  • I love this wheel for our Syrian Hamster! I have it fixed to the cage bars. It's more expensive in the UK than US but is quiet & runs well.

    You're welcome. I love it and our large syrian loves it too :-) I like the safety aspects as well - nowhere to get trapped. The first time you assemble it can seem a bit fiddly but after a couple of times it's a piece of cake! The main thing is make sure the front and back pieces are pressed firmly onto the running track so there is no gap either side of the plastic joining strip that holds the running track together.

    The plastic tube tied to the roof is a Savic Rat tube :-) It's lovely - quite long as well. The others are Rosewood hyacinth tunnels - chewable as well.

    Thanks for reviewing the wheel, I'm looking for a quiet wheel, just adopted two hamsters (not from the same place and both in different cages) managed to find a nice quiet wheel for the dwarf hybrid but the one the rescue suggested for the BIG Syrian boy is too noisy and they are in my bedroom (along with 5 guinea's). I'm off to order one of these wheels and have subscribed to your channel. Thanks again!

    They're great aren't they! Yes orange or orange isn't a great choice lol! I don't mind it and Charlie loves it! I find the big holes are good for getting your hand in to give a wipe round and am a dab hand it taking it apart and putting it back together again now :-) Interested to see your plans for changing the colour ha ha.

      +xxubesinxx Excellent! Thanks for watching the video. I've been on a 'wheel journey' over the last year and this is the right one for us :-)

    I absolutely adore these wheels. My /only/ complaint is the color, but I have plans for that. Mwhaahaha. Glad to hear charlie's loving it.

    The one I was sent came assembled. I guess they changed how they ship them.

      That sounds good! I think it depends who you buy them from - my second one came fully assembled. My third one didn't.

      Also some parts have changed recently - the nut at the back - but the principle is the same.

    I have added some close-up photos at the end to show the assembly. You need to push the front and back parts firmly onto the running track to make sure the joining strip goes the full width and no gaps. The manufacturers have an assembly video in addition to the paper instructions.

    It look like those bearings are standard and replaceable (i have them in my skateboard) ... BIG plus.!

    • @hamsterhub
      @hamsterhub  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe they are replaceable :-) I remember hearing of someone else getting them done.

    what would be a good size for a sugar glider; a 12' regular or wide

      I believe the 12" regular one is sold for sugar gliders (I bought mine from the sugarglider shop online. But if you check out their web page it should have more info :-)

    Hi, I have a question. Could hamster (I have a hedgehog but it deosnt matter now :D ) run inside even without the orange 'cover' with the holes? I think my hedgehog woudn't like it so if i can just take it off and keep it 'open' . Thank you! :)

      Afraid not - it wouldn't be safe/stable. The running track is quite flimsy without the support of the front orange piece and back piece, which basically hold the running track in place. They do make the same 12" wheel in a 13cm extra deep version! If that would be big enough with the front piece on. Either that or a bucket wheel might be best (put bucket wheel into search box in Etsy :-))

    Can dwarf hamsters push the 12inch wheel?

    I'm going to have my hamsters cage in my room and I am worried about sleeping at night when she or he is running on the wheel is it silent when your hamster is running on it? -Thanks Allyson 😊

    • @hamsterhub
      @hamsterhub  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it's silent :-) Unless your hammy puts food in it lol - then it rattles! Runs very smooth and no rattles.

    Do you think this would work for a Robo or would it be too big?

    • @hamsterhub
      @hamsterhub  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. The 9" one would work fine for a Robo! The wheels spin very easily and are quite light. I know of a few people who use the 9" one for dwarf hamsters. The 12" one would be a bit big for a Robo. I know in Germany they use 8" Wodent wheels for Robos and call it "the robowheel".
