    I just found your channel yesterday,and I'm addicted! I'm in the US and stayed up until 2am this morning watching. My wife somehow came across a pic of remote Albania,and next thing I know I'm lost on a rabbit trail just searching so much random information on Albania. You both seem like amazing people and are so calm and free.....I'm jealous! Your channel is so relaxing and I can't wait to see more. I'm disabled and would love if me and my wife could be like you both,but unfortunately that isn't the case,so now I'm living it through you both! I'm not sure how it would work or convert or whatever, but do yall have a place we (viewers) can donate/send money to...to help keep you both keep doing this?

      Hi, Justin I to have just found their channel and share your sentiments. I am also researching so much on Albania and I am living it through Lucy and Ben who provide a brilliant channel and have been on a rabbit trail for a month. I hope to visit all the Balkans in a two month (The maximum meds I can take)trip by bus, train and a plain when the pandemic calms down. I also have disabilities I live with such as narcolepsy and very poor asthma due to nearly dying of pneumonia four times since 2012. The last time in 2018 I was in a coma. I am also looking to retire in the Balkans for good in five years at 55 as I've just discovered a pension I didn't know I had . I found your words echoed myself in so many ways. I wish you the best.

    Thanks so much for all your videos. I was due to go to Albania, with my husband and 9 year old son at the end of May but, sadly, due to the pandemic, probably won't make it 😭 It's been on my bucket list for years, as we love the road less travelled, and have already been multiple times to other parts of the Balkans, but will just have to tour the country and the rest of the Balkans with your films instead this year.

    oh my, two more of the most amazing places I've seen, they imprint on my being. in these times they become truly magical gifts.
    It is totally right and natural for you to return there (Balkans) as you so belong and blend, I want to help see more of these amazing places as we all emerge.
    I have a few more suggestions and questions that won't fit here so if I may I'll stick them in an email when I get chance.
    Thank you for your wonderful work, it keeps exceeding and growing in impact.

      Thanks Clive! We feel the same, as we were driving around the Balkans on this trip we kind of came to the realisation that this is where we belong, not the UK. We love people’s attitudes to life, we love the food and we love the culture. We’ve outgrown our roots now and it’s time for the next stage in our lives.
      Do send us an email any time, we’d love to hear your thoughts!

      In all my life I have never been robbed in Albania, even during civil war. But I got robbed twice in Warsaw and got mugged in London outside a pub during my visit as a tourist. Albania is safer than Europe. This I can guarantee from my own experience.

    • @FromRustToRoadtrip
      @FromRustToRoadtrip  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We're sorry to hear you had that experience in London. We feel the same! Despite the reputation it gets we actually feel totally safe there- we’d actually forgotten to lock everything up by the time we got to Bosnia and it was a shock to see the sudden risk of crime again. Our van was broken into in Portugal and my purse was stolen in Greece but never have we had any trouble in the Balkans

    • @FromRustToRoadtrip
      @FromRustToRoadtrip  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks so much! To be honest we didn’t tend to take many precautions in Albania, it’s such a safe country and we’ve had no trouble in all the time we’ve spent there. We do have chains and padlocks for the doors though and a steering lock for areas we don’t feel so safe, as well as keeping our valuables in a safe, but the only time we’ve had trouble was in Portugal and in Greece

    I hope you know how to make that tea. You do not steep it you actually have to boil a hand full of it in about 3-4 cups of water for a good 10-15 minutes. It is very aromatic and without caffeine. Helps with relief from cold and flue symptoms and with digestion.

    • @FromRustToRoadtrip
      @FromRustToRoadtrip  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The GJ sound does not exist in English. It is like G as in George but a unification of the G as Good sound and Y as in Yes sound. It is produced by finding the spot where you put your tongue in the mouth when you say the G sound as in George and instead of rolling the tongue you push it a bit further ahead and touch the palate. The same way you can find another sound that Albanian has as English does not, the Q sound. Only this time you do not touch the palate.
