowing down and looking before you cross the intersection so it should’ve been 50/50.
@ you slowdown and look 👀 it’s not that hard. As I said I grew up around streets just like that and it’s why you don’t go flying at 30mph down a side street.
Hey someone let Dakota know to stop driving through the hood on his way to work. You know the roads are all fucked up out there. No stop signs where they should be.
1:06 The car who caused the crash is a Buick, it might be a Regal GS Turbo 2014-2017 model, the shape & style of the tail lights can be a big identifier.
It's a Buick... Tesla is at least partially responsible for this, FSD was tailgating before changing lanes, then delayed braking when that truck moved out of the way. Yes if the Buick hadn't stopped it wouldn't have happened, however the Tesla FSD was slow to react.
I don’t understand why you’d think the tailgater was using FSD. I use FSD daily, and it doesn’t drive that aggressively. It would provide more notice with its turn signals of its intent, unless an emergency. However the vehicle capturing this footage is very typical of FSD - anticipating an accident before it’s even visible to a human, changing lanes out of the way of the stopped vehicle, then avoiding two more collisions cleanly before the driver took control. Most likely if the other Tesla had FSD enabled, it would have seen the slowing driver (before switching lanes behind the truck) and never have anticipated that switching lanes was a good idea. You’d also see an immediate reaction to the stopped car of some kind, whereas here we so no indication that the driver noticed the stopped car until it was too late.
A good example of why you shouldn’t drive close to the person in front of you. The white Y was driving too close to the car in the left lane and changed lanes too close behind the truck. They would have had more reaction time if they kept their distance.
0:51 Tesla rear ended the car front of it, no matter if they are going slow, tesla didnt even hesitate rear ending the car instead of braking of trying to change lanes.
But if the license plate goes to a different car, it won't be helpful at all. If the detective can make positive ID of the car model and the plate matches it, the owner would be in some serious trouble
Yeah he should be grateful they're only assigning him 45% liability. Uncontrolled intersections mean you follow "right" of way where drivers from your right get priority.
Crash one was a classic Crash 4 Cash scam move by the car in front, if police want to find the car that initially stopped in the middle of the road they'll have to subpoena the phone records/emails of the car that stopped behind it that is getting all the insurance bucks .
If drivers pay attention, they can 'predict' & properly react to almost all events in front of them. Using 'full auto driving mode' will become a recipe for reduced or no actual driving skills in the future. I love the technology, but hate the consequences. People in love with 'not having to do it themselves' should skip the 100K for the Tesla & take a taxi.
Agree everyone can properly react if they are paying attention, and react better than FSD. But it’s rare that people pay attention 100% of the time. An automated system can “never take its eyes off the road”, even if its decision making is worse. And, FSD can does and will make mistakes, often human-like mistakes. So while I’m sure humans can drive better than FSD, I’m also sure that FSD drives better than many humans.
@@Golfzilla1961look how long gas vehicles have been around, they are nowhere near perfect either, they still produce many turds themselves. There are lots of those intersections in west seattle neighborhoods. Still seems odd that they dont at least put a yield sign on the non-right of way road.
Initial cause yes, but the Tesla is at fault in this as well. Was following several vehicles too closely and delayed braking when that truck moved out of the way. Other cars were able to stop for the Buick just fine because they were clearly paying attention to the road and not following too closely.
There is still partial fault on the Tesla for not stopping in time. You need to Have enough stopping distance from the car in front of you so you can stop at any moment

Dakota should count himself lucky that the minivan driver's insurance provider is picking up 55% liability. Granted over 52 years I have only been licensed in 4 states, but anywhere I have been licensed an uncontrolled intersection like the in Dakota's video is an implied 4 way stop.
If they were exactly in the center they would do a straight line. So I wouldn't wonder that they don't do circles when they are slightly away from the center. In fact they make one turn in the same distance where the whole wheel makes one turn. But with far less diameter. So it's almost a straight line.
7:00 Honestly, at this point, it should be rather obvious why there's so much hate toward Tesla. Elon's salute has been widely condemned as has his proximity with the current US president. While i do sympathise with Tesla owners, I have a hard time supporting the company at this time.
Well they are. The Tesla was driving dangerously close to the Honda first and then changed lanes to go dangerously close behind a pickup truck where bow they couldn't see anything ahead of them. That was aggressive driving imo
That’s BS trying to pin 45% on Dakoda. His insurance will win the subrogation battle because he had already cleared more than 50% of that intersection before impact where the other driver hadn’t entered the intersection yet.
The cyber truck was going slow at a steady pace, of course it’s going to maintain control, any vehicle can maintain control at low speeds, teslas aren’t special
I'll never understand the hate towards Teslas. Most people buy Teslas because they like the car, not due to political stances. If you don't like Elon, fine that's on you, but still be respectful of other people's property. If you feel the need to take time out of your day to vandalize a Tesla or harass someone you've never met before because they're driving a Tesla, then that tells me enough about how miserable you are. It's just a freaking car, it has no effect on your life whatsoever.
