I went to one of the Hawksmoor restaurants in central London, September 2017 to celebrate my 40th birthday. Best rib eye steak, ever! Truly outstanding. I really like the way they give attention to the food, can see your steak is well rested. I also believe they look after their staff well, as you've shown, a very important mention. Some restaurants, some don't, I work in one! Fab review of a fabulous steakhouse, OK I've only been once, but it was stunning. Thanks for taking the time to review❤
New Yorkers literally laughed out loud when Hawksmoor showed up a few years ago as the first "British Steakhouse" in the Big Apple. Now, the majority of reviewers rate it as the very best in the city, and it has a 5/5 on nearly all the social media sites. You simply cannot surpass their attention to quality and detail. Superb review, Gary.

Love your videos Gary and this was no exception. I think it’s the only score I haven’t got spot on. I was expecting a 10, given how much you enjoyed it and it did look like an outrageously good steak and meal as a whole. I’ll definitely look to give it a go when next in London. I think the best steak I’ve had was a filet steak in a Michelin star pub/restaurant up near me called ‘Pipe and Glass’ (near Beverley in the east riding of Yorkshire). That’s a place you should definitely give a go!
It is a bit expensive, but as you said, it's a treat for a special occasion, your steak looked lovely, cream spinage looked great, a nice portion of chips, and the bone marrow sauce , wow, I think I could taste it actually, sitting here at home, another great review sir , cheers
Hawksmoor is a must.. I have been to the one in Seven Dials (London) and also the Edinburgh one. Everything you say is spot on Gary. The service, friendly staff, and most of all the quality of the steaks. Yes, a tad pricey, but as they say.. "if you want to dance, you've got to pay the band.." Well worth the money. Great review, as always. 👍🏴
Thank you so much. What a great review. Not cheap, of course, but that was a very large steak (too much for me) and a beautiful one, chips deep-fried in blanc de boeuf as the Belgians do - perfect, the bone marrow sauce must have been sensational, the large amount of creamed spinach looked delicious too. All delicious. You deserved a glass of good French red wine with such an excellent meal. A success. Thank you again.
By American standards this restaurant, Hawksmoor, is not overly expensive especially if it is a good as you report. I would consider this as moderately expensive. I noticed in your other reviews the prices which you considered rather high were very reasonable by US restaurants. I think Brits are getting a good deal and looks like really good food properly prepared. Wish you all “good eats.” 1:30 pm Santa Fe, New Mexico.
You know that anything that leaves Gary momentarily speechless....is pretty darn good. I would also note that from watching a lot of American steak restaurants( predominantly New York) on TH-cam, what they charge here ,though expensive, isn't excessive.
Absolutely love Hawksmoor Manchester Highest recommendation from me and my family. Been going regularly for years and went in just after lock down ended. Had a gorgeous family meal as always and when we asked for the bill the waiter said the meal was on the house as a show of their appreciation to us as regular patrons. We couldn't believe it. How kind and fantastic. Brilliant restaurant

@@GaryEats I did go last year with a few mates….I can’t remember a lot,as we’d had a skin full…so I’m going to treat my mum in August for her birthday….sober!!
This appeared in my YT feed ('feed'?) today. I remember the Aberdonian offering from way back, the 70s maybe and they were awful then. I'd seen the Anguish Steakhouse video two or three days ago, so I HAD to click on this. Mind you, I've not lived in the UK much at all since '83 so I'd never heard of Hawksmoor. Seems they are a much needed improvement back home. Perhaps they could adopt the same missionary position here in France, they certainly need a meaty challenge here (we' re OK for wines though).
One thing I realised I like about your videos Gary, is that is filmed in such a way you can almost imagine sitting across the table from you having a conversation. Good job, cameraman! In regard to the review, given the cost, I'm so glad I'm vegetarian!
Hi Gary, thanks for another brilliant video. It looked very nice place even if a bit expensive. I have to say that the steak looked more rare than medium rare. The chips didn’t look anything special, but judging by your reaction, they tasted really good. The cost of it all was pretty high. Personally, for the second best steakhouse in the world I would be expecting it to be absolutely out of this world, but you’re the expert naturally. keep up the amazing work and I look forward to seeing your next video very soon. Many thanks
No offense but in my opinion the steak looked medium rare leaning toward medium but that could well have been the camera or my perception. As long as Gary loved it, it must have been spot on. Cheers!
If i ordered rare and got that it would go straight back, rare is not for ribeye though the fat needs to render a bit... I like mine charred and medium. Rare is for leaner cuts.
