"Miquella never betrays a vow; your family awaits you" makes me think that, when the Hornsent talks about his people being 'redeemed', it's something to do with giving them grace and an afterlife I think Marika cursed their souls in some way that Miquella promised to undo when he became a god, and us killing Miquella dooms all Hornsent to the same graceless oblivion that Omens (and etc.) go to when they die
I don't think they go to graceless oblivion. They just become spirits. Be it wailing or peaceful, everything becomes a spirit in Elden Ring in death and to perma kill anything, you need a flame. Ghostflame, Destined Death, Frenzy Flame; really, they're all rather similar in their final purpose, which is to make the Dead die a true death. I'm not too sure about the serpents and wyrms and dragons and their flames. I know at least that the Giant's Fell God is most likely Messmer's other eye sealed upon them (see Flame of the Fell God's similarity to Base Serpent Messmer's mouth orb attack and explosion thereafter, and then the on the nose flame golems with giants symbolized on their legs. I guess the Giant's were an attempt by Marika to neuter the dreaded serpent away kinda like how the black flame was neutered by being seperated from Destined Death.) and Messmer's Flame also burns not only the living, but also death. I can only surmise that the Hornsent all over the Realm of Shadow are not burnt or dead, but that they're only sealed away from flame, like the golems in the catacombs. They also match the not black sealing color of Enir-Ilim. Rykard's God-Devouring Serpent magma stuff is maybe cuz he ate too much and got heart burn lel xp. I know it's at least drawing upon the melding of the Crucible. I see too many people consider the Crucible as a one time thing that no longer applies anymore or that the Elden Ring is some sorta commandment that rewrites reality, when it most definitely is not: the Crucible is where all life originates from, and it's where everything--including death as it also cannot be without life--wishes to return to. The Elden Ring does not rewrite reality: when Marika removed the great Rune of Death from the Elden Ring, all she did was make a medicine that can give bounties of the warrior dead and feed the living to keep them forever alive, so long as they weren't killed by extraneous forces. Before she removed it, people died and their continued spirits were burnt by Destined Death to return to Crucible (i think maybe likely. Played a role similar to the Deathbirds and their Ghostflame) I also see too many people just call Godwyn an allusion to that one mermaid tale from whatever country, in which it is valid, but i take more consideration from the elements of the story than mere allusions which are neat but not as important: he takes many aspects of life which are the dominant features of one who touches the crucible. Godwyn's current form may have been a form he was birthed as, but took human form like the two known draconic priestesses. It could also be a transformation from being touched by the Death Rune. I also like the third eye since that is most likely an allusion to how some people think a third eye opening is representative of the ability to intuit beyond base desires and will, which matches Godwyn's current lack thereof mind. This also vibes incredibly well with the Crucible, which is all life and what sprouts from death. When Crucible (i think Big Bang in the Elden Ring universe and i also think Greater Will is maybe likely the Crucible itself but with a gained mind) made--i say made when the Crucible ARE those stars and everything in the universe--the spattering stars of various hues of shining stones, amber was the most precious of starlight which vibes well with the color schemes of divinity--unalloyed gold which is to say divinity without Order. Pretty much light which Miquella gains. These amber starlight shards are what i assume the fragments of the major body of the Greater Will which is Order. Greater Will is divinity for suuure. As the Elden Beast is the embodiment of Order, it will accept any Order; be it rot, death, gold, unalloyed gold, and anything else that distinguishes itself and can lead and keep things under control. The reason why flame is so spurned is because it annihilates the Order of life, death and rebirth. Btw I'm so upset by how many people completely are blindsided by Metyr and how she relates to the Three Fingers: i believe she birthed the Three Fingers because of her growing hatred of the Greater Will--see the description for her weapon skill: Kowtower's resentment. She is angry for having been ignored and forgotten, so much so that she weeps for the end of all things and seeks that end. Might just be a tangent but when she uses Kowtower's resentment, the lines of light show four fingers on the left in the same shape of two pairs of two fingers, and then on the right as if those three come from the same palm. Feels likely to be intentional, considering their very similar shapes. There's also to consider that there are three finger prints on the Realm of Shadow, not just two. I like to imagine that the Lord of the Flame of Frenzy's head is essentially a microcosm that she's using to send as a rude communication of what she's done to the Order that the Greater Will demanded of her to help instate. I also think that Metyr was once numen like Marika's folk. Metyr touched the Aspect of the Crucible: Fingers Incantation xP and then towed a part of the Numen apart from wherever the Greater Will Resides (see Finger sorcery and its description. Maybe Metyr is broken because she split off parts of herself on every planet she visited to help prepare an Elden Beast's Order? Or maybe the travelling and crashing into planets repeatedly finally caused her to get tuckered out and broken) Greater Will might be a human like Numen. I also consider that all of the other Outer Gods may have once been lifeforms likely human numen, and touched the Crucible to become Gods, much like how Malenia touched Rot and became a Goddess of it. Like legit one of the Great Runes is rebirth, and rot demands rebirth and change in the cycle of life and death and what feeds on the dead. Fungus. This shews that the Elden Ring in all of its forms just desires Order. Oh also that people keep on calling the Golden Tree a parasite is just so funny to me, like, did they not ever notice the similarity of the man eating miranda sprouts and the Golden Tree? It's a carnivore, not a parasite. Even then, aren't all trees irl carnivores, if only that they eat bodies that are so incomprehensibly broken down (dirt and all the nutrients from dead bodies that it carries). The Golden Tree is another Aspect of the Crucible of life and death and rebirth. Honestly i think it's just a massive sunflower and it was seperated from its body--the Shadow Tree
Just as the other person said, you’re a godsend for posting these isolated dialogues
"Kindly Miquella, make the world agender place"
Thanks so much for posting all of these dialogue compilations! They're super useful!
