Bad joke or are you truly so uninformed about the emissions from volcanoes?? Most of gas produced by volcanoes is sulphur dioxide, SO2 not CO2. Human activity produces up to 100 X as much CO2 as all volcanoes do in a given year.
@dondoodat Oh really, well if we dont have to worry about all the emissions from a volcano then we certainly dont have to worry about changing to EV cars then.
@dondoodat Im talking compared to how much we are likely to save with dumb green polices, not the total amount we produce, most of which cant be avoided in a modern world.
This is a small-scale version of a flood basalt eruption, such as triggered the Permian-Triassic mass extinction. My prayers to all those affected by this situation. If anything is to be learned from all this, is that people on both Iceland, and the Big Island of Hawaii, should not get too personally attached to any single piece of real estate on both islands, because of the ever-present risk of lava flows. Perhaps the people should transfer to easily movable trailer homes, because of the risk of heartbreak resulting from the destruction of unmovable homes. Because any single part of Iceland and Hawaii's Big Island can get hit by a lava flow, or earthquake, no unmovable structure will ever be completely safe. Once again, my prayers to all those endangered by volcanoes.
Thats a huge boost for Mercedes the biggest problem with w14 was lewis could not feel anything past his elbows if you can feel the car you can drive the car
Can someone explain why in situations like this that airplanes the dump water on forest fires dont attempt to at very least slow the rate of lava expansion by dumping water in the area? Would this decrease the compounds of poisonous gas entering the atmosphere?

@@johnhamilton2213 i think it makes perfect sense maybe you've been on the beer, I will idiot proof it for you. A few weeks ago people were saying the scientists had it wrong when they said there was activity that showed there was going to be a 🌋, and the past couple of weeks people from Grindavik were moaning, but today scientists were proved right, is that idiot proof enough for you?

May god keep save Icelandic peoples
God is letting this happen. so which god are you referring to?

