I sought this video hoping it would be a primer on Carmen so that I could learn its background and story ahead of tonight’s performance, which weather permitting I’ll attend. Instead it’s a projection of the commentators’ partisan views on race and “equity.” No thank you.

What is your problem? It IS a perfect primer for seeing the opera. They don't talk about any agenda at all. I don't believe you even watched. It's a good explanation of the history of the opera and its story.

You clearly didn't watch this. Clearly!!!!!
I'm 15 mins in and there hasn't been an utterance of that which you imply.
Watch the video, then make an assessment!

This dingbat got sidetracked by the words from Evans Mirageas, who introduced the two speakers, the first being the author of "Black Opera," and the second mentioned as being a "Director of diversity, equity, and inclusion." As soon as I heard Mirageas provided those two lead ins, you knew it was going to immediately be a turnoff to all bigots, and that's exactly what happened here. This clown, richleonardi56 , never would bother to listen to what these commentators had to say, because he could never get past their announced introductions. After hearing their introductions, he simply decided to express his objection to anything related to "race and equity," then blame it on the commentators - who said nothing about race and equity.
