Its such a wonderful thing to see these children "see" for the 1st time. Their parents must be thrilled at these smiles,pure pure joy. I just love it!! ❤

It makes me wake up full of gratitude for all my senses, my blessings, my life. I can't imagine life without even one missing, and how life must be like a prison.. I know a little how that feels after becoming legally blind in my left eye as the result of an adverse reaction to medication. It keeps me from reading, one of my most favorite pastimes. I am a visual learner so I don't learn as well hearing a book, rather than reading it. When I'm feeling depressed about the situation, I often think on one of my favorite woman, Helen Keller. She became blind, deaf, and unable to speak, after an illness at 19 months. She was in this dark, soundless prision until she was seven. Her nanny/teacher, Ann Sullivan, finally broke through so that she understood the braille being signed to her in one hand, was the WATER that was streaming over her other hand. Her first EVER word. Imagine how big that grin must have been for all of them. The relief of finally being freed of her prison of nothingness, and kept learning for the rest of her life. I bet that will be true for this little girl too. Thankfully she got glasses early so she doesn't have as much catching up as Hellen Keller did. Congrats to all.