Steak looked good I’m a big fan of ribeye I think the fat adds so much to the steak. To say it’s voted #1 in Europe I don’t think it was too bad price wise. Glad you enjoyed it.
I am retired now but spent most of my career working in the “square mile” - at the start Gauchos was the go to steak house and then one day a friend of mine recommended this new restaurant called Hawksmoor which was near Covent Garden - I think this was the first one - I was always and still am a rib eye man but the head waiter said I should try their rump steak as it was amazing value for money - I did and it was - I was an immediate convert and went out of my way to go there from then on if I wanted a steak - everyone who went there was an immediate fan and it is no wonder that it has become such a success story and yes that bone marrow gravy is fantastic
Always a pleasure watching your videos, looked absolutely gorgeous a 10 for your meal and a 10 for you mate,as normal a very honest review. Cheers Gary
Great video as always Gary. I had my first Hawksmoor experience last year and it was outstanding. I don't think you can ever really query the price when the food is THAT good. I wish I'd tried the Bone Marrow gravy as that sounded absolutely wonderful. Looking forward to another visit soon.
It has a bad reputation because plenty of people think the food in this country is still like it was back in the 70s. It was dreadful back then, a hangover from the effects of rationing from WW2.
Excellent review. Being a yank I think the fundamental difference between our restaurants and those in the UK is that when you order a nice steak here it automatically comes with soup or salad, Baked or mashed potatoes, and they usually put bread and butter out when you first sit down. They don't charge for every item separately. Love your reviews!
Can’t fight that price, steak looked incredible. Sides looks delicious. Location, service etc. nothing to complain about there. Just told my wife when we fly back home in a few months that we are booking there! Can’t wait. Cheers
I've been to Hawksmoor a few times and it's never disappoints. It's not cheap, but for a high quality restaurant it's not that expensive either, however I do agree it's a place for a treat / special occasion rather than than just a quick bite to eat. £44 for that size of steak is a bit on the steep side if you look at it in isolation, but when combined with everything else and the whole dining experience it's worth it.
For the #2 steakhouse in the world, not expensive at all. The bone marrow gravy looks amazing. I will be checking on the video on how it was made. My one observation, the grass-fed ribeye was on the lean side.
Beef raised wandering around eating grass when they want produce less fat than animals kept penned in and fed grains/other foodstuffs at timed intervals
We had a 700g chateau briand between 3 people recently at hawksmoor. The cut was HUGE and being frank - incredible. It was cheaper than getting 3 x 400g steaks too. Worth considering for groups. Hawksmoor will basically cut any size you want on any cut if you are Going big. Great review again- starting to really enjoy them.
Hi Gary, just discovered your channel this week and I’m totally addicted! Just watch your Hawksmoor review now, and if you ever go there again, they do a single glass of Malbec polenta which is about £10 I think but well worth it to top off the meal! Keep the amazing content up it’s relaxing honest and watchable 👍🏼👍🏼 that 3 month Sunday roast place was a find I’ve booked it up!
yes but not if rob a bank its not hehe. just think of what you can get for that much money. how many meals at wetherspoons. You still have to ask how much can you go to the butchers and get a good a steak as that for a fraction of the price.
I had a succulent hanger steak at Hawksmoor. TOP quality and the staff treat you with respect. They actually value your custom.. Love your work, Gary. Subscribed
Great review Gary. Hawksmoor is a true success story, the original one in Spitalfields actually had its own butcher counter where customers would go and choose their steak. Whilst it is expensive, it would always be worth considering for a special occasion
There are times and occasions when you really want to push the boat out... and Hawksmoor looks like just the place! ... Yes it was pricey , but that steak looked huge!...and cooked to perfection... and my mouth was watering at the bone marrow gravy!.. Definitely one for my own list.... when I have saved up a few more pennies!

That was a fantastic review Gary. As a special treat, you’ve got to say WOW. Starting the restaurant, environment and service, top class. The steak was just beautifully presented, tender and juicy. Creamed spinach was beautiful, as were the beef-dripping fries. That bone marrow gravy was the cherry on the cake. I know the price was high but what a way to celebrate a special treat. Got to say again Gary, WOW!!! Many thanks for taking the time to share with us. Really appreciated it. Made my day Andreas 👍👍👍

Gary, only just found you but may I say compared to a certain FRC which I have complained about several times you are a true gentleman who gives very honest and informed reviews without all the histrionics of said "gentleman". That steak looked perfect and for the size of it and the quality cook on all ingredients I thought very reasonably priced for a special occasion. Keep up the great reviews, I will be subscribing.
