Excellent video. I have visited Tiryns several times and find it even more atmospheric than Mycenae. A wonderful place but often you have it almost all to yourself. Standing where the throne room once stood the views across the Argolid really resonate with the works of Homer and ancient Greek legends. There is a depth of history here that is almost unique and lonely Tiryns excites the imagination. A wonderful place to stop and reflect on the depths of history.
Thank you for your comment, Colin! We're so glad you enjoyed the video. We definitely agree. Tiryns is also one of our favourite sites. Mycenae is great, but it is so crowded with much of it closed off. Mythology and ancient history do come to life in a wonderful way at this site! More videos to come!
Thank you for not narrating all throughout. Very much appreciated. An inspiring place I’ve driven past several times without visiting. Next time, for sure!
Cheers, Daniel. The site definitely speaks for itself. Glad you enjoyed the video. We hope you enjoy Tiryns when you do visit it!
Thanks for the tour, really enjoyed it. 😃
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching :)
Amazing!! The best people on youtube should get many subscribers and others who do I do not understand how. This is excellent!! I was here in 2015. Can't believe that long ago. I must get back there. Too much to see in Greece. My mom is Italian and my dna had so much Greek DNA. love that feeling. Especially being Sicilian and Neapolitan Italian.
Ciao, Daniel! Thank you for your kind comment. So glad you enjoyed the video tour of Tiryns. It is a magnificent site, and yes, there is so much to see in Greece! (and in Italia!) We are always trying to draw more people's attention to our TH-cam channel, so please do share with your fellow history-lovers. More videos to come soon!
Yeah really great that haunting empty abandoned scene with that sound track fitting perfectly, well done, must have been a busy place for a time long ago
Thank you, Richard. So glad you enjoyed the video. The heat (about 45 degrees Celsius) was actually a blessing as we were able to roam the site undisturbed by anyone else. It would definitely have been much busier in the Heroic Age! Thank you for your comment.
Thank you! I was there in April and it was empty, just me and my wife. It's incredibly wonderful and I felt strangely at home. That is, until the keeper closed us in.😅. It's a place that talks silently with you, just like the video.
You're very welcome, Ricardo. We're so glad that you enjoyed the video and that you were able to visit the site in person. April is a wonderful time to visit archaeological sites in Greece! And you're right about Tiryns...it does indeed speak to you. Thank you for your comment :)
So very wonderfully done. I do not miss a constant narrative. The haunting music perfectly suits the haunting vistas of my favourite ancient city. Thank you very much indeed!
You're very welcome, Gregory. Thank you for your kind words. That was exactly our intent - to create an atmosphere in which people can see and 'feel' the site. It is also one of our favourite ancient sites. More videos to come!
this is absolutely impressive and amazing! Thank you very much for this unique and really great presentation!
So glad you enjoyed the video! We appreciate the kind words! :)
Amazing walk through! It is amazing to think that this citadel existed and so many question on how all these gigantic stones have been transferred! It is said that Hercules place was there
and once was in its prime at 1400 BC Mycines years until the decline came...

Great video and music, thanks ! I didnt know the site was open for visits.
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it! It is definitely open and worth visiting if you ever get the chance. Do go early in the day though, if it is summer, as it gets VERY hot on site!
Where did you get the music?!
Good stuff!
Glad you liked the music! You can see the artists' information at the bottom of the video description. Thanks for watching!
Super film.
Mamy nadzieję, że ten film pomógł Ci trochę go poznać, nawet wirtualnie. Dziękuję za Twój komentarz.
Χαιρετε. Η Τιρυνθα, ειναι η αρχαιοτερη πολη της Ελλαδας. Η ιστορια της, χανεται στην αχλη της ......μυθολογιας......
@07:13, Prodomos and Hall, Are those new concrete slabs or original stones?
Good question, Ryan. That is a thin layer of modern concrete spread over the ancient flooring. This is often done with heritage buildings and archaeological sites as it can be 'undone' easily enough without damaging the original remains beneath. It also protects the site from all the tourists who come to explore this amazing site. Thank you for watching!
Thanks a lot FROM BUCHAREST ROMANIA 🍀... Those frescos are very much similar to the Minoans ones in Cnossos Crete../ ! Strong links between Minoans & Myceenians ... Although not identical populations... RIGHT!?
We're happy that you enjoyed the video! Yes, the frescoes are indeed similar to those found at Knossos and there was definitely interaction between the two cultures, though, not always on friendly terms ;) Thank you for your comment!

@@viorelpiscanu9425 Thank you! :)
So the Greeks of the classical age never linked these structures to the Myceneans, that they have heard so much about (Homer's epic was thought even in their schools) and decided to call them " one eyed giant" made, lacking a more plausible explanation. Sweet. .
