Models and pictures of these and other ships give little to the imagination as to their real size. I saw a replica built of John Cabots ship in Bristol, UK, some years ago. I was a amazed. I've seen larger boats on the river. With our massive liners and cargo ships today, it seems impossible that such small craft could have created so much human history. Thank you. I've forgotten most of what you have covered. Its rather a long time since I was last at school. 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧

I've lived in the Caribbean and studied the Taino and Caribe cultures in depth. I can say that your video as well as their depiction, their culinary customs, traditions, knowledge, culture, etc. are in agreement with the best of our current knowledge on them.

Pretty accurate video including the map of the fort though it was destroyed and archeologists have had much difficulty in recreating it on paper. Some evidence shows that the Caribs were the main force in assisting the Tainos though they were enemies. That shows that they combined forces as most clans did world wide to fight against a foreign "new" enemy.

According to one source a Taino group were led by a Carib chief who married into the tribe

People in general, no matter where they were from, were savages in our modern society. Times were different and everyone was armed in some form. You couldn’t call 911 so you had to protect yourself. The only law was that who served the wealthy and those below had to deal with things themselves. Damn! It seems like things never change.

NOTE TO THE READER !...THE TANIO HAD "CANOES",..... THAT WERE CLOSE TO THE SPELLING OF THE CAJUN WORD "PIROGUES".... IN FRENCH.......BEING OF FRENCH ORGIN, ......FROM SOUTH WEST LOUISIANA, ....A CAJUN.... I KNOW THAT THIS IS TRUE... MANY FRENCH AND SPEANISH WORDS WERE COMBINED OVER 100'S OF YEARS INTO DIFFERENT SOUNDS AND SPELLINGS... THE FACT THAT THE NARRATOR OF THIS STORY... CAME CLOSE TO THE WORD "PIROGUES" ..............TELLS ME THAT HE DID HIS RESEARCH WELL....

I’m old, but didn’t Cook explore the west coast of America and up to Alaska? The Cook Islands are named for him. Read a story about him stopping for fresh water in what is now Northern California and a tribe of natives approached his party, speaking their language. A Chinese cook who went ashore with the landing party was able to communicate with the natives and saved them from being attacked, instead they traded goods. Been over 45 years or so since I read that, so memory might be a little bit fuzzy on timelines.

Hollywood and alot paintings seemingly make those ships appear humongous but in actuality those ships were small. History definitely went tons of manipulation
