Born and raised in Kentucky, but spent lots of time in Appalachia of Northeast Tennessee. This song perfectly describes just how peaceful life down there was: the fog from the lake rising next to Pine Mountain, the neighbor's rooster's morning crow, and the warm nights with birds' chirps echoing off the surrounding hills. This song is inspiration, and I think my parents grew up like Dolly Parton in the 1940´s and 1950´s with Second World War and maybe 10 years after. My Mom with 88 now is often talking about this. They only had a small farm and house with 6 brothers and sisters. In winter times their bedrooms were like ice cold but they all became great personalities! Thanks again Dolly Parton for a song which all make us think about Life. The wealth we all have today is however not for granted! I am thankful of having had the chance growing up within a farm. It is now in the hands of my sister and brother in law, and in summer time I love to drive the tractor and making hay for all the horse owners around, this gives me some compensation to my job. So we always got in free. She went to Sevier County High, I graduated in 1959, 5 years ahead of her She started there in1960, and graduated in 1963.

This song is inspiration, and I think my parents grew up like Dolly Parton in the 1940´s and 1950´s with Second World War and maybe 10 years after. My Mom with 88 now is often talking about this. They only had a small farm and house with 6 brothers and sisters. In winter times their bedrooms were like ice cold but they all became great personalities! Thanks again Dolly Parton for a song which all make us think about Life. The wealth we all have today is however not for granted! I am thankful of having had the chance growing up within a farm. It is now in the hands of my sister and brother in law, and in summer time I love to drive the tractor and making hay for all the horse owners around, this gives me some compensation to my job.

I know Dolly personally..She was a family friend, and spent the night at our house, coming home from school with my twin sisters. One of whom went on to be in charge of admissions at Dollywood. So we always got in free. She went to Sevier County High, I graduated in 1959, 5 years ahead of her
She started there in1960, and graduated in 1963.
