Is the rear view camera weather resistant / be mounted outside ? How long is the cable for the rear view camera ? ( is there an extension available ? ) AWESOME VIDEO - GREAT INFO - THANKX
Same for me, in really sunny days (australian sun) the screen became glary i had to use the mirror instead of the screen, also driving at night, headlights from cars behind me is too bright, i had to turn off screen and use mirror option.
Yeah on other units I have used, I put any anti glare film on it and that worked but it also affected the image a bit. It also affected the ability to use it as a mirror when the screen is off. For this one I decided to not use the film that way I could use it as a mirror.
I believe I did it in this one...th-cam.com/video/1blAKYV1K48/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JMIkmFu3MRVh72g5. If not check out my dashcam playlist. Thanks for watching and let me know if you need anymore information.
When you unpackaged the rear camera, you mentioned it has about 6 feet of cable. Could you confirm this length as I was under the impression it would be around 19 feet of cable in order to reach the middle rear of many vehicles. Also I noticed a red wire included with the rear camera cable. Is that meant for connecting to reverse lights? If so does it show rear camera view along parking lines to assist in backing up, if the red wire is utilized ?
Yeah I didn't measure the length, but you are correct it probably more like 12+ feet to get to the back of a full size truck. Yes the red wire is a sensor wire that is used to tap into the reverse light to trigger the back up assist lines. But on this unit I don't believe it has the reverse lines I didn't notice in the features. Possibly that is because it has the smart features. Possibly if you attach that it will simply just trigger the rear camera.
Very nice video review, thanks a lot! A quick question.. is the LCD's image bright enough to actually see it clearly during the day? Looking at your video it seems the mirror is extremely reflective and unless the LCD panel is really super bright, then it will be very difficult to see the screen during the day. I already had a couple of mirrors like this that I ended up returning because of this problem.. the screen was too reflective and the LCD panel too dim to actually provide a clear and easy to view picture. Thanks again :)
I agree with your comment about the other one being too reflective and you can see the screen. I found this one I don't really have that issue. But might just depend on the situation and the lighting.
Yeah I did notice that they had a 2.5k resolution rear camera but I haven't tried it out. I have tried a 2.5k resolution camera before on one of the other systems I had. It was better. I don't know if it was mind-blowing. I still think that these systems need a 4K resolution and I'm hoping in the near future that pelsee might actually have one come out. I would say if 200 bucks is in your budget go ahead and get the 2.5k one. I'm sure it will be better than the 1080p.
Unfortunately yes, all 12" mirrors don't work on Jeep Wrangler JLs or Gladiator JTs. But lucky they offer a 10" version which works just fine. The 12" is not really that big of a deal, all you have to do is turn the mirror to the side and then pull down the visor and turn the mirror back. So it's up to you if you want the 12 or 10.
I'm about to install this on my car, but I was wondering what visibility is like, given that the display surface is also a mirror. Do you have issues seeing the camera's display while the mirror is also reflecting another image of its own?
Not really because you can actually adjust the brightness of the screen so it tends to cancel out the reflection so works pretty good in majority of the lighting I haven't really noticed anything that would bother me
I just bought this , why there's no wifi logo at the top righ corner ? Do I need to turn hotspot mode on on my phone to enbale this ? And the app didn't send me a verification code after I entered my email address :(
It’s definitely NOT limitation of technology! It’s just crappy rear view camera. I good rear view camera will cost you $200-$300 that’s just for a camera. 4K 30FPS
Pelsee actually offers the same system but in a 10", which will allow you to flip down the visor. They are the only company that offers their mirrors in two different sizes.
This is the most comprehensive video about Pelsee P12 Plus I found online. This helped me to make the decision to buy the device. Thanks you!
Great review I appreciate your efforts in making this video.
Thank you and thanks for watching.
this thing looks cool
For your backup camera do you have to hook it to your back up tail light you do the great video
No, the camera just simply connects to the mirror.

Yes it can be put outside the vehicle and they do sell extension cords that you can get on Amazon if you need more cord.

Do you have a link to the video where you show how to remove the A Pillar and install the wires?

Is that bracket included in the package. If not, where did you buy it? Can you provide the information.
No the bracket is separate, I put the links in the description.
Amazon lists a version with a 2.5k rear camera for $199. Have you tried out the higher resolution rear camera they offer?

Doesn't the mirror get in the way of the visor ?

Where is the video of installing the wires?
It's in this video... th-cam.com/video/1blAKYV1K48/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Ia7DcBwIcKKvxJJ8
It's the same process for this camera.
Where did you find the mounting bracket!? Or does it come included?
In the description for this video there are links for the bracket from Pelsee and the Universal ball joint.

@@evolvedjeepin thank you!
Is the mirror waterproof ?
Honestly not sure, I don't think so though.
👍

You might need to turn on the wifi. And not sure why you didn't get a verification code.
@@evolvedjeepin Thanks! I found out I bought P12 Pro rather than P12 Plus :(
@@naughtscienceetis3405I was just about to comment this. I just canceled my pro order for the plus good thing they didn’t charge my account😂

Yeah that's what I figured. I'm just waiting for one of these brands to actually come out with a system with a good rear view camera.
But can you flip down your visors with it? If someone would take this into consideration, they would have my money. until then, save it.
Pelsee actually offers the same system but in a 10", which will allow you to flip down the visor. They are the only company that offers their mirrors in two different sizes.
Where did you get the bracket?
