My 65" Samsung developed a dark shadow, just right of center, after only 3yrs. My SONY BRAVIA , still works great after 12years!!! I just wanted a bigger T.V., but luckily kept my older one. Just purchased another 65 Sony Bravia...lesson learned.
I saw this issue today on my Samsung tv. And what do you know, I've had my tv for 2 years 2 months. The good thing is I was able to resolve the issue by raising the brightness of the backlight. It went away then came and then I raised and lowered the backlight some more. Now it's gone for good but I expect it to come back. At this point, a class action lawsuit will be what's needed to get Samsung to extend their warranty and/or make a recall.
We have this issue. Samsung UN50NU7100. Samsung should be accountable for this. I've tried everything they suggested with the exception of getting it repaired by a technician or buying another Samsung TV. The rep actually sent me a link to another TV to BUY.
Had to put mine in the shop (Samsung 55) for the same problem cost $250 to replace the led strips along the bottom. Doesn’t matter the brand or the size. I was told it’s a common problem with all LED televisions. Consider yourself lucky if it never happens to yours. I will say my Sony television’s have given me 0 headaches over the years. I think I will be sticking with Sony for now on.
The strip has rattled loose somehow. Same thing happened with my 55 inch 8 series. I haven't explored it, but apparently, you can fix it for around $30

Have The same problem with my 65” screen , i’m with you on never buying Samsung tv or whatever other products they may offer. If they don’t stand behind their product and offer all the customers that have this problem and are willing to trade in and get a discount on a new TV , I will never buy anything with your name on it again.

I had the same problem on my 82in QLED. I was so frustrated I clicked the power button on the remote a million of times and it actually went away, not sure how long it will last though. It’s worth a shot and you don’t even have to get off the couch. As for support, do not even bother. They will offer to send a technician but your warranty will be expired and they will not cover anything and it will cost more than a new tv itself. Bad company. I’d recommend LG

I called support and they tried to charge me more then what the tv is worth Samsung is a rip off of a company I don’t recommend these products to anyone. Bad LED. My issue is EXACTLY like this one, a single dark bar. Very disappointed in Samsung. The funny thing is: the issue does not bother be all that much. I plan to replace the LED, but it'll be after I can't take it anymore. 🙂

This is very an issue with with samsung products I had this problem but I switched to LG very good TV I also owned samsung washer and dryer always have problem with those to always every year fixing drain pump to heating element not good samsung.

Call customer service and explain to them what is happening... Mine was out of warranty by a full year and the comped my repair labor/parts cost.

The ribon cable needs disconnecting and reconnecting. Just remove the back and the cables are in the centre bottom

My samung tv got the line 11/4 year old I'm pissed i was told its outta warranty I won't buy a samsung tv again the shadow is light but its there

Most of these have two Led strips at the bottom. You can fix it it's a bit of work . But you need to tear it apart and replace the two led strips .

Same thing happened to my 75" 4K Samsung but the shape of my shade is not vertical. It's more of a smooth "L" shape. Probably the same issue tho.

I had the same problem with my TV it is your back light LED.
My line moves every couple of days, so where we had a shadow one day is now working fine but another area of tv is now in darkness.
It's the led back light that has burned out . A very common issue with Samsung.

PUT IT ON YOUR DRIVEWAY AND GO BACK AND FORTH ON IT, YOU'LL FEEL BETTER THEN GET YOURSELF A NICW ULTRA FRONT THROW PROJECTOR.
