I came here for the same problem on a PC Monitor model "Samsung LC32G7xT". I tried the cabels on different monitor and it worked fine. I tried different inputs both on DP and the power cable but still I had the dark areas. I tried many things on the settings of the graphics card but still nothing. Did the same with the monitor settings and nothing solved it untill I saw an option to apply your Display Port cable version. Mine was on 1.2 version and the options were 1.1, 1.2 and 1.4. So i chose the 1.1 version and it fixed immidiately. I dont know why this fixed the problem and I am saying this because I am already using the monitor with the same cable for 2 years straight and it just happened to have these dark areas today! PLEASE LIKE the comment so if someone has the same issue can see how it worked for me so maybe this will fix their day :)
If your tv starts with a shadow in a corner then be prepared to have a shadow on the whole screen.😂 That's how mine started, and to repair it I got an estimate for a little over $400. I paid $650 for it 5 yrs ago. Not worth the repair. In the garbage it goes.
and too bad if your older and you dont have paid modems and internet for your tv, you just watch the thing! understanding half of whst u ssid means go pay $100's to some fixer or a new tv because in todays day and age no-one helps anyone else