Was lucky enough to get a walk in yesterday evening, I have to say not the cheapest but the best steak I have ever had ….fantastic atmosphere relaxed and attractive staff made for a fantastic evening…keep up the good work Gary
I was at Borough Market earlier today for lunch at Ginger Pig. The hot beef pasties there are the best meat pasties I have EVER eaten. It's just perfection. Easily 10/10 in terms of quality and taste and alot cheaper than Hawksmoor!! 😃
This looked absolutely amazing! And if you think £60 is a lot of money, just compare it to Hawksmoor New York: 14oz Rib-eye = $70 + Bone marrow gravy = $6 + Beef fat fries = $10 + Creamed spinach = $12. Or a total of $98, which converts into £77.12. London (sometimes) offers value for money after all!
That looked AMAZING!!!! The price is what it is, in GP terms, you paid £60 so they only had around £15 to put your entire meal together, 100% worth it and sensationally cooked/rested!!! GM Rich
Another super review. That was expensive but I guess we all get what we pay for, and that looked fantastic, and the bone marrow gravy looked a sure fire winner. Great to see your channel really taking off. You'll hit 50k subscribers in no time.
Never expensive for top quality. I love spinach and I salivated when I saw yours, then gravy, which should come in a mug so that I could drink it straight down, wonderful. Oh the steak looked outstanding. This is all top end stuff. Another wonderful thing is top end and no bullshit and stuffed shirt. Definitely not the sort of place for the likes of HRH3 Charlie boy, thank god neither the cohorts. You are a star, Gary. do you have to ask to film? You booked I presume? Thank you as always I would 100 % go there, Gary! BTW I am a Royalist but most died with Elizabeth the Great, perhaps William will get it back!
Been waiting for this one! I've visited dozens of times and they always nail the basics. I love the relaxed atmosphere and dress code, even in the very shiny Canary Wharf location. They do get you with the wine, but they stock some very good bottles that you can't get anywhere else. In most locations, they have a sommelier on staff which is very handy if you don't know what to order. They also do very good cocktails. I always start with a sour cherry negroni, and I'm a big fan of the Shaky Pete cocktail they do. Great vid - thanks again!
This place is the real deal. I had a Med rare fillet, and dipping it into the Bone Marrow gravy was heaven. Really like your channel. Well spoken, intelligent review. Subscribed. Should have got a beer with that meal!
What I LOVE about you Gary, is your enthusiasm. You're ALWAYS VERY cheerful and upbeat. I found out about your reviews through my Son. Now I'm binge watching!!! Thank you. You're a joy to watch. You always cheer me up. 😂
Great review, I went to the Edinburgh one for my partner's 30th as I wanted to treat her and we were both blown away by quality of the food and service. Agree it is pricey, but as a special occasion, it lives up to expectations. Couldn't recommend it more! I am looking forward to future reviews.
Another great review. I was in BA a month ago and didn’t go to Don Julio. Tourist trap with big queues outside. Plenty of other amazing steak houses there tho. But I will try hawksmore. Looks superb. Cheers Gary, another superb video.
That looked absolutely delicious, Gary. Perfect choices to accompany that steak. Way out of my price range, I’d have to save up for a special occasion for this one! Cheers, mate!
Another great review, thanks. I've been to Hawksmoor once, (Spitalfields) we had the three course set menu, (£31 each). I had mackerel salad, it was nice, but my son had the potted beef, I was green with envy! Beeping wonderful....! We both had rump and chips, really tasty and cooked to perfection, we also had the spinach, (one portion was enough for two people I'd say. To finish we had the Sticky toffee sundae, they were worth a tenner! We all plan to go again. like you said, we had booked, just as well too. All the best.
Thank you again Gary, booked for lunch on 12 Dec 24! In regard to Berwick upon Tweed review, my offer of free accommodation in our holiday home still stands. It is high end and all i would ask is few minute review at the end of one of your foody review vids, which we love ❤
Superb Gary! Can savour that steak! I took my lady to Hawksmoor Borough for her birthday on 29th December 2023 (booked in October). The quality was excellent. Staff lovely and attentive but found them difficult to identify as casually attired as were other guests. My steak was delicious. Place was packed for early dinner. Only dissapointments were that they were out of Lobster for my lady and the Australian Shiraz wine (bottle) was lacklustre for the £87 charged. My lady had scallops and fish which was very good. The sharpener cocktails were good though.
