    You missed the Coptic or Ethiopian cross. It's a very important symbol of Christianity in Africa.

    Apropos Alsace-Lorraine, the less partisan story: "Alsace is part of France, its borders have not always been clear. The region has been passed between French and German control several times since 1681, when Strasbourg was conquered by French forces. As a result, Alsatian culture is a unique mix of French and German influences."

    edit
    The territory of present-day Slovakia was an integral part of the Kingdom of Hungary from the 10th century until the Treaty of Trianon in 1920. Many of its cities gained privileges and coats of arms from the Hungarian kings, often containing the kings' own coat of arms.

    Emperor constantine the first emperor to convert to Christianity send his mother Helena to Jerusalem to find Jesus cross and they found it and part of it was given to different people do do NOT say Jesus christ did not died on a cross.then you sound like Jehovas mormons etc....The Bible also tells us about the cross,,,When Jesus was dead he was liftet down and burried in this cave...People who not Belive in the Bible or on Jesus Christ can deny any thing and satan wants us to not belive in the Bible etc...

    The cross. Holding back mankind for over 2,000 years.

      The "cross" a problem no not really, two pieces of wood "no not really", however mans belief or disbelief in symbols as taught is a problem. How many ways are there to say the word "no" ? In hundreds of languages, in hand signals, in facial expression in body language etc, and yet most of us understand that no means no, not a maybe. If the cross is part of the problem then why do we only look at and believe that it was the cross in the middle that is/was the problem? What about the ones on either side, where they not of wood and also men left to die? To die next to the greatest man in history has to be a honor to be recognized through out history. ourselves

      This is the most ignorant comment I've seen so far, Christianity was the backbone of Western Culture, even the division of church and State is a Christian concept, which can be traced back to when Jesus said give unto Ceaser that which is Ceaser's and give unto God that which is God's. You can thank also Christianity for Universities, Human Rights, etc, etc, etc. The Cross is the best thing that ever happened to humanity.

    The ankh was before all that shit you showed yo hand when u said the swastika was cross though

    • @SymbolSage
      @SymbolSage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Tavoris - thanks for stopping by. The crosses on this list aren't in chronological order - you'll find the Ankh also included. The swastika is a cross - it has two arms that cross at the center - and in the East, it's still considered a sacred symbol. However, as we've mentioned, the Nazi association has tainted this ancient symbol.
