      @@MomentofZed I ended up getting a nice Arctic Silver one just a couple weeks after. I'm in the process of bringing it back to factory, not including the replacement parts for preventative maintenance. Your videos have came in great, especially for when fixing the seats.
      I've just finished restoring the wing mirrors (no door card removal) so the next big task are the many stone chips on the hood / bonnet. Just need the UK weather to improve.

    Again, very interesting! Thanks for that.
    In my 2.8 you can find the OBD port on the driver's side of the cylinder bank.

      Could be year specific on what side the port is on, knowing how to identify the port is most important...@@thomasz3coupe591

      @nowski186 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The port was originally on the right side and was moved to the left side of the vehicle starting with 1999 model year, hope this helps.

    Also take note that that 20 pin is located on the driver side if you have a NA 6 cylinder.

    ive been thinking to change the wheels on my z 1.8
    now i have 17 inches 225 tires, and was thinking to swap smalleer size to 16 inch 185 tires, i think as the car is 1.8 would be better or maybe 185 tires are too thin? thank uu!! keep going with the cannel!

    • @MomentofZed
      @MomentofZed  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mine are 225 16s, 185 feels narrow imo

    Your welcome...
    Mark, will the new reader perform the oil change reset? Or will it have to be done the old fashion way with the old #7 pin trick?
    BTW: My OBD port is on the passenger side of my 98 2.8 left hand drive Z3. Maybe the OBD port is on the driver side of a right hand drive vehicle as well. I'm sure BMW was consistent with OBD placement regardless of what side the steering wheel is on. However I've been wrong many times before.

    • @MomentofZed
      @MomentofZed  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'll have to check on the reset light. Two commenters have said their 2.8 port is on the driver's side.

    • @jimmyk6336
      @jimmyk6336 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Is it possible those commentators car's are right hand drive car's? Maybe they can chime in and clarify...@@MomentofZed

    That’s strange. My port was inside the car on the passenger side under the glove box 🤷‍♀️

    I want to buy a z3, but I have no idea on what too look out for problems or conditions to get the right one for the right price, any advice that you can give me ?

      Take a look at this video:
      th-cam.com/video/RUxovPirtg4/w-d-xo.html&lc=UgyklJkSucyJ_j21dBZ4AaABAg
      If you want safer, I'd look to a low mileage 1.9 or 2.8 liter manual, clean carfax. Prices vary, but you should be able to get something reasonable for under 10K. I like Cars and Bids to keep an eye on prices. Our cars are 25 years old or more now, so having some of the typical issues like the glovebox sag shouldn't be deal breakers if the rest is in good shape. When in doubt, drop 200 bucks on a pre-purchase inspection from someone reputable with BMW knowledge.