I really like the look of the restaurant and the food you ordered and clearly enjoyed Gary! One comment mentions the Ryther Arms in Ryther and locates it in West Yorkshire, whereas it is actually in North Yorkshire, between Tadcaster and Selby. It’s in the middle of nowhere in the land that time forgot and has been known for many years as the ‘go to’ steakhouse around here. On the subject of cost relating to restaurants, I would suggest value is a better yardstick and this is directly linked to footfall. If a restaurant is so busy that you need to book, the owners have got it right, in my opinion. Keep giving it a go!
Nice review! One point you didn't mention but I saw on the menu is that the beef is grass-fed. Maybe you Brits have more sense than to eat corn-fed beef, but it's popular in North America. Feeding cattle things they're just not meant to eat can't be good for the flavor, so I'm glad to see Hawksmoor's beef is grass-fed.
I hate social media and self obsessed TH-camrs but I am a massive fan of this channel, even my husband is watching them all after work. Gary, love your straight up food reviews and no nonsense approach. That steak looks great, we could only afford to watch you eat it. How much?! I was wondering if you've done another steak meal cheaper to compare the price. I thought it might loose point on price, for £60 you could get meal for two. Very high price, one for stoke brokers luncheon. 😂
We'll Gary I enjoyed every bite you had of that steak dinner and I was so happy you picked up the bill. Food looked amazing and the expression on you face while eating that steak says it all. 😊 I'm stuffed going for a little sleep. 😊
Helpful and enjoyable review, thank you. No crazy graphics and same old HipPop beat and music. Just a very nice detailed presentation of the food and ambiance. Thanks again Sir.
Absolutely love this place. Great atmosphere, lovely staff and delicious steak. Again very pricey, but if you were celebrating something, this is definitely the place. I had such a nice experience here ,would reccomend. Another great review Gal
Great video Gary. I have been to the Hawksmoor restaurant in Piccadilly Circus for Sunday lunch. Bearing in mind where we were, it was only £23 ahead for steak and chips. 😊
Fabulous video once again Gary! Probably one of your best too! Looks so delicious, that bone marrow gravy had me salivating. The American 7:14 is so loud though (my apologies for my people 😂)…wish she would’ve quieted down especially when you’re having that first delectable bite. Anyway..Cheers and thank you again Gary!
Thanks Gary for another great video. My wife and I really enjoy your videos and watch them as soon as they come out and we’ve been to hawksmoor a number of times for special occasions. Always a winner! As for a recommendation, if you are ever in Wiltshire you must visit Bunce’s in Marlborough!
The steak looked fantastic, but as I have a small appetite, 4 oz would do me fine, so I would like the option of having a small portion. I prefer fat chips to 'fries'. The price would put me off except for a celebration meal. Love your happy down to earth reviews.
I really enjoyed my experience like you at Hawksmoor. The bone marrow gravy was so good. Yes it was expensive but worth it. One day not too long from now I hope to go back. Thanks, great video Gary. Cheers Carl
I just love watching your videos Gary. You are an absolute natural. I was at Hawksmoor last month and loved the informal atmosphere but it still felt very smart. And the food was outstanding. Look forward to your upcoming videos!
Great review, shame you didn’t have a glass of red with that excellent meal. Been to the original in Covent Garden a few times and always delivers. Apart from the quality of the food the staff are highly professional, polite and appear to really enjoy working for the Co. Always fantastic ambiance and amazing cocktails, I hadn’t been in for a year and the barman (think he is from NZ) asked me if I wanted the same cocktail as I had the last time, it’s a good job he could remember as I couldn’t.
Great review Gary. Wanted you to do Hawksmoor for a long time so was very pleased to see it pop up. Looked a very good meal and I’m sure it was only the price that stopped it getting a 10/10. Steak is very expensive everywhere which I’m still not sure the reason why. The creamed spinach looked great as that dish can be very thin and the gravy looked amazing. The chips were plentiful and looked really nice also. I agree a good glass of red wine would have accompanied the meal perfectly! Keep up the good work mate as someone has to do it!
Excellent review, my wife and I have booked the Manchester Hawksmoor for April. After watching your review I’m having the exact same, but ill go for medium cooked Steak.
It is expensive Gary but I have to say it is worth it. By far the best steak meal I have ever had (I visited Hawsmoor in Glasgow). Can't beat it for a special night out. Great video as always.
Quality is worth paying for and that steak was top drawer Gary & those fries looked very very good ! Excellent sides in the creamy spinach & bone marrow gravy. A packed restaurant is always a good sign. A special treat place for sure. Pity we're in Australia otherwise I'd go there with my wife for an anniversary dinner. Awesome review once again Gary.
