Everything works until I get to the stroke Path 3:48, rather than the brush producing the hairs around the letters it seems to produce them in white within the outline. Is there something I am missing?
Hey Cait, if you notice in the video on the top layer, inside the layers panel, there is a white box and a black box that says FUR. Make sure you are selecting that black box when you apply everything. I had the white box selected and that is why it was producing the white outline. Does that make sense?
Love the tutorial. It was perfect for what I needed. I did think you went a bit fast. I was trying to follow along but by the time I found the item you mentioned you were already two steps ahead.
Im having trouble the part on 3:44. On my tab Stroke Path Is not clickable. Its greyed out. I keep watching over and over and I'm just not seeing anything that I am doing wrong. Please help a brutha out! Thank you bud.
You need to make sure the layer mask is selected in the layers panel. If you have the smart object selected instead, it won't let you stroke the path. See if this might be the issue?
@@mercurialswift7698 That is a pun that, because English is not my mother tonge, I wouldn't think of, but thank you, I now remember that was a pun that was used in cat food ads.
thanks bro - super tutorial and now i know how to make custom brush - turned out slightly different to your work , but well happy with end result --keep up the great work and very easy to follow your tutorials -thanks again
I'm looking for a tutorial where I can apply wool/yarn effect on a typeface. Wonder if this method will still work? Might have to figure of the brush trick myself as it will be different to this.
kokoro use blend tool on two spheres with "specified distance", keep distance as minimum as 1px, then select the blended object and your letter in single line, no fill. Use replace spine in object>blend. Now go to appearance>fx>distort and transform>roughen. Set roughen numbers according to your requirement. Done!
Hi I really enjoy this video, however if I could offer a constructive critic it would be appreciated for those us of the non english native language if you could slow down the past it is a little difficult to follow at time. thanks.
Am I the only one who can't manage to create the brush preset? I have a small triangle next to the "Pen pressure" setting which if clicked won't do anything. I'm using a mouse. Any way to fix this?
Ugh. I wish you gave the instructions for keys not using mac only. I’m stuck on a step because I can’t find the equivalent function the windows key is not functioning the same as command for some reason
im having trouble, the last step was to create a brush stroke using the path, however when I hit enter, it created my brush stroke towards the inside of the path in white.
Orlando Figueroa Make sure you have the layer mask activated in the layers panel. It sounds like the brush is being painted in white on the actual layer instead
Click on it! :-) You'll see a thin black outline around the one that is active. Click the layer thumbnail to paint on the layer, or the layer mask to paint the mask contents
Didn't even work. the brush kept deselecting as soon as i right clicked. and it would be more helpful if you did a windows version cause mac and windows aren't the same thing we dont have "command"