This volcano needs to be held accountable for its actions! Put the volcano behind bars asap
Call for Donald Trump. He's a "fixer". He will tell it to stop it or else!😂
Greta Thunberg will save us.
I am praying for you Iceland. Stay strong. You got this.
Our t love and blessing go out to you all .. ❤️❤️👼🏻👼🏻
Hello 👋 how are you doing today? I hope 🤞 this year brings happiness, peace and love all over the world 🌎 I’m originally from Canada 🇨🇦 grow up in Fort Worth Texas, currently living in Key West Florida. Where are you from if i may ask?
Honestly.... Island with their volcanos as usual. Hope people are safe.
Wow, BBC reporting something factual for once.
It's a miracle. But give it a day or two and they will somehow get womens rights and global warming into the story.
Oh this year just keeps getting better and better
May God’s presence be felt during this difficult time.
This IS God's presence.
You got to remind me. Iceland is the warm one and Greenland is the cold one, right? Prank'd
🙄
I hope and pray for everyone there to be safe my heart goes out to everyone.the earth is a wondrous place .but when she talks it's loud❄️🌨️❤️🩹🌸
Last year a few months ago there were actually many earthquakes and aftershocks already. Now in 2024 a fiery lava is actually destroying everything in its path.
Beautiful Iceland stay safe everyone. Call if you need help. We’re here 🇺🇸 The planet is trying to tell us something. First was Japan’s earthquake, now is Iceland’s volcano. We humans need to consciously take care of earth. Our home.
No, the Earth is not some angry nature spirit, it is a rock which happens to be our home, if your house has a problem you don't start self flagellating, stop being anti human.
No that I don’t believe in global warming but this is perfectly normal
It just the island didn't like the ice at their name😅
The planet does what it does. It doesn’t talk to us.
@@user-ho3dk4pg8y of course it doesn’t talk, just observe that catastrophes around the planet and let me know. Flooding, earthquake, fires, etcétera !
May the lord god protect the people
He didn't do anything when millions of people were brutally killed by big natural disasters and in wars, let alone this small event
If the lord god is so good as to protect the people of Grindavik, why would he make the volcano erupt in the first place?
What are you on??? He started the bloody thing!!!!!!
Where have you been? The people are safe, the only people near the town/volcano are experts. Scientists, emergency personnel, people who know what they are doing.
Didn't the Lord God create the volcano in the first place? Maybe you should be asking why he did it?
That would never happen in my town.
Ah well, bang goes all the efforts to clean up the atmosphere. Nature wins again, showing she's boss. Might as well remove ULEZ cameras ASAP.
Indeed, It's like trying to bail out an overflowing bath with a thimble while the tap is still running.
Amazing to see the emergency vehicles so close to the lava.
They really should test the magnetic pole strength in Iceland and the waters around it. This could be a first sign of what many feared could happen via a Magnetic Pole Shift/Swap.
You say this like it's something that isn't being constantly monitored and has been for quite some time.
The lava appears to be flowing uphill.
A prayer for peace.
Father God, I often find myself overwhelmed by circumstances that are beyond my control, and I am easily distracted by things that don’t matter. Please forgive me for not consistently placing my trust in You. Even when I am faced with intense situations, You are still with me. You are the Creator of peace, and I can have access to Your peace-filled presence whenever I draw near to You. So instead of silencing Your Holy Spirit when I start to feel anxious or discouraged, help me to make room in my heart and mind to experience the peace You freely give. In Jesus’ name, Amen
Halleluyah !! 🙏💪
Why are you praying to a fairy?
@@malphadour were dose it say God is a fairy
Why do people keep moving back there its like they want their houses destroyed.
The people are safe as most had been evacuated from two months ago and the rest were evacuated recently.
Think of the millions of tonnes of CO2 that bad boy has just belched out - The GAS OF LIFE❤
Bad joke or are you truly so uninformed about the emissions from volcanoes?? Most of gas produced by volcanoes is sulphur dioxide, SO2 not CO2. Human activity produces up to 100 X as much CO2 as all volcanoes do in a given year.
Think you need a few more "Dramatics?"
So how in the hell is everyones favorite topic Amazons AWT77K ?
Whoa!!
I want to start by saying I condemn the Oct7 🙌 but this lava flow is heartbreaking ❤ ✌️Usagoyboi🕊️
Israeli volcanos? Now I've heard everything!
@EGO-DEATH Are you taking the p!55? Why on earth did you post this comment? What is wrong with you?
A town literally built on a lava field gets destroyed by lava....wow how surprising.
That's an awful lot of greenhouse gases
@dondoodat Oh really, well if we dont have to worry about all the emissions from a volcano then we certainly dont have to worry about changing to EV cars then.
@@sonofsomerset1695 Fucks sake. Why is the internet so full of complete idiots?
@@sonofsomerset1695You are what happens when someone remains scientifically illiterate and lacks all critical thinking.
@dondoodat Im talking compared to how much we are likely to save with dumb green polices, not the total amount we produce, most of which cant be avoided in a modern world.
So where do they stay when evacuated?
Friends, family or a few in government funded shelters.
The only thing I always wanna hear from news like this is "there were no casualties".
Destructive and beautiful
Dude just chilling next to the lava
I live in West Yorkshire. I’m ok👍🏻
It is a volcanic island.
Where is it?
Addams Family
Thats a huge boost for Mercedes the biggest problem with w14 was lewis could not feel anything past his elbows if you can feel the car you can drive the car
It is huge catastrophe
when did this happen
Can someone explain why in situations like this that airplanes the dump water on forest fires dont attempt to at very least slow the rate of lava expansion by dumping water in the area? Would this decrease the compounds of poisonous gas entering the atmosphere?
Wow in this world Icy glacier has hot volcano eruption. Which is similar to hot desert temperature at day but decrease at nighttime and desert becomes cold.
I live here, I saw a huge mother ship shoot out then it all started. “Close the door, you’re letting the heat out”.
Title should be “Village near volcano is being evacuated “