Great review, I've been to that restaraunt and had the same experience. Best quality, even got a single malt comp'd. One thing though... I was shouting "Dip the Fries into the gravy mate*...😍
Everyone talking about that fantastic looking ribeye, grass fed and cooked to perfection but massive respect should be given to that creamed spinach, it looked perfect. Great review Gary
Been to the one in Manchester and New York. Everything was very good. They paid attention to every drink and dish that they serve. From cocktail, starter to dessert. I was lucky to have a family of four, so I got to try many different dishes in one go. It left a hole in my wallet, but hey, it was a special treat for the family.
In London we are fourunate to have two great steakhouse chains... Blacklock and Hawksmoor.. and if I have to choose who number one Hawksmoor would win. Their steaks are the best I've ever eaten... or to quote Darren John... They're off the charts. Great review... Keep them coming.
Hi Gary Love your channel. I went to Hawksmoor (borough) yesterday (17/06/24) with two work colleagues for an evening meal after a business meeting in London. Wow. What a place , we just managed to get a table. I had the rib eye, I cannot fault it in anyway. It hit the right notes for me, perfect steak. Service excellent friendly and looked after us all through the meal. Yes, expensive but worth every penny. Will go there again when in London again.
Great review as always. Been to Hawksmoor about 10 times and took advantage of their Hawksmoor at Home bundles during the pandemic. The quality is always 100%. I am not a sauce guy but you missed a trick not trying their ketchup, it’s hands down best the best ketchup I’ve ever tasted. I once asked and was given a bottle to take home. Just seen Hawksmoor was the number one steakhouse in the world for 2022 before dropping to two for 2023
I think your rating is perfectly fair. Price shouldn’t necessarily reflect a bad rating as it is obviously a treat and not a daily thing. That being said for the price to be high you should expect top quality in food and service which from what you showed you got just that. Another awesome video. Thank you!

No real difference in price between the two but chalk and cheese in respect to quality.
Me 😂
One thing I realised I like about your videos Gary, is that is filmed in such a way you can almost imagine sitting across the table from you having a conversation. Good job, cameraman! In regard to the review, given the cost, I'm so glad I'm vegetarian!
lol I really appreciate you watching as I do so many meat reviews, when I do the vegetarian one soon I’ll be giving you a shout out x 🇦🇺
Many thanks
Thanks Janet. Much appreciated!
Me too. My favourite cut. Thank you!
It’s a sensational restaurant. Ribeye is my favourite also 👍🏼
Always a pleasure watching your videos, looked absolutely gorgeous a 10 for your meal and a 10 for you mate,as normal a very honest review. Cheers Gary
Thanks Harold. As per usual, you're too kind! 👍
Great video as always Gary. I had my first Hawksmoor experience last year and it was outstanding. I don't think you can ever really query the price when the food is THAT good. I wish I'd tried the Bone Marrow gravy as that sounded absolutely wonderful. Looking forward to another visit soon.
Thank you. It's a fantastic place.
My favourite channel on TH-cam. Can’t wait to turn on TH-cam after work to see if there are any new vids! Keep up the exceptional work Gary!
Thank you Steven. Next one will be on Sunday :)
Great review Gary. We love your reviews and keep doing what you are doing.
I appreciate that! Thank you to you and your family for watching!
After binge watching your videos, I think British food is so underrated. It makes me always hungry when I see your video's 😂
Indeed it is. Thank you!
@streetvida2707 I'm from the Netherlands.
Big time!
It has a bad reputation because plenty of people think the food in this country is still like it was back in the 70s. It was dreadful back then, a hangover from the effects of rationing from WW2.
Yes at its best British food is very good and incorporates many different cultures as well.😊
Always a joy to see a Gary notification pop up. Love borough market, used to work down near there many moons ago. Let's give this video a go ;)
Really appreciate that Lou. Hope you enjoy the video!
Thanks so much Jeff
TRUTH
Can’t fight that price, steak looked incredible. Sides looks delicious. Location, service etc. nothing to complain about there. Just told my wife when we fly back home in a few months that we are booking there! Can’t wait. Cheers
You got that right! You will have an excellent time!
HOW MUCH 😱 Looks beautiful, but if I'd have gotten that bill, I think I would of passed out. Another great review Gary
It's expensive. That's the price of one the worlds best steakhouses!
