Jennifer, please make more videos like this talking about different styles, this is helpful ❗👍🏻🕊️🙏🏻💜🌻🌹🌻🌷🌻🌸😊 And it would be great, to also have a how to refresh your home and add some of the elements from different styles to your home!
Jennifer, I would like to see a video on French country. I do not want to go too far with this style but I love the look. I watch several you tube channels and it gets confusing. I trust you to give us your tips. Thanks for sharing. Hugs to you all.
I love these videos! My style is transitional, because I have some antiques that I love. But I do love some of the country styles and the coastal colors.
Jennifer, I could watch your videos all day. Yes, I would love to see more design videos because we are re-doing our living room/dining room, foyer along with paint, etc. I need book shelves and would love to see 2 antiques that would good on either side of the fireplace. I love the traditional look. I was picturing green and blue for our home. I love Black Watch fabric and I am leaning toward that.
I absolutely love your video, and respect your knowledge! - So I say this not to counter miss Jennifer, but to merely tack on my two cents in addition. To any who are new to interior design, it is helpful and empowering to find a style you gravitate towards, but don't limit yourself. You can like more than one style, bits and pieces of many, all of them or none of them. If you don't like the majority of designs out there, that's great! Make your own style or add your own twist, combine things, bring something new to the world! Everything was once new at some point. Beautiful things can be born from accidents or from not knowing the rules. (Or knowing them and disregarding them) Consider every opinion you hear, even this one, with an equal balance of open-mindedness and a questioning nature. All that said, be true to yourself and have fun. :) Thank you so much to Jennifer for providing these lovely videos in a way that is easy to understand! I look forward to seeing more Sincerely, A Novice Who Talks Too Much (But Is Happy If You Read It)
You are exactly right! Yes, you can hear and understand interior design style, and follow design principles, but in the end it is your home to love and cherish! Great comment!
My preference is for Orkcore home design. The Orkcore look is dominated by red, grey, and brown. Brown leather and (natural or lightly stained)brown wood. Grey concrete, grey iron, occasionally grey stained wood(I've found that Aged Barrel Mw283 is the best shade of wood stain for this). Red leather, sedona red stained wood, a bit of red trim, red painted roof. Dark ages war/hunting weapons as decorations. Hide rugs. Raw materials and recycled materials such as stone and barnwood. Exposed industrial elements such as large bolts where practical. Pointiness added everywhere it can be done safely, such as pyramid tacks & pointy plants.
My favorite is organic modern/warm minimalism. I was thrilled in recent years to see that style given a name and to see it gaining popularity. Clean lines, comfortable, timeless, and NOTHING ornate or frilly.
Hi Jennifer, Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, I just finished watching the video, but I felt that my style is a combination of a lot of southern, modern farmhouse, and industrial 😂💔 is that OK or I should choose one most favorite to start doing my home!
I found your channel while looking for videos on faux floral design and now I'm binge-watching! I suppose my home is some combination of traditional and vintage. Love your videos!
This was really helpful! I am on the southern coast and have what I would call a coastal-farmhouse style. Turns out it's actually more English country! Would love to see more videos on that!!
This was a fun video! I came back tonight to watch it a 2nd time. I love traditional, English country, and vintage styles. My paint and furniture choices are mostly neutrals to swap out my decorations seasonally. I have always loved antiques and timeless decor. I was never a fan of the grey trend.
Thank you! I loved this! Can you help me know what to click on to find my style? The video said to click on this card. But I’m not sure where to find it. Thank you for your videos. It’s always a great way to start my day☀️
Fun video! Do you feel that you should decorate your home/condo based upon your geographical location? For example, I live in south Florida so should I decorate my condo in the coastal or contemporary style?
Thank you very much , to share your beautiful amazing interior home design style inspiration ideas .I love lot and i do want to see you video more , and also i been learn lot from you you decor tips 😂Jennifer❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love all the different design styles but Im a Traditional girl when it comes to our home design. I love the warm colors and comfy furniture and yes, I stayed far away from the grey trend. 😊 I have found myself wandering toward Transitional styles as I get older. But still Traditional at heart. Love your videos! ❤️
Jennifer, Yes please! Absolutely loved this video. So much inspo was drawn from it and I found my Design Style 😌 😳ALL of them! Aside from the maximalist and I even do a little of the minimalist but please do another video! Thank you!! ✌🏼from Texas
Loved this! Mine is a little of all the styles I think except for the minimalist! I really need a decorator to just pull it all together. Hope to get to your store soon. Only about a 100 miles away.
I would love to see more southern country and low country styles. Having lived in both South Carolina and Mississippi I have appreciated both also time in Virginia with the more traditional. Enjoyed your video very much.
Love the styles mostly the transitional, southern, English country and coastal. I also love British colonial style. Can we have a few ideas of how to adopt British colonial style mixed with coastal please.
Loved this video! Such fun to see and also very informative. I would love to see more. videos like this!! Also, could you include more names of people to follow for each style? I feel like that would help.
Lovely and informative video! I tend to fall more into the transitional bracket, but I do have a heck of a lot of the vintage/rustic look in my home as well!
Jennifer Hello!. I look forward to your videos...this one was so informative. My style is traditional, eclectic, vintage. 😂I looove antique pieces. However, not too many! I like them to have a purpose. Appreciate all your wisdom! Thank you!!!
@@JenniferDecorates It's also so hard to refresh kitchen cabinets cabinets and find paint 🎨🖌️ for the walls and pick out a color that's not boring. And profile wall, I love but choosing the right one is also hard.

Good morning Jennifer! This is a fabulous video defining interior design styles! Yes, please, I would love to hear about more categories defined such as cottage, eclectic and French country. Thank you for sharing! 💕
I am definitely Traditional meets English Country meets French Cottage. However, much of my furnishings are shades of grey. Prior to redecorating our home recently, everything was sage, cranberry and tea stain. While I can definitely appreciate all styles, these are the ones I choose for myself. I'm a realtor and home stager. Growing up, my mother taught me that "eclectic" was short for "exciting collection." Would you agree with that?
This was a great informative video! Looks like I’m transitional! I love timeless, luxurious and classic with pops of updated decor. Just like JD’s! 🙋🏼♀️🇨🇦
Transitional, Contemporary, Modern, Organic Modern, and Modern Farmhouse are all pretty generic, look pretty much the same, and seem to be what everyone is doing right now: Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, McGee & Co., Joanna Gaines . . . it’s pretty much what you see when you walk into almost any furniture store.
You are awesome and really made this understandable for us! Loved it and I tend to add different things and fit it in so guess I’m a mix? But I’m not contemporary or modern!😂
Yes, please make more videos about finding your design style!!!! What is the difference between organic modern and European style? European style, French Country, English Country.....they all confuse me! Are some of the the same thing???? What are the differences???
English Country and French Country can appear quite similar. For me it comes down to provenance. I have many pieces that are french (armchairs, etc) and others that are English.
Jennifer, is it ok to mix styles. Like English and tradition. Or coastal and farmhouse. And how being a collector of years of pieces do you choose and donate? I have pieces from 30 years ago I’ve moved from house to house and maybe just use for a season my husband says I’m a hoarder. Help!
Of course it is okay to mix styles! In the end, it is YOUR home! Surround yourself with things you love! Understanding your own design style, helps you to zero in on things you love. And, when your are out shopping it is easier to make a good decision on a purchase rather than an impulsive one you may regret later. (this girl is speaking from experience. ) :)
