some of you requested a part 2 on some more affordable apartment tours and more information on how much you need to pay to move out in NYC so u know i had to deliver !! lmk if this was helpful and if you have any other questions ❤
I was literally waiting for this one to be posted around 420am but I was gonna be late for work so I’m watching it now during my break!!! Love this type of vids!!!
Yay!!! Thank you so much for making a part 2! :) This was so helpful. Thanks for providing additional tips and recommendations. Love how transparent you are with your search process and the break down of the moving costs. You are the most realistic apartment hunt video I’ve come across on TH-cam for the average person. Haha… I definitely cannot afford the $6,000 studio apartment that I’ve been seeing! 😅 Did you find most of the apartments mainly on StreetEasy? Or were there other platforms you used? Like Craigslist, Zillow, etc
You already know baby i am clock in ealryy. Also sending all the love and peace remember to take breaks and not to stress to much love espically what is happening right now. So yea iloveyou and stay safe mwahh❤🫶
Im so excited for the brokers fee to be paid by the person who hired the broker. It looks like that law is about the pass!!! I hope it means rent will go down soon
If you have an income high enough that you can afford that much in rent, you can afford to buy. I pay less than $2K a month for my mortgage, maintenance, property taxes, and utilities in an elevator building on the Astoria/Woodside border. I did need to spend close to $100K on a down payment and closing costs. Renting would probably be better at least in the short term if you were in a rent-stabilized apartment and only spending around $2K, which you can find in Astoria, Sunnyside, and Woodside, but not if you’re spending $3K for a non-rent stabilized apartment.
The reddit advice is clutch and I agree! Been using it for awhile now and its helpful in a lot of ways. Also yes to Tisha's nyc moving vid. She had some amazing tips too. Thanks for the video lady!
How do you go about applying to units you like? I've heard it's bad to just apply to anything and pick the best place you got approved for at the end. Should I tour for a week, pick my top 3 and apply to them all at the same time? Or just apply to 5-10 places ASAP if I like them after the tour?
Haha yaaay ! Only a few minutes in so far, but I always love it when I catch a glimpse of your over sized tote bag with the green handles! Why ? Because I ordered one , too not long ago, & I LOVE it ! Game changer & life saver! Even brought it with me to New York for my wonderful visit last week. Guys ! You all gotta order this bag from Mohuya’s fabb clothing & accessory line ! XO Liz
Ugh … the lighting in that “eco conscious” building looked dreadful. LED ? That is SO bad for you. Always go for incandescent and / or full spectrum bulbs if you can.
It s cool to see the apartments but you really didnt explain the process of finding the apartments timing etc. for example I just signed my lease today. Went on streeteasy and saw and even better apartment for a lower price. How do you deal with the game theory of the hunt? When do you view? Weekends, during lunch break? What do you do if you dont fall in love with a olace bur you have to pick something because you already gave move out notice. How far out in time are you viewing. These are rhe questions that people need help with, not just apartment tours
These titles are so useless. “Realistic” is entirely relative. Most people in the US view $3k rent as unrealistic. You’re no more relatable than the person getting a $20k/mo rent. Both are unattainable to the vast majority of Americans. Just focus on yourself and stop forcing this view of relatability.

i'm saying!!! and that's also a reason I ultimately didn't apply because it didn't seem worth it
Could you do Brooklyn?