You don't wanna know how much I've spent in there before, I had starter, main, desert, wine, beer and bloody cocktails. 🤣🤣🤣
It's superb, the cameraman loves it there
For the #2 steakhouse in the world, not expensive at all.
The bone marrow gravy looks amazing. I will be checking on the video on how it was made.
My one observation, the grass-fed ribeye was on the lean side.
Have a look at it online. Lovely sauce!
Yes to be fair, Ramsey and his ilk would charge double for a lot less.
That's because it's grass fed. It stays juicy because they're careful when selecting cattle and grilling.
Hawksmoor will basically cut any size you want on any cut if you are
Going big. Great review again- starting to really enjoy them.
Very nice. Sounds delicious.
Brilliant. Thank you so much, Hawksmoor is delicious.
Wow £43.00 for a steak, Gary. That's way out of my price range. It still looked nice 😮
It's pricy for sure Paul. Thanks for watching and commenting!
yes but not if rob a bank its not hehe.
just think of what you can get for that much money. how many meals at wetherspoons. You still have to ask how much can you go to the butchers and get a good a steak as that for a fraction of the price.
Yes it's too expensive for me❤
Was it £43?????
£67 fir the meal and service charge, ive been there its worth it @@damianwalls1262
WOW my lips are smacking, Great video Gary.
Glad you enjoyed it John!!
I had a succulent hanger steak at Hawksmoor. TOP quality and the staff treat you with respect. They actually value your custom..
Love your work, Gary. Subscribed
That’s so good to hear and thank you very much. Selling your best striker I hear 😳
Great review Gary. Hawksmoor is a true success story, the original one in Spitalfields actually had its own butcher counter where customers would go and choose their steak. Whilst it is expensive, it would always be worth considering for a special occasion
I will take a look thank you 😊
Love your reviews Gary, think you might be my favourite of all in a saturated food review market,I wish you continued success.
Very kind to say Robert really appreciated 😊
There are times and occasions when you really want to push the boat out... and Hawksmoor looks like just the place! ... Yes it was pricey , but that steak looked huge!...and cooked to perfection... and my mouth was watering at the bone marrow gravy!.. Definitely one for my own list.... when I have saved up a few more pennies!
Oh my word just thinking about the gravy now, it was delicious!!
If I need a treat meal, Hawksmoor is always near the top of my list. Along with Barrafina and Hide (the latter is an annual treat at most 💰💰💰💰💰)
Favourite food reviewer 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much
Gary, A 30 minute wait for a well cooked steak, well worth it !!! Good afternoon from the U.S.A.
Absolutely Jerry. Bet you have loads of options in the US - very jealous!
@@GaryEats Lots of so called Steak Houses, yes, that's the problem. We have one we go to for steak and trust their culinary abilities. A tad expensive But Worth It !!!
Made my day
Andreas 👍👍👍
Thank you Andreas. Glad you liked the look of the food, yes the gravy was some of the best I've ever had.
@@GaryEats What I enjoy most about your reviews, Gary, is a very honest, interesting perspective. That’s why we all enjoy the videos. Thank you again 💎💎💎
😄😄 thank you!
Fantastic to hear Barry thank you very much for letting me know
I was at Borough Market earlier today for lunch at Ginger Pig. The hot beef pasties there are the best meat pasties I have EVER eaten. It's just perfection. Easily 10/10 in terms of quality and taste and alot cheaper than Hawksmoor!! 😃
I've heard it's superb. Very close!
Lol very good point. Thanks for watching!
That looked AMAZING!!!! The price is what it is, in GP terms, you paid £60 so they only had around £15 to put your entire meal together, 100% worth it and sensationally cooked/rested!!! GM Rich
Good workings Richard, I wish some others could read this comment, you sometimes have to pay for top quality 👍👌
Another super review. That was expensive but I guess we all get what we pay for, and that looked fantastic, and the bone marrow gravy looked a sure fire winner. Great to see your channel really taking off. You'll hit 50k subscribers in no time.
Thanks Philip. You've nailed it!
I think Hawksmoor is the best steakhouse in London
Been waiting for this one! I've visited dozens of times and they always nail the basics. I love the relaxed atmosphere and dress code, even in the very shiny Canary Wharf location.
They do get you with the wine, but they stock some very good bottles that you can't get anywhere else. In most locations, they have a sommelier on staff which is very handy if you don't know what to order.
They also do very good cocktails. I always start with a sour cherry negroni, and I'm a big fan of the Shaky Pete cocktail they do.
Great vid - thanks again!
You're more than welcome Mat. Yep, I loved the relaxed atmosphere as well.
