IMO Sikh is one of the most underrated religions in the game, you get some really quite powerful government reforms, the base bonuses are quite nice, you get a loooot of bonuses to missionary strength which you can trade for some really powerful bonuses (it's possible to get +1 all mana from 3 of your 5 gurus) etc. Also there's a lot to be said for being a minority religion, you can declare holy wars on literally the entire rest of the world
True, but the moment you can convert to it you are usually pretty sizeable and it kinda makes you slow down at first 😕 Also gurus lower your missionary power, cannot retake the canceled ones and appear every 50(?) years
Sadly, due to how slow it is to get going and reach decent bonuses, other religions severely out-compete it. >Converting from muslim to sikh makes little sense unless you're indian and can't easily get dhimmi, as the muslim branches have strong bonuses that can be obtained way earlier, and they also have DOF. Muslims with loyal 60% influence dhimmi estate + full legalism have 20% all tech discount, Maliki has 10% dev cost, Hanbali 10% AE reduction, you can flip religion couple times via rebels and then take decision to convert back as long as your capital is muslim and you get more muslim dev (takes some skill) to get +200 relations with all muslim nations, etc. When you do this, you can also get hanbali + hanbali scholars by giving ulema the privilege for inviting scholar and immediately inviting a hanbali scholar BEFORE you click the event after flipping religion to pick your religious school, and then pick hanbali there too. -20% AE for as long as the scholar lasts. >Conversely, converting from hindu is potentially better option, but it's still worth being Hindu for the greater part of earlygame because of reduced AE with other hindu nations, Suriya deity has event GOD heir event, and you can improve your monarch skills via events. In the same vein, Confucianism is also a very strong religion, with unique gov reforms and synergizes insanely well with a tolerant-style playthrough, where they even unlock a CB equivalent to Holy War when they get full humanist unlocked (think it's called "outward perfectionism") thus bypassing the need of taking religious for a good world conquest CB, but because it takes very long to harmonize and wait for harmony to get high again before harmonizing next religious group, players usually never bother to make an effort to get it if they don't start with it, perhaps only if becoming Emperor of China, playing Dai Viet or Japanese daimyo, cuz then they get it through event or going full open in neo-confucian shinto incident (that also gives them a free harmonization on their starting religion).
Speed run to eat a big poop with rebels, i like Sikh but is too slow, full late game religion, i think need a rework, if you want some strange strategy for a next video try to do Confusian, Chinese emperor starting with Khmer -> Siam -> Dai Viet(is not a final tag) the stacked bonus from missions tree and monuments are massive. You can subjugate all nations with free cbs, I try to get Asia before 1600 but is a bit hard, India is a massive manpower drain, maybe you can do it, i can promise fun and a different government reforms that maybe you forget.
Tbh I think it is intended not to. If you do you will miss out on additional mission branch. If you really don't want to fight rebels, just always be at war with 3 stability and 100 absolutism. Also revoke all janissaries privileges and have 0 corruption

They should really make this an achievement, maybe with a buff to Sikh religion.
Sikh is already strong alone, A-tier religion at least imo

The problem with Sikh is that it's a really slow religion. By the time you get the last guru, 95% already have ended the campaign.
