I'll take both. A halo CE ground-up remake and a Halo 3 Anniversary with the dual-engine switching like H:CE:A and H2:A. Have Halo3 Anniversary come as an update or paid DLC for The Master Chief Collection. That is the best option I say because it will keep interest and player count in the collection.
Personally I would LOVE to see a full on Combat Evolved remake done RIGHT. Like Dead Space or Resident Evil. Then if that's well received, go ahead and do the same for Halo 2 and 3.
Totally agree. Although I loved the feature to go back and forth to classic graphics, a true REMAKE would be amazing. Add content, return to the atmosphere......or halo 3 :)
If the classic Halo games are remade it might mean when they make Halo 7, they would be used to how Bungie made things rather than the old 343 teams way of doing things
What would that difference be? The only difference between bungie and 343 really is that 343 was a team compiled by Microsoft to continue Halo, whereas bungie was aquired after making Halo
H3A is long overdue, it is the most popular halo game by far, and I feel like any changes they make to either game will meet with massive uproar. Even just adding cut content and having it in by default isn’t the best idea imo.
@@Nadestraight I’m not sure that Halo Studios has the respect let Halo 3 be itself. I feel like they’re going to take creative liberty of the gameplay, art direction or something.
Idk Im neither for nor against a H3 remaster. I don't really feel like Halo 3 needs a remaster personally. The graphics don't feel so old that it needs a fresh coat of paint like Halo CE and Halo 2 did.
Halo CE Anniversary nor Halo 2 Anniversary wasn't a remake but a remaster. People tend to get the two confused but a remake is taking an older game and reimagining it whereas a remaster is taking an older game and bringing the visuals up to date with some QoL fixes and performance improvements. A great example of a remake would be the FF7 one they've been doing whereas a great example of a remaster would be Halo CE or Diablo 2 Ressurected. The graphics got updated and there was some QoL changes but the "meat" of the game - the core gameplay and style was left unchanged.
CEA was more of a remaster than it was a full remake. I'd want to see a remake because it might be something more like the Resident Evil remakes. where its just new levels, new mechanics but its still very much the same story and narrative. It'll just be the same story but with modernized tools/assets to renew the story for modern immersion and for new audiences
Your ai job video was literally how I discovered that halo still had a major online audience, now I am playing through all the halo campaigns in chronological order :)
I just want Halo 3 anniversary with all the original H3 maps + the ones added in MCC as well as new ones just for the anniversary edition. New updated graphics would also be cool as long as it covered the whole game.
Lol It’s more than impossible to make the Halo 3 fans happy so I doubt they’ll touch that one. The original Halo CE was LAN only which sets the bar low for a multiplayer experience. Also, bitching about video games wasn’t a profession yet and the OG Halo CE fans aren’t so numerous anymore, so I doubt they’ll see many pitchforks when it releases. The CE Remake is an all around safe bet.
So apparently its going to be a complete remake using old dialogue, cut content, unused assets etc. They hinted they'd even re do parts of the story as well. As cool as that would be AU i don't NEED that more than a H3A or ODST remake/sequel
I believe Others will agree with me on this statement. I am down for both remakes! Halo 3 especially because CE and 2 have been remade. It will look spectacular ❤
Why 1:44 so developers old and new can get a feel of the new engine. You have to quite literally rebuild the whole game. Let the devs actually make some games first before they continue on. Learning a new engine is not easy.
I've been involved in the process of rebuilding a game before actually, we managed to do it in less than 6 months. Granted, our game wasn't as big, but it doesn't take years upon years to rebuild a game, and the whole point of moving to Unreal was because it's the most used engine in the world, there should be no "get a feel for it" stage. Everyone should already be familar with it, or most of them at least
Halo CE doesnt need a remake but when they do im pretty sure a lot of people would play for nostalgia. The question is will it perform good in a sense of it being better in graphics and it having a decent multiplayer experience or other
H3A is a necessity, I hope it's part of their "project foundry". But I think CE is the one game in the series that could actually use a remake. Aside from the gameplay aging well, it's the one game with clunky expository dialogue, rigid animation, and lots of repetitive level design that could be brought more in line with 2 and 3's more focused design. Plus, if 343 started their reign of terror with screwing up CEA, Halo Studios might set the ship right with doing a remake some actual justice in contrast, to set themselves apart from their previous "chapter".
Is this really a question? How do gamers always get their hopes up? I played Halo 4 for about an hour before I came to terms with the loss of the Halo series. Every single metric was worse, 3:44 design, story, gameplay mechanics, music, everything. Now they change the company name and put a different girl with dyed hair in charge, and people are ready to shill out $60+ to replay the good ones? Keep it bro. Halo 3 had one of the most poetic and beautiful endings, and that's where it ended for me.
I think that at this point they would do better to just push out a community play the campaign day to bring back hype to the series. I just dont see a remake^2 being the answer. I think we arent done seeing Halo take Ls in the near future unfortunately
Optic choked. SSG was better. Yeah the SSG crashes are a bit sus with the timing but it is just Infinite sucking most likely seeing as both teams crashed. It is what it is. Optic should be a better team next year if Formal gets the team he wants. I want to see a CE remade. And if that turns out good I also want to see 2,3,Reach, 4 and 5 remade with good story/design changes. (2 and reach don’t need story changes but it would be nice if the weapons and such were rebalanced/changed). Also if it does come to PS imagine all the new players. Would be sick as heck. And that’s not mentioning the players coming in because of the ce remake. Really I think Halo Studios is trying to get a do over. Trying to show us that it’s not 343 anymore. It’s HALO studios.
between halo, battlefield and assassins creed, I have to wonder if Im broken. If not just for the fact aht i choose to hold these franchises so near and dear while they shit on my chest.
halo 2 anniversary is good. but in game it lags sometimes. unreal might make it more stable. i'd be happy if they remade the trilogy. it would be cool.
I think they are remaking it and putting it on ps5 to introduce halo to Sony fans because they think Sony fans have never played halo. 343 is so out of touch and renaming the studio won’t change my mind about them being horrible at making games.

I feel like you contradicted yourself a little here, with "new players aren't going to go back and okay reskinned games" but then you say remaking CE makes sense I kind of get what you mean, I think, but I see some flaws haha

I don't understand why people are okay with them doing a remake of CE. They've butchered games that they had absolute creative control with (4-Infinite), what makes people think they'll be able to pull it off while being constrained to CE's story?

I mean it depends what "moving forward" means. 343 tried "moving forward" and they killed the franchise. I agree Halo does need a "new" game rather than remaking the older ones but this new game needs to have it's gameplay based on and inspired by the older games. Halo 4 multiplayer was ass, Halo 5 was worse, Infinite was better but still felt like it was missing that Halo magic. After Halo 2 Bungie added the grav hammer and mauler and equipment to Halo 3. That's the type of iterative sandbox building we need. We need a Halo game that takes Halo 3/Reach and uses it as a base to iteratively build upon making tools that can allow for more interesting gameplay moments. You have to have a goal when you are moving forward even if they are small stepping stone goals. 343 tried moving forward for the sake of moving forward and we got Halo 4 and Halo 5 which were utter trash changing Halo to follow FPS gaming trends instead of focusing on the reasons why people love Halo and building and expanding the sandbox around those reasons.
