Vivek Kandasamy o wouldn't argue malkin winning it but if Crosby has another great game and they win in 6 he may take it. He has 7 points in 5 games of this series and is only one point behind malkin with basically 1.5 games less played due to injury.

If the Pred's win game 6, it will be interesting as to who starts game 7. I think you leave Rinne in. He's had his fair share of lackadaisical goals but the defense hasn't played very well on the road either.
This is what games look like when refs don't get in the pens way and make absolutely ridiculous penalty calls. Pittsburgh IS the best hockey team.

Just some takeaways from this series so far...
Pekka Rinne is absolute garbage on the road, if this series goes 7 he shouldn't start game 7.
Nashville is a team that doesn't act like they belong on this stage. They don't know how to lose trying to start fights in closing moments of losses, running guys into the boards in games they've lost, crosschecking someone in the face in the final 30 seconds...and they don't know how to win. Game 3 was a perfect example. Running a Pens player into the boards after the final horn sounded.
The Penguins clearly have another gear that whenever they decide to actually use it, no one in this playoffs has been able to handle it. Offensively, defensively and goaltending. They've been wildly inconsistent and have only played a handful of full games however.
Either team could blame the refs if they really wanted. The only thing more inconsistent about the play of the teams, because apparently they only care to show up when on home ice, is the referee work of the series. Too much crap is allowed to go on and the games spiral out of control. The refs have not favored either team this series though, so using the refs as an excuse is weak.
Pittsburgh's fourth line is easiest line to root for. All out effort on every shift. Flying around the ice. Backchecking, forechecking, hitting, puck possession. While Malkin, Crosby, Guentzel get the accolades, Rowney, Cullen, Wilson, Archibald have been the underrated stars of this series.

Okay so I hear preds fans whining about the refs not calling for the water bottle and Crosby pushing (not punching, slamming or smashing but those are the melodramatic words being used) Subbans head into the ice. Yes they could've and maybe should've been penalties but so could the crosschecks from behind and the punches to the head by the preds in the previous games. Here's a dose of reality for you, this is how it is in the Stanley cup playoffs. The refs swallow their whistles and let the teams play but I guarantee if they did call all the penalties the pens would come out on top because when it comes to dirty hockey they're on the receiving end of it much more than they are being the ones dishing it out. Crosby has to deal with this bs more than any other player in the league.

Just before Game 5, I took Pens at -140 for 1400 to win a grand and I was kicking myself for being so stupid and sentimental. Didn't think they had it in them. They'd looked tired in Nashville, a last gasp kind of deal. But I bet on them in Game 5 as a kind of thanks for winning me some good coin during the season and the playoffs. Crosby couldn't even find the net in Nashville then he and Malkin and Kessel suddenly wake up and steamroll the Preds. Wtf? I don't get these guys. They give gambling addicts like me a fucking ulcer. Game 6 is going to be a very tough call. More banging head against wall trying to make a pick.
I am a pens fan and last match I commented about the refs coz I knew as soon as nashville lost everyone would blame refs and what a surprise doing it already... absolute joke.

-pens scored 6
-preds tried to injure pens... 0 injured
-preds goalie got pulled
-pens don't fight but one every fight
-pens are a small team but bullied nashville in every aspect of the game

Crosby also smashed Subban's head into the ice at least 5 times while he was laying on the ice (which should be a game misconduct) and threw a water bottle at one of the Nashville players during a rush and never even got called for a penalty..... Yeah one-sided would be the right call for that game.

The Predators have to be one of the sorest losing teams i've ever seen. They just turn into spoiled children when they're losing. They just give up and try to injure or antagonize. I thought Brent Burns was kinda crazy last SCF, and I didn't even think he was a sore loser just that he played with a hard edge, but the Predators have just made me cringe with their level of sour grapes. I don't even understand it because most of their players are not known for shenanigans. I guess Anaheim taught them something.

I'm not even hating on the Preds man, I really just am taken back by the shenanigans they're throwing. The fucking Blue Jackets weren't nearly as bad in total from what I personally witnessed. Last season the SJ Sharks seemed like puppies in comparison. Granted, games 3 and 4 were less crazy but those were the games the Predators won. It just seems more like Laviolette is being a sore loser, I don't even put it as much on the players as the coach. The players are just sticking to their philosophy so while it's shitty to watch, it isn't like I don't expect that kind of stuff. With that said, I didn't watch the Predators whole run to the Cup, and I did watch the Penguins' run so maybe you're correct at least to some degree. The Predators may have been like this throughout their playoff run and I just am not accustomed to it. I don't hate the Predators, I just want to say that again. I very much like a lot of their team and have a lot of respect for their team in most situations, and the Predators, win or lose the cup, should be very proud of this season.

You will not beat a team like the defending champs with subpar goaltending. And Crosby was amazing game 5 , I felt like this game was the first game Pittsburgh played like Pittsburgh which if it continues the preds have no chance.

I am not even a preds fan, the refs were trash. That was not a hold on Ellis 15 seconds in. Also Crosby was smashing subans head on the ice, the ref watched it happen, he was standing right there. He waited for subban and to shove back a little and called matching. Crosby should have got a five minute major. Hopefully he gets suspended. Really dirty play. Plus he threw a water bottle on the ice. Bad sportsmenship