This place is the real deal. I had a Med rare fillet, and dipping it into the Bone Marrow gravy was heaven.
Really like your channel. Well spoken, intelligent review. Subscribed. Should have got a beer with that meal!
I really appreciate you subscribing, watching and commenting Chris I agree Hawksmoor despite been pricy is also top drawer 👌
What I LOVE about you Gary, is your enthusiasm. You're ALWAYS VERY cheerful and upbeat. I found out about your reviews through my Son. Now I'm binge watching!!! Thank you. You're a joy to watch. You always cheer me up. 😂
Wow, thank you!
Great review, I went to the Edinburgh one for my partner's 30th as I wanted to treat her and we were both blown away by quality of the food and service. Agree it is pricey, but as a special occasion, it lives up to expectations. Couldn't recommend it more! I am looking forward to future reviews.
Thanks Daniel :) glad you enjoyed it when you went.
Thanks for your great reviews. When I get to London , will go to some of your recommendations. Hello from Canada and usa
This is definitely worth a visit Daniel and I hope you have a great time when when your over 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Another great review. I was in BA a month ago and didn’t go to Don Julio. Tourist trap with big queues outside. Plenty of other amazing steak houses there tho. But I will try hawksmore. Looks superb. Cheers Gary, another superb video.
An excellent steak house for sure, pricy but sometimes you have to pay for quality
Gary, I have come to appreciate your down to earth approach in reviewing food, & the variety of restaurant types you visit. Well done, keep it up!
I appreciate that!
That looked absolutely delicious, Gary. Perfect choices to accompany that steak. Way out of my price range, I’d have to save up for a special occasion for this one! Cheers, mate!
Glad you liked the video!!
The set menu really looks like value I’ll try myself soon
Thank you again Gary, booked for lunch on 12 Dec 24! In regard to Berwick upon Tweed review, my offer of free accommodation in our holiday home still stands. It is high end and all i would ask is few minute review at the end of one of your foody review vids, which we love ❤
I really hope you enjoy please let me know Stephen
I have reviewed all price points 👍
My mouth was watering watching. Very good Gary, like you say, as a special treat it fully deserved your 9/10
Thanks Paul 👍
Perfect review here Gary with no drama just good honest opinions
Thanks Mike!!
Really glad you enjoyed it Eddie!
Thanks David. I’ll keep giving it a go, thank you mate!
You make a very good point, thank you very much
Great to see genuine enthusiasm for a good steak. I’m carnivore so will be booking a table.
You won’t be disappointed a great steakhouse
@ booked for Sunday lunch - really enjoy your honest down to earth reviews 🫡
I hate social media and self obsessed TH-camrs but I am a massive fan of this channel, even my husband is watching them all after work. Gary, love your straight up food reviews and no nonsense approach.
That steak looks great, we could only afford to watch you eat it. How much?! I was wondering if you've done another steak meal cheaper to compare the price. I thought it might loose point on price, for £60 you could get meal for two. Very high price, one for stoke brokers luncheon. 😂
Thank you very much. Kind of you to say!
We'll Gary I enjoyed every bite you had of that steak dinner and I was so happy you picked up the bill. Food looked amazing and the expression on you face while eating that steak says it all. 😊 I'm stuffed going for a little sleep. 😊
This was outstanding Ronald expensive but great quality
Helpful and enjoyable review, thank you. No crazy graphics and same old HipPop beat and music. Just a very nice detailed presentation of the food and ambiance. Thanks again Sir.
You're more than welcome and thank you
Absolutely love this place. Great atmosphere, lovely staff and delicious steak. Again very pricey, but if you were celebrating something, this is definitely the place. I had such a nice experience here ,would reccomend. Another great review Gal
Thank you very much. It’s a great steakhouse.
Great video Gary. I have been to the Hawksmoor restaurant in Piccadilly Circus for Sunday lunch. Bearing in mind where we were, it was only £23 ahead for steak and chips. 😊
Great value that Alan.
Glad you enjoyed it Kris. That means a lot :) haha, she was a bit loud but no problem. You have to enjoy the moment!
Thanks mate 👍 happy you both enjoy them and I will do!
The steak looked fantastic, but as I have a small appetite, 4 oz would do me fine, so I would like the option of having a small portion. I prefer fat chips to 'fries'. The price would put me off except for a celebration meal. Love your happy down to earth reviews.
Thanks Flower. Yes, a treat but not an every week thing (well not for me anyway)
I really enjoyed my experience like you at Hawksmoor. The bone marrow gravy was so good. Yes it was expensive but worth it. One day not too long from now I hope to go back. Thanks, great video Gary. Cheers Carl
Yep. It's superb Carl. Thanks mate.
