    From my experience, deep L is way better than google translate. Japanese people told me it sounds a lot more natural.

      Hello. Can you download languages for offline use? Does it also have a camera feature for real-time translation? I’ll be doing the talking or showing my screen, so I don’t think perfect audio clarity from the app is necessary for me

    • @Big-Wonka
      @Big-Wonka ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mikesgotniceice I believe it works offline. And yes, it has a camera feature. It's slightly different than google translate. You take a picture then scribble your finger over the text to highlight what you want translated.

    So helpful, thanks! I knew of some of these apps in writing but it is great to see their utility confirmed visually in your video. One suggestion for a nifty translation app is Say Hi. This app not only translates your input (say in English) into another language (say Japanese) in written characters, but it also PRONOUNCES IT ALOUD (your choice of a male or female voice) by touching on the written translation. A single step whether you want a written or spoken translation!

      @@rudymasato2968 sorry to hear about your experience! the restrooms in Japan are free of charge and easy to find everywhere, airports, train stations, bus stations, on the trains, (sometimes on the buses too). it's quite clean as well. just make sure you don't press the emergency button. the place to Flush is usually by sensor so that you don't have to press any button.

    I did try adding Pasmo and Suica to my Apple Wallet, but both failed due to Visa and Mastercard failing to be accepted... I know this comment is very late, but tip 1 (google translate) can be helpful, however its not always perfect. as Japanese doesnt usually rely on mentioning the subject for example if i wanted to ask what you did today, it would look like this 今日 何を しましたか (kyou, nani o shimashitaka) which when directly translated means "today what did" and doesnt directly mention that im talking about your weekend. Google translate usually has to guess, but is wrong alot of the time. I'm not saying to not use it, just use simple sentances as otherwise translate might stuff it up.
    Anyway great video! very helpful for our next trip!

    Regretfully hyperdia do not provide detail train timetable anymore. It was very usefull when we visited Japan before pandemi as we planned all our itinerary, train ride, connecting and transit based on detail train timetable provided by the website. I found what available now from alternative website is not as good as what hyperdia offered before.

    Thank you for the great recommendations. I'll sure gonna use these apps for my upcoming trip to Japan. One thing though : I couldn't download the SMART-EX app since it appears to be unavailable in my region (I'm living in France). I guess I'll have to do it on the day of my arrival in Japan. Thx !