No. There aren't that many. It's just that there are so many accidents in the US per year there will always be a percentage involving any brand, no matter how good it is. Phillip.
@philliptemple9841 it's not a rumor. Even in this comment section people are posting "swasticar" because of what elon did. He's hurting the company and customers and needs to go.
#12 Uncontrolled intersection 50/50 at fault. While Dakota claims the other driver did not slow or was distracted the same goes for Dakota at the intersection.
Dakota S could have avoided the collision. The narrator said this was at an uncontrolled intersection which if they actually come to a full completed stop treated as an All-way stop. Look left look straight ahead , look right, loo oh shoot I think this minivan on my right is just going to barrel through the intersection. Dakota only got into an accident because of a full sense of security. If both vehicles had to come to a complete stop and treat this as an All-way. Then proceed when it is safe to do so. The minivan would have right away, they would have got to go first not Dakota
Pick ups and large SUV’s are a problem on our highways. If a person doesn’t have a farm, a commercial need or toys to pull a pickup or SUV are not needed. So many of the buyers of large format vehicles seem to buy them to act as highway bullies and to intimidate other drivers. They absolutely have to go 15-50 miles above the speed limits and snuggle up to our bumpers like highway proctologists. I would like to see our police agencies do 24 x 7 emphasis patrols targeting oversized vehicles.
I don't quite understand the first clip. Any driver who is focused on what they are doing - driving - should be able to swerve here given the distance the car is from the incident. If she says she wasn't able to react in time, maybe she should stay off public roads and highways and don‘t rely on an external brain.
3:57 The other insurance company was correct. Traveling about 45 ft. per second in a 15 ft. long car, if Dakoda had arrived 1/3 of a second earlier, it would have been Dakoda that hit the other car, and not vice versa. Dakoda claims the other driver was distracted, but obviously so was Dakoda.
4:34 I don't know who'd be responsible over there, but in the Netherlands Dakoda would be responsible, because the other car came from the right, meaning that the other car had right of way. The only way it would be shared blame is if the car from the right was also proven to be speeding.

It's unfortunate that the insurance company will deem the tesla driver 100% at fault instead of the white car
Well they are. The Tesla was driving dangerously close to the Honda first and then changed lanes to go dangerously close behind a pickup truck where bow they couldn't see anything ahead of them. That was aggressive driving imo
Welcome back, wham baam here's something you deserve: 👑
bro that first accident was caused by the speeding tesla driver not the white cars fault LMFAO
Amazed at the people sliding in the ice. You need the correct tyres or chains.
no shock at 9:00, all I can say is "Well Well Well"
I'm commenting this 8 minutes before this video is published 😁
That’s BS trying to pin 45% on Dakoda. His insurance will win the subrogation battle because he had already cleared more than 50% of that intersection before impact where the other driver hadn’t entered the intersection yet.
The cyber truck was going slow at a steady pace, of course it’s going to maintain control, any vehicle can maintain control at low speeds, teslas aren’t special
I can’t stand Elon…but dang. Tesla’s are amazing!! That first video FSD was GOLD
We’re so back, baby!
First Clip: Oh shoot, where's my transponder. I must stop before going through the toll gate. SMH
I’m guessing many people attacking Tesla’s and Cybertruck’s because of seeing Elon Musk salute?
Unfortunately
No. There aren't that many. It's just that there are so many accidents in the US per year there will always be a percentage involving any brand, no matter how good it is.
Phillip.
@@FireCracker3240 No they aren't. You are simply hoping to incite this by spreading this rumour around. You are not a good person.
Phillip.
@FireCracker3240 the tesla board needs to grow a pair and boot him out.
What happened to wham baam security cam
What the Hell is wrong with these people nowday?
cybertrucks are so hated lol
Dakota S could have avoided the collision. The narrator said this was at an uncontrolled intersection which if they actually come to a full completed stop treated as an All-way stop.
Look left look straight ahead , look right, loo oh shoot I think this minivan on my right is just going to barrel through the intersection. Dakota only got into an accident because of a full sense of security.
If both vehicles had to come to a complete stop and treat this as an All-way. Then proceed when it is safe to do so. The minivan would have right away, they would have got to go first not Dakota
The car that stopped on the highway was a Buick
The car that stopped suddenly that caused the four vehicle collision was a Buick
God I missed you wham bam!
Wow where do you live? 50 over? 😮
Not sure how Dakota's case will turn out but that intersection needs a couple stop signs.
4:34 I don't know who'd be responsible over there, but in the Netherlands Dakoda would be responsible, because the other car came from the right, meaning that the other car had right of way. The only way it would be shared blame is if the car from the right was also proven to be speeding.
2:01 i would say the tesla is at fault, you can clearly see that driver was asleep
Courtney's car can determine what's going to happen far ahead, but the other Model Y cannot react to the car stopping right infront? hummmmmmm