Like the decor also the name of the Pub...another wonderful review!
Thank you very much, Helen, this is very good but it is expensive ❤️🌹❤️
I just love watching your videos Gary. You are an absolute natural.
I was at Hawksmoor last month and loved the informal atmosphere but it still felt very smart. And the food was outstanding.
Look forward to your upcoming videos!
A nice bit of luxury, that steak looked phenomenal and worth every penny! Glad to see a healthy portion of fries aswell. Fantastic video mate
Cheers Matty thank you 😊
Great review, shame you didn’t have a glass of red with that excellent meal.
It's a truly wonderful restaurant. Can highly recommend!
Great review Gary! Love the show! Come try some Steakhouses in South Africa one day!
Hopefully, I will do that one day
Great review Gary.
Tony that was absolutely perfectly said, thank you for taking the time to do such an excellent comment it’s really appreciated 👍
Excellent review, my wife and I have booked the Manchester Hawksmoor for April. After watching your review I’m having the exact same, but ill go for medium cooked Steak.
You will have a wonderful time. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wow another fantastic great eating establishment Gary well done i know it's going to be expensive and yet another 10/10 mate.
This does offer fantastic quality steak
Great review , love your videos mate from Australia !
Thanks for watching and commenting and hi to Australia 🇦🇺
Makes my day when your latest vid drops. Another excellent unbiased review.
You’re gonna be 100K soon Gary and well deserved too.
Much appreciated that’s is very kind 👍
It is expensive Gary but I have to say it is worth it. By far the best steak meal I have ever had (I visited Hawsmoor in Glasgow). Can't beat it for a special night out. Great video as always.
Spot on mate, love Hawksmoor
Love the review Gary. I would be a solid 10 from me. The food looked perfect. Appeared to be a great atmosphere as well.
It was very good all round but a little expensive, you get what you pay for 🤷♂️
Quality is worth paying for and that steak was top drawer Gary & those fries looked very very good ! Excellent sides in the creamy spinach & bone marrow gravy. A packed restaurant is always a good sign. A special treat place for sure. Pity we're in Australia otherwise I'd go there with my wife for an anniversary dinner. Awesome review once again Gary.
Thanks Robert. Oh yes. No doubt they have some great steakhouses in Oz.
Great review, I've been to that restaraunt and had the same experience. Best quality, even got a single malt comp'd. One thing though... I was shouting "Dip the Fries into the gravy mate*...😍
That is truly wonderful to hear
Everyone talking about that fantastic looking ribeye, grass fed and cooked to perfection but massive respect should be given to that creamed spinach, it looked perfect. Great review Gary
Oh yes, the creamed spinach was absolutely delicious. Glad you liked the video!
A hole in the wallet indeed but a nice full belly :)
In London we are fourunate to have two great steakhouse chains... Blacklock and Hawksmoor.. and if I have to choose who number one Hawksmoor would win. Their steaks are the best I've ever eaten... or to quote Darren John... They're off the charts.
Great review... Keep them coming.
They're both excellent restaurants Stephen. Blacklock's value for money is incredible.
Hi Gary
Love your channel.
Brilliant to hear David. The food is excellent
Just seen Hawksmoor was the number one steakhouse in the world for 2022 before dropping to two for 2023
I agree it’s brilliant quality and I’ll try the ketchup next time thank you 👌
I think your rating is perfectly fair. Price shouldn’t necessarily reflect a bad rating as it is obviously a treat and not a daily thing. That being said for the price to be high you should expect top quality in food and service which from what you showed you got just that. Another awesome video. Thank you!
Thank you Damian totally agree 👍
New sub here. Arriving London on Christmas Day from the U.S. We just made a reservation at Hawksmoor for Dec 27th!! Thanks for the review.
Welcome aboard! It’s brilliant
Wow Gary that looked amazing 😊 I could almost taste it with my mouth was watering 😋 ❤ the price was a bit steep but as you said as a now an again treat it's fine 😊❤ thank you for keeping the reviews coming 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Trudy, thank you!!
Oh my favourite but haven't been in a while. Looking forward to this one Gary.
It is so good Laura, as you know 😊
I'd venture the steak was rare vs medium rare. And Gazza, rule number one with ordering steaks...... theyre washed down with a glass o red mate ;)
Cheers for the smiles mate! Always a joy.
Nice one Gary - many thanks.👏
Thank you for watching Allan
