I really enjoyed this interlude Dreamy! I like how much these characters around the our main characters are becoming more fleshed out and alive in the story. It's so sweet to hear a vampire that is 100s of years old get nervous about going on a date. It shows that some things never change no matter how old you are I guess lol. Is it weird that I'm flattered by someone being nervous to go on a date with me? It's nice to thing about anyway. It's so fun to watch these back in time even though I wasn't watching when they came out originally.
Channeling yourself into both the writing and VA work really shows. And if I were a several hundred year old vampire, I certainly wouldn't tell thousands of strangers on the internet about it. But maybe I'm still in the coffin.
This was a wonderful interlude before catching up with our nameless protagonist and I loved the lore presented to us regarding Dave. I'm so impressed by the way you weave such deep topics into this story and seeing it through the lens of a being who has survived centuries on this world is a very intriguing concept that I adore! The VA work was excellent as always and I love how you are never truly ready for a "first date" with someone, especially someone who you are afraid to lose and love so desperately. Thank you so much for your work! Onward to the rest of the series for me.

Turn on subtitles. Because I had them on for a second. And uh. You just gotta look for yourself. LoL) I agree with your point at the end. A character like this would've experienced those prejeduces. And it's cool, her seeing how the world has changed. It's cool that you based the character a bit off your self!! Explains why your performances are top notch!!! LOL both! I had the main part of the story outlined but I was really experimenting when I let the character go on her little journey through the past. I was surprised and grateful by the reception to that, and so I allowed myself to follow my bliss, and padded out the script with more thoughts on life and death and how someone that old has had to learn to process grief. The original version of the movie date was much shorter without the conversation about grief. This part was also an experiment but a more intentional one. I wanted to do an episode where the vampire is talking about the listener instead of to him because I want to let her *try* to play it cool while you all know how truly anxious she is. And I also wanted to show the connection she has with Dave in more detail. I wasn't certain people would enjoy the experience of head-hopping from the romantic lead to suddenly hearing her speak from the PoV of the gay bestie.. but I thought it would probably work in Fly on the Wall kind of way. And it seems to have done well. :)
You know it's funny you mentioned it, because I had been getting the vibe that this character was one that you had out the most of yourself into, it just kinda felt like at some points you were genuinely just talking about yourself when retelling past experiences to the listener character, in a way that just seemed very authentic to me. Must be why I enjoy this series so much 😊
Oh yeah.. a lot of the things I said in these audios are things I say in real life. .. my favorite being "I never mind paying the piper when I've enjoyed the melody so well."

I absolutely will! I have a half-baked idea about following the woman the Mafia Princess tried to play matchmaker with to her father at the end of the series. He didn't manufacture waterbeds, that was just my idea of a job somebody could have only had in the seventies.. but he and his partner did work on the same street for a while at slightly homophobic companies, and I would play the beard for both of them by bringing them lunch at work and kissing them on the cheek before moving down the street to repeat the act with the other one!

I've heard of CastleAudio, I'm not sure if I've listened.. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting either of them, though. I'll have to give them a listen!
@@dreamaudiova Both of their channels have well-documented playlists, so it should be easy to find the right ones. CA's Glenwood storyline in particular is HUGE, and encompases several intertwined characters. Honestly, though, I like the Vampire Roommate a little better, for some reason.

Dave is based on my dearest friend who passed. He didn't manufacture waterbeds, that was just my idea of a job somebody could have only had in the seventies.. but he and his partner did work on the same street for a while at slightly homophobic companies, and I would play the beard for both of them by bringing them lunch at work and kissing them on the cheek before moving down the street to repeat the act with the other one!
