The thing with modern horizons is that it's actually a good set, with a ton of playables that will hold value. I opened a box of Oath of the Gatewatch last night, and the only things of value were a 3.49 mythic, and the full art lands. Yes, I took a trip to hosetown. But it was still enjoyable, there's nothing quite like grabbing a stack of unopened packs.
Tough when the crazy pulls keep interrupting Rudy's flow. Patron can't complain!🤑

I agree with you. People dont think for themselves these days they go by what others feel or say about things whether its games,movies or whatever. Makes me sad that people cant just enjoy things for themselves

You are a very kind and knowledged person and look up to you in the magic community. You have helped me out a lot with your information you give.
I am from Australia and was big into magic and always played but not so much these days as I've grown up and have kids and teaching them the love of Magic. I have a nice collection myself and handing down to my kids as they get older and to enjoy what I've experienced.
Keep up your good work and will always watch your videos.

I definitely agree with Rudy on the value of Modern Horizons. I opened my 3rd box today, got my 3rd Prismatic Vista (one of which was foil) 2nd Seasoned Pyromancer, 2nd Hexdrinker, 3 Horizon lands and a Wrenn and Six. I've yet to open a box that didn't make me a profit or at least break even.
I don't think I made profit in terms of actual value, I opened just one box but I don't really care about profit so it's not that bad... Foil echo of eons, urza lord, kess as my mythics, 3 horizon lands as well, one prismatic vista. I might honestly buy another one tomorrow, I love this expansion.
@@StahliCell I agree, I also just like the set. While I don't play a lot of modern, there's a lot of fun stuff for commander.
My last box was epic. A Wren & six plus a Foil First sliver. Amongst others.

Proof is in the tacos. The box openings do not lie. I bought a box at full retail, after tax it was 217 dollars. I sold 13 cards, that got me to break even, and after ebay fees made 25 dollars and got to keep the rest of the rares, and uncommons and all but one foil. You wont break even on every box, but most vidoes I see get you pretty close. My goal is to sell and break even and get to keep a majority of the boxes I open. This is a good set.
In my area stores can't keep Modern Horizons in stock because everyone keeps buying it all. I'm in Syracuse NY.

mike maier I just bought another box at $175, and did horribly... MH is going down in price daily right now, but even if it wasn’t, I got a horrible box. I got about $120 in cards... so $55 less than I paid. I guess that balances out with the previous box that is around $280 in value though...

First Wrenn and six out of the last six boxes of rudys opened.. Seems like the print rate wasn't too high either. I believe it will hit 100$ + within couple more weeks.
Yagmoth first mythic. That means it will be a 5 mythic box with a mox and urza . Seems to be the case with the way wizards did thier thing.

I got a box last week the foils sucked but I pulled almost all of the highest priced cards for the set minus Urza.
I ordered my first box of modern horizons recently I am extremely excited. Also on a side note my girlfriend opened her first pack and pulled a planeswalker it was pretty rickdickulous. Hexdrinker is 17$ with a 1.82x foil multi, so the foil version is 31$. Where did you get that 70$ price from?

I'm pretty sure that ole Mons is supposed to be the goblin that leads the Mon's goblin raiders. It seems they are printing other main character type cards in the set, but that could just be me. I got a laugh out of it when I first saw it.

Been watching you every day sense. So indirectly, Modern Horizons got you a viewer for as long as you take this taco stand. The power of this set is unbelievable.

Just in cards $5 or more (TCG Player low), that was about $346 worth of cards popped. I personally would have been okay paying ~$54 for all of that "bulk".

This might be a stupid question but I have not played Magic since 1998. Can I get an explanation of what the first three cards are?
First is a token which some cards use. Second is a land card just a full art. Third is just a neat little art card that you can do whatever you wish with.
Exactly, the cards with the full art sideways are something special to Modern Horizons. Full art lands have been a thing for a while, token cards even longer.
I feel the art card is perfect for autographs if that was your thing. The back of that card has the name and artist on it. The art on the card is of rares and mytbics from the set.
