    Servus 2dgameartguru,
    deine Tutorials sind die Besten.
    Da passt einfach alles (Präsentation, Inhalt, Stimme usw.).

    Thanks for the tutorial, though little lost, how at 1:05 you quickly created the line at the multiple copies at different angles (carrying with the 360/18) so quickly?

      Power duplicate remembers the changes to the duplicate (position, rotation, or scaling) and applies them to the next. I just had to change the angle for the first object and hit Ctrl +J ) 16 more times.

      @2dgameartguru i might have to check my settings as ctrl+j just duplicates the item but not add the rotation. Thanks for the reply the tutorials are really helpful as Im starting with affinty design

      Thanks. Feel free to message me if you get stuck.
      I would suggest having a play with the duplicate [CTRL+J]. Create a shape, duplicate, move the duplicate and hit CTRL+J again, and again. Do the same with rotation and scale or skew and see what happens. It's a quick way to create some interesting visuals.

    Another very interesting demonstration showing the power of symbols !
    Im slightly confused: when you add another line its clipped to the symbol as if a symbol is a group...
    Im probably still stuck in my Inkscape Clone way of thinking...

      A symbol is treated like a group - you can even turn it back to its oarts by ungrouping it. ;)

      Thanks... Working with symbols like this is too simple, too much fun, and too visually pleasing not to try!

    I just bought the Affinity suite during the spring sale. Been using Inkscape since "1849". After watching this video it seems that Inkscape symbols and Affinity symbols are quite different. Am I mistaken to believe that Affinity symbols are similar to Inkscape clones? What would be the Affinity equivalent to Inkscape symbol libraries?
    I have a ton of Inkscape symbol libraries and can't quite figure out how to create the same concept with Affinity. Assets?

      Inkscape's symbols are Affinity Designer's assets white Affinity Designer's symbols are Inkscape's clones [with a few additions allowing you to unsync a symbol to e.g. alter its colours, scaling or rotation].
      I avoid assets and symbols [but for a few limited sets] as all these are loaded on start no matter if you use them in the document later on or not. I prefer working with customized templates for specific tasks that include the symbols/ assets I need for that project.

    can i edit symbol individually without affecting other symbol

    • @2dgameartguru
      @2dgameartguru  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes... You can turn off the sync in the Symbol Panel and alter the colours, move nodes, and change the rotation and the scale as long as it's still the same base shape. Adding more nodes, deleting nodes, and adding elements to that symbol that are not in the other symbols will disconnect it.

    I can't get the second part of duplicating symbol. I get the first 9 and works great, but when you duplicate the second 9, mine is like on top of original and I don't get the effect of two separate lines if that makes sense.

    • @2dgameartguru
      @2dgameartguru  ปีที่แล้ว

      It makes sense. Yes, you are covering the first 9 but try bending the line. The two lines in the same spot are turned 180 degrees and will show the curve accordingly.

      @@2dgameartguru I figured it out ! Thought I was losing my mind. If you click off the symbol, then click back on it and duplicate it, it does not work. You have to continue to duplicate all 18 lines at one time. At least that's what worked for me. Not sure if this is a glitch or just the way it works. Frustrating but in the end it really is cool !!!! Thanks for the video and the help. 😁
