Walleye FISHING! HOT Summertime BAITS.

- A quick after work fishing trip with friends turns out with a bunch of walleye in the net. Trolling Lake Erie walleye, we used a bunch of different Challenger stickbaits to target suspended fish, trolling around 2 mph to get the bites. As we move into late summertime, trolling a little faster with stickbaits is a great way to find walleye that are on the move. We also used lead core line which we haven’t used all season so switching up techniques was a lot of fun.

Spoons are the way to go on dipsys and jet 40's
Haven’t ventured into that yet but sounds like fun.

That young man catches a lot of walleye! Always fun to fish with him and his dad.
nice lake erie lobsters!!!
Delicious!
Nice fish. This has been a great year so far...here's to many more. So many walleye in the lake!
The fish are everywhere right now!
Very nice walleyes
Thank you!
Where was you fishing out of...couldn't figure it out from looking at the shoreline
This one is out of Sturgeon Point Marina.
OK thanks...I'm from Cleveland..and fish mostly out of Edgewater right by Browns stadium..and that area has been on 🔥 fire
Nobody ever uses the Big Lip Challenger crank baits ... They must be JUNK 🙄
I never really thought about it. It might be that the standard minnow is so versatile it fits the needs of most guys. That’s what we are finding. You don’t usually see those “ big lip” stickbaits this time of year. The standard is easy to get deep but also useful in shallow water in the spring.
And also how fast where you traveling?
We were trolling at about 2.5-2.7 mph.
How long of a leader where you running off your lead core?
Those leaders were 40’
Good video. Big fun on the water! Was that western basin area?
Thanks! We fish the eastern basin from Buffalo to Barcelona.
@@willsworldoutdoors Gotcha. I was wondering since I fish the central basin mostly, sometimes go west, and didn't recognize the launch area. I need to explore eastern areas more. Thanks for the info. BTW....You're lucky to have a young fishing buddy who loves to get after them! All you need to do is provide pretzel sticks and goldfish snacks and he's good to go! lol Fish on!
Never underestimate the power of good snacks. Tight lines!
