Its so funny listening to you grudgingly admitting that Corn is actually a really good bait. All I can say is that I always have some in my bag or on my tray dependent on where I am fishing. On my local complex Warwick Wold near Redhill corn has been out fishing all other baits and winning with weights up to 257Lbs. I think it deserves a place on your Tray. Good Video Joe. Cheers
I'm with you Joe - I refuse to eat the stuff at home. me dog turns her nose up at it and its best fed to pigeons. Maybe OK for blending up for groundbait but its a room 101 for me. Great video buddy as always, tight lines,
Another great one Joe! I can see where you're coming from, I don't have much confidence in the stuff, but this autumn and winter, I'm giving it a bash. Would have been good to see you hand it in as you would with pellet as a comparison.
Well done Joe sweet corn on its is a excellent bite it has caught me lots of carp and big chub but all so sweetcorn and hemp mixed together can be a winning white in any match all the best god bless you Joe
Good video. In summer I rarely feed it but find it a good change hook bait especially for bream. Autumn, winter and spring I use it more. You’ve inspired me to try it tomorrow at my club lake.
its all i use for a hookbait when fishing in the edge for carp in summer had my biggest matchweight this year with corn on the hook its deadly when done right great vid joe. Hope to do a lot of bomb and corn this winter as doing the lindholme saterday bomb and feeder league hope you have great winter joe
I’ve had great results with it, I remember when going up from Kent to fish the Glebe on a guest ticket, Roy Marlow sat on my box and gave me a corn fishing lesson, I was using cheaper corn but he told me he only ever used green giant. I must admit I carried on with the cheap stuff until a mate convinced me the green giant was the way to go. 3 cans are still cheaper at £3.20 than a pint of maggots at £3.50.
So nice to see that even pros can have a totally irrational dislike for a good bait. My nemesis is bread. I know how effective it can be but I b****y hate fishing it. Love me a bit of sweetcorn though
Hi bud, enjoy watching you (especially when paste fishing) fishing. I like using Corned Beef as a paste, works great. Anyway, can you tell me, "When does a Skimmer become a Bream??
Funnily enough Joe I feel exactly the same about paste - I hate it 😂 Way back in the late 90's/ early 2000's when I was in my late teens I ended up getting nicknamed the sweetcorn kid as I caught so much on it! That said, this year I've only fished F1 dominated venues and it's not quite so good in the warmer months and I've largely just fished hard pellet.
Great video Joe Lots of good info about stable float etc, did you pot in every time to catch a fish or a few fish per pot ??? Also keep to 25 minute videos as it’s perfect for lunchtime at work Cheers Mark
As a wise man once said, "Let it not scare you...embrace the corn, young man.... combine it with hemp and thou shalt be inundated with bulging keepnets heaving with Cyprinids"- Isaac Walton
I hate it, other than on natural venues, my confidence isn't great when using it. However this year I have been using it plenty and had some okay results, I've persevered with it and I am getting there. Meat's been less good this year, so forced my hand in many ways.
Joe lol you are convincing yourself, I hate corn would have rather sat there on pea paste, silvers love it as do carp in winter , I’ll always give corn a go but if not had a bite in 5 seconds then that’s it , may be that’s why I never catch on that stuff 😂😂
I fish 'natural' venues. In fact they are 'carpy' venues. I have caught when the boilie carpers in their bivvy's cannot get a blip, let alone a run. Corn is one of my favourite hook baits. I guess the carp think its 'spod spill' and think its 'safe' and easy to digest. Commercial carp may associate it with margin fishing or bomb and corn so they see it as 'dangerous'. The bulk of 'safe' freebies in commercials are probably pellets. May be they are fed on pellets so much they don't see it as a food source. But....I think when you are fishing it on the pole or on the tip corn it should form a small portion of your feed. It should be a nice bright stand out bait. May be 10-20% of your loose feed. The bulk can be pellet, hemp or ground bait. I also mix in some dead reds to give me a change up hook bait.
@@MatchFishingFilms but do u try it properly not,I love it cheap bright heavy works in summer and winter, stop being a pellet snob ... Lol all baits have there day joking apart

Not even sure the pigeons would fancy it 😂

maybe next time :)
I have no confidence in corn either Joe. Watching your video it appears to me its how you feed corn compared to pellet. Great video Joe 😊
Rubbish bait ha ha
Best landing net head I've ever used, got the large head but the shallow nature of it makes getting to the fish super easy. So strong too!
I’m genuinely still on the first one I had! Yes they are a touch heavier than others but they don’t let you down

Great vid Joe; your explain things so well and a nautural in front of camera.🐟🐠🎣
Wow thank you! I don't think I am but thanks for the kind words it means a lot
Good video. In summer I rarely feed it but find it a good change hook bait especially for bream. Autumn, winter and spring I use it more. You’ve inspired me to try it tomorrow at my club lake.
Yes I agree it is still a good hook bait. Especially as a visual winter bait!
Nice video Joe 👍👏
Thanks 👍

You’d catch more on paste Deano 😂

Corned Beef!
Yup Joe spot on I never catch on Corn, funny thing Yellow wafter love then
Hi joe before all the carp we had bream and tench ,they loved corn .also this is before pellets an fancy groundbaits lol

I just think the fish see too many pellets now for corn to be a valid bait!
Great video Joe

:) I found a pot after every carp important
It hasn't worked for me for years Joe, it may catch the odd one buried in method occasionally.
Just bin it. It's the worst bait ever😂😂😂😂, another super video
shocking bait!
I've never caught on sweetcorn, in 54 years of fishing !!!

Great video, i'm of the same opinion with sweetcorn...no confidence whatsoever ! Out of curiosity what pole are you using Joe ?
Me too. Can't remember when I last used it. No confidence whatsoever using it.
A superium carp :)

Just rubbish 😂
Me too never had any confidence in it
Put it into a tuna pasta bake then . And you can have a healthy meal whilst fishing.. chilli powder gives corn an edge tench and carp love chilli

Yes it definitely has it's place... just not where I fish ha ha
I use it all yr round carp love the stuff its the best bait ive fiind for the hook for carp all fish love the stuff
:)
Great bait at cudmore and Blake hall fisheries ( 6 miles from Alton towers)
Paste over loads of corn ..kevin wadge Parkdean master
Yea that's a good method!
Still not putting it on the hook though ha ha

good point... great bait ha ha
