      My son, in the womb at this time, will be a drummer and/or hockey and football player, and I would love to get a play pad like that. (Note: I will not force my kid into anything he doesn’t want to). I actually already have a Yamaha DD5 set at my parents that would probably be a better place to start.

    I like that these reviews are appropriate for the products. Expensive equipment doesn't make a musician. Affordable entry level equipment can certainly plant seeds and provide fertile ground for experimentation.

    I've been playing guitar for 16 years, and I never knew you had to tune your drumkit. I want to get a starter drumkit but that makes me a little apprehensive. By the way its channels such as yours thats inspired me to even want to try it. Keep up tge awesome work.

    • @JustinEthnostate
      @JustinEthnostate ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The first time tuning is a little bit nerve wracking. The second time, a little less so. Then everything falls into place. There are a couple great videos on YT with some tricks. The bigger ones are actually easier, because you can just put pressure in the middle of the head, creating wrinkles. Then tighten until the wrinkles are gone and voila you have a tuned drum. From there it's just fine-tuning and that will happen as you play anyway. They don't need to be perfectly tuned to sound great

    • @danwatrus9146

      Sounds like a drum channel, you can learn much about tuning

    I am a small fry youtuber, and when I watch Samus, I realize that key to success on TH-cam is around 30% raw skill (Samus is truly an incredible drummer) and 69% personality, passion and joy that emanates from the TH-camr himself.
    The remaining 1% is pure luck.
    So yeah, love you Samus :)
    If you happen to read this comment, please tell us what's your favourite anime :D (if you say you don't like anime me and my gf will commit ritual seppuku with Slayer blasting in the background).

    It was interesting to hear the difference that the Evans heads made right away. Much better. Not a fan of the plastic drumsticks. Didn't think there would be that much difference from the wood but there definitely is. Of course if a thinner lighter sound is what you are looking for on a given song they would be OK. Depends on the song. But overall for a 60 dollar snare, not too bad, but the better sound came from changing the heads so that upped the cost. You've obviously hit a few and changed a few drum heads in your time (Lol!) so it also helps to have someone like you to change the heads and know how to tune it. Been a long time since I bought drum heads so not sure how much that adds, but the Evans did indeed sound better. Enjoyed your vid. You're a fun guy! Oh, and the "blocks" sounded quite good. Surprisingly.
